Free Couch, Pair Of Heels And Two Paid The Sims 4 Marketplace Releases

The first free The Sims 4 Maker Packs have arrived. With an object or two for each Pack.

It’s time to catch up on everything that just came out to The Sims 4 Marketplace. I was away for a bit to catch up on the singular Maker Pack release from last week, but today’s release of Free Sims 4 Maker Packs has brought me back to tell you all about it without opening the Main Menu. And hundreds of Marketplace popups that come before that.

Today we’ve been blessed with the first two free Sims 4 Maker Packs released to The Marketplace. Although it’s great that we’re getting a new free couch and a pair of heels for the first time, this all feels like the first middle ground offer from EA and Maxis. Because you’re being offered just a small bite of the full CC Sets that are being offered for a microtransactional currency fee.

In theory, these free Maker Packs should be a thankful moment. But, so much wasted server space hosting images describing a single piece pack, making it feel like this all could’ve been an SDX Drop…which EA removed quietly with the introduction of The Marketplace.

With that being said, here’s everything free and paid on The Sims 4 Marketplace:

The free couch set and shoes do look very cute.
However, this clearly is an attempt to get people hooked on maker stuff to get them to spend money as we all know the marketplace ain’t doing whay EA was hoping for.
I won’t get fooled by them anymore and I’ll claim the free stuff but that’s it.

Actuallyromantic

These heels are ugly

Atreya

Pretty or ugly is of course a personal opinion but I am genuinely considering NOT claiming these shoes. I just know I will never use them.

Jessica

I agree, I claimed the sofa, but I won’t be claiming the shoes. I would never use them with that heel.

Petronelian

I don’t have any new content for free, although the paid Maker Packs mentioned above are…
I love it! I click “free” and the first thing that pops up is the Royalty and Legacy I own, followed by the Maker Packs, which aren’t free…
GREAT FILTER “FREE”! LOVE IT! SO MUCH, MUCH!!!

Rylanluv

Also nothing new that is free on my Marketplace. Maybe they got the day wrong? Or maybe this is just a very late April Fools Joke?

maya

When I opened the game I saw the note next to marketplace that there is free packs but when I go to the actual marketplace, I don’t see them. I see the Toinette Set and the heels Cozy Shuffle sets but I don’t see anything free or Sit Next To Me or Velvet Bow Heels sets.

Simslishing

Hmmm, they should not be doing free maker pack, especially when they are getting very little when these maker packs aren’t on sale.

Instead they should have give a way some DLC like City Living, Season and Get To Work.

maya

There is no way that they will give away the expansion or the game packs for free. A stuff pack or a kit is more likely.

astra

they are doing free maker packs bc players are not engaging with the marketplace. the idea is that if a player HAS to open the marketplace then they may be enticed to actually like, buy something, as opposed to outright ignoring it. they are using maker packs, specifically, bc it is outsourced labor that they are not paying for (or paying veeeeery little, depending on if there’s a flat listing payment to the maker in question or not. judging by how much they pay creators for paid packs, my guess would be no). they have no interest in actually giving a player free content, this is purely the cheapest available marketing campaign.

Rylanluv

Considering that a lot of people are reporting that the free items aren’t even there, I have to wonder if they have set it up so that you can only get access to the free stuff if you’ve purchased moola. While it doesn’t mention that you have to have made a moola purchase to be ‘eligible’ for the free content, I wouldn’t be surprised by EA pulling that kind of garbage at this point.

Jessica

I have never bought moola, nor will I ever do so, but I do have the free maker packs and have claimed the sofas.

Darkening Demise

This just proves how desperate they are for this marketplace to work and its not.
People only used it for the free kit and now free sets too.
Hopefully it continues to disappoint EA like the insider said.

Jason

That’s the thing, I do think console players will buy them since that’s the only way for them to experience custom content. But for PC players they can get an exact or maybe superior quality for FREE.

Guest

I think the shoes are really cute. Maker kits so far have been really bad/uninteresting so I still wont buy any.

Nika

I KNEW IT. I knew they will remove SDX Drop. What a piece of greedy you know what. Everything they ‘gave’ as events could be a drop but no, now they try to force us to use marketplace anyway. It’s worse and worse!
