The first wave of Pokémon Pokopia’s Expansion Pass, Bubbly Basin, was released just over a month ago, showering us with a new world, new Pokémon, new furniture, and so much more (you can find a full overview here!). Now, thanks to the Nintendo Direct that aired September 9, we have a new look at the second wave of the DLC.

Nintendo previously revealed in the Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass Extended Trailer that the second wave would focus on accessories for Pokemon, including the player character Ditto, and that Snubbull would be coming to the game. The Nintendo Direct trailer, at just over a minute long, showed a few more Pokopia accessories and Pokémon included in the second part of the Expansion Pass.

If you can surface from Bubbly Basin for just a moment, here’s everything Nintendo just revealed about Pokopia’s next Expansion pass wave.

New Pokopia Accessories Revealed

The trailer showed off four new accessories, all of which were worn by both regular Pokémon and Ditto in human form.

First, there’s a white hair bow that sits in the middle of Pokémon’s heads. Second, there’s a pair of black sunglasses that sit over Pokémon’s eyes. Third, there’s a pink, white, and blue hair bow inspired by the bow Sylveon naturally wears. Finally, there’s a formal ruffled necktie. (The bow tie was also shown off, but we already knew this was coming.)

Do note that the colors might not be fixed. At this point, we don’t know if we can paint them with Smeargle or if they will be available in other colors. Though, the official art for Part 2 features Snubbull in a yellow bow tie, so it appears we will get color variants in some form.

The art for the second wave of the Pokopia Expansion pass shows Snubbull wearing a bow tie, Ditto wearing sunglasses and flowers, and Peakychu wearing angel wings and a frilly headband.

The art also hints at other accessories like angel wings, a frilly headband, and a flowers and sunglasses combo headpiece. Plus, we know from the Extended Trailer that we’re getting a hat and sunglasses headpiece.

New Pokémon Incoming

The trailer also revealed three new Pokémon coming with the next wave: Doduo, Skitty, and Braixen. That doesn’t seem like a lot, but the trailer did say, “and others,” which should indicate that there will be more new ‘mons to dress up.

Ditto hangs out with Snubbull, Skitty, Pikachu, Peakychu, Doduo, and Braixen pose for a selfie.

And that’s it. It's looking like the Pokopia Expansion Pass's second wave is going to be smaller than the first wave, as it doesn't come with a new world (Nintendo was explicit about this in the Extended Trailer). It doesn't appear that Part 2 will have furniture either.

Otherwise, Nintendo is not being explicit about Part 2, leaving us with plenty of questions. How do we acquire these Pokopia accessories? Can we make them? How many accessories and new Pokémon will there be? Can all Pokémon wear all accessories? Are these accessories only aesthetic? Just saying, accessories are very Pokémon Contest-coded, as are Sylveon and Braixen (not to get anyone’s hopes up).

We also know nothing about the third and final wave other than that it will include a new town and is set to release at some time in 2027. So it's likely that Part 2 is something of a filler wave to hold us over until Part 3.

When is the Pokopia Expansion Pass's Next Wave Releasing?

Nintendo has also yet to reveal the official release date, keeping us at bay with “Late 2026.” So Part 2 will come out somewhere in the next three and a half months.

So for now, just keeping swimming through Bubbly Basin and stay tuned via the Pokopia category under the Life Sim tab for the latest Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass updates.
