After the launch of The Sims 4 Toddlers Update on January 12th, many Simmers who didn’t play The Sims 4 for a very long time decided to give the game another chance as the new life stage brings plenty of new gameplay.

After reading the comments on Facebook and Twitter, some Simmers didn’t play The Sims 4 for months (even years) due to lack of family gameplay (mostly because there were no Toddlers). Some of them even mentioned that they had to go back to The Sims 3 because the Legacy Challenge is far more enjoyable when you have toddlers. Thanks to the Toddlers Update, many of them came back.
What’s really interesting is that The Sims 4 had this amount of online active players only in the week of the launch (September 2nd, 2014). There were updates like Pools, Ghosts and CAS Gender tools which brought a few thousands of simmers back to the game, but that didn’t last long.
Here’s an example of active online users on the weekend of CAS Gender Tools update, which was HEAVILY followed by gaming websites and other general media:

We’re very excited that there’s a lot of hype for The Sims 4 in our social media timelines. Let’s hope the positivity and enthusiasm towards The Sims 4 stays like this!
apology nah thank you yea
I’m definitely one of the people who came back!!!
Not me cause I was never rude about it. My faith dropped but I never shared any hatred towards them so I can’t apologize but I can say “Thank you”!
I had my game uninstalled for over a month and literally just reinstalled it two days before patch day and I have no regrets making my return now. Such so I retired The Sims 2 with an uninstall to focus on the best toddlers the sims franchise ever created. They are more independent and more fluid in their interaction with the Sims and the world around them!
yes I agree we should say sorry because I think they have been working on toddlers since get to work.
I think we as a community should write a apology letter and a thank you letter to the sims team.
