The Sims 4 Apocalypse Save File: 6 Incredibly Creative Post-Disaster Worlds

What happens to the worlds of The Sims 4 after everything falls apart?

The Sims 4 Apocalypse Save File takes six familiar worlds and completely reimagines them after six very different disasters. Evergreen Harbor's power grid has failed, Chestnut Ridge has become a refuge for survivors, Del Sol Valley has descended into a city where only the ruthless survive, dark magic has unleashed natural disasters across Selvadorada, a nuclear bomb has devastated StrangerVille and a zombie outbreak has transformed Copperdale.

Created as a massive community collaboration, the Save File is filled with abandoned structures, survivor shelters, rebuilt community spaces and some incredibly creative interpretations of what life might look like after everything changes.

Rather than trying to document every lot in a collaboration this large, I decided to approach this spotlight a little differently. Think of this as a journey through the Apocalypse Collab Save File. I'll show you some of the places, people and little details that caught my attention along the way, while leaving plenty behind for you to discover yourself.

Before Exploring the Apocalypse Collab Save File

The builds are only part of this collaboration. The Save File also includes 85 Sims spread across dozens of households, and I've included them below so you can get a look at some of the survivors you'll meet along the way. There are solo survivors, large groups, families with children, pets and horses, with plenty of interesting characters whose stories you'll have to discover for yourself.

There is one important thing to know before downloading: this Save File uses a lot of packs. The required packs screen is extensive, so players who don't own a large Sims 4 DLC collection may encounter missing or substituted objects. I recommend checking the required content before beginning so you know what to expect.

With that out of the way, it's time to start exploring. Our first stop takes us deep into a jungle already known for ancient mysteries.

Selvadorada: When Ancient Magic Fights Back

Selvadorada brings a very different kind of disaster to the Apocalypse Collab. Here, powerful rulers used their knowledge of dark magic, displeasing the gods and triggering a series of natural disasters.

It's a premise that fits remarkably well with a world already filled with ancient ruins, hidden passages and mysteries buried deep within the jungle. Instead of simply turning Selvadorada into another collection of abandoned buildings, the creators leaned into what makes this world different in the first place. The jungle is still beautiful, but something has clearly gone very wrong.

One of the first things I noticed while exploring Selvadorada was how naturally the new builds disappear into the landscape. Stone structures are covered in vegetation, vines spill from walls and rooftops, and ancient ruins blend into newer shelters and community spaces. At times, it feels as though the jungle is slowly reclaiming everything people have left behind.

But this isn't an empty world. There are signs everywhere that people are still finding ways to survive. Camping equipment has been tucked among ancient structures, old ruins have been repurposed and community spaces give survivors places to gather. Even locations such as the Ancient Library suggest that preserving knowledge and pieces of the old world still matters.

There are seven rebuilt lots to discover throughout Selvadorada: Relic Point, a 30x20 Vacation Rental; Shady Shop, a 40x20 Generic lot; Rodan Place, a 40x30 Community Market; Itza, a 64x64 Vacation Rental; Ancient Library, a 30x20 Library; The Underground Bunker, a 20x15 Vacation Rental; and Jungle Spa, a 30x30 Spa.

A Journey Through Post-Apocalyptic Selvadorada

Exploring these lots shows how the creators imagined life continuing after Selvadorada's disaster. Makeshift camps sit beneath ancient ruins, gathering places are surrounded by vegetation and buildings are slowly being reclaimed by the jungle. The world doesn't feel abandoned. Survivors have adapted, repurposing old structures and creating places to live and gather. I've intentionally captured only pieces of Selvadorada, leaving plenty of details and surprises for you to discover yourself.

Evergreen Harbor: Life After the Grid

Once the center of a bustling eco city, Evergreen Harbor has lost its power grid. Now, survivors are embracing a new solarpunk way of life.

Evergreen Harbor includes a mix of homes, rentals and community spaces that make the world feel surprisingly established after the grid went down. Highlights include the 30x20 Post Apocalyptic Eco Farm, 30x20 La Kiva Center, 40x30 Sprucewood Square, and 40x30 Waterfront Market. Residential lots range from the smaller 20x15 Mackenzie Novak & Jack home to 30x20 lots like Solar Punk Takeover, Vex and M&M Thompson, alongside larger homes and several apartments. It's clear that the survivors here aren't simply hiding out. They've started building a functioning community.

A Community Rebuilt

As I explored, I kept noticing how much this world is about adapting and rebuilding. There are still signs that things went very wrong, with abandoned equipment, shipping containers, trash and vines, but survivors have clearly found ways to move forward. Solar panels, wind turbines, gardens and greenhouses appear throughout the neighborhoods, alongside homes built from whatever was available.

What I liked most were the little signs of everyday life. Sims gather around campfires, share meals, tend gardens and meet at makeshift markets. Some areas are rough and pieced together, while others have become surprisingly comfortable solarpunk communities. Evergreen Harbor may have lost its power grid, but it definitely hasn't lost its heart.

Chestnut Ridge: A Refuge in the Wasteland

An old ghost town is beginning to change as survivors arrive looking for refuge, bringing some mysterious new residents to the wide-open landscape of Chestnut Ridge.

Chestnut Ridge includes a mix of survivor homes, working farms and community spaces spread across its wide-open landscape. Residential lots include Cowboy Girl (20x20), Sutton (40x30), Duane, Brock & Tornado (20x20), Walker (30x20), The Robinsons (30x20), Peak (30x30) and Boone (30x20). Other builds include the sprawling CBSSurvivors.Camp (64x64), Abandoned Horse Ranch (50x50), Rundown Farm (40x30) and Old Small Nectar Farm (20x15), along with the Dust & Mercy Saloon (30x20) and Sheriff’s Office (30x20).

Finding Refuge in Chestnut Ridge

Chestnut Ridge feels less like a world abandoned after the apocalypse and more like a community beginning again. Ranches, survivor camps, a sheriff's office and other repurposed spaces make it feel as though people are trying to rebuild some sense of normal life.

What stood out most were the survivors themselves. Families are living together, children still play and read, and beloved horses and dogs remain by their sides. Chestnut Ridge really embraces its role as a refuge, showing that even after everything changed, people are still finding ways to make a home.

Del Sol Valley: Only the Ruthless Survive

The glamorous city of Del Sol Valley has imploded into something much darker, transforming the former home of celebrities and luxury into a place where survival belongs to the ruthless.

Del Sol Valley mixes the remains of its glamorous past with places built around survival and starting over. The world includes Ward (50x40), B.T.B - Post Apo (64x64), The Last Estate 2 (50x40), Inner Circle (40x30), Vacuous Green (50x40), Downtown Ugly Apartments (40x30), The Curtain Call (30x30), Last Light Outpost (20x20), Abandoned Library (40x30), Abandoned Hospital (40x30), and Last Light (30x30). Together, the lots turn the former home of celebrities and luxury into a city where abandoned spaces, makeshift communities and the remnants of old wealth now exist side by side.

Del Sol Valley: When the Glamour Fades

Del Sol Valley was one of those worlds where I kept finding little details that made me stop and look around. The glamorous city we know is still there underneath it all, but now it’s covered in overgrown plants, abandoned cars, debris and makeshift places for survivors to live. Former businesses and public spaces have been repurposed, while other buildings look like nature is slowly taking them back. I especially liked seeing signs that people are still actually living here, whether they’re working at an old computer surrounded by trash and vines, gathering together in a makeshift camp, or finding new uses for places that once represented Del Sol Valley’s wealth and celebrity lifestyle. It feels messy, strange and surprisingly alive, which fits this version of the city perfectly.

StrangerVille: Ground Zero

A nuclear bomb has devastated StrangerVille, leaving behind only the strongest and most resourceful survivors in a world where steampunk meets the apocalypse.

StrangerVille is packed with residential lots and survivor-focused builds, with a few community spaces mixed in. Highlights include the 20x20 StrangerVille Historical Library and 20x20 Devil’s Locomotive Bar, alongside homes for Cheng (20x15), The Crazies (30x20), No Wolf Left Behind (30x20), Chance & Bandit (30x20), Bloodhart (30x20), The Wheel Family (40x30), Rust & Sludge Waterworks (30x20), The Salvage Compound (40x30), and Luis the Station Keeper (50x40). The original 64x64 Secret Lab remains unchanged.

StrangerVille Completely Surprised Me

StrangerVille turned out to be one of the biggest surprises of the entire Save File. Some of these builds are among the most elaborate and beautiful I've seen in The Sims 4, filled with massive steampunk structures, unusual machinery and an incredible number of tiny details that are easy to miss at first glance.

But it's not only the builds that make this world so interesting. The characters, their homes and the spaces they've created make you want to know more about the people actually living here. There are laboratories and strange inventions alongside bars, comfortable bedrooms, games, plants and other little reminders that life continues even in such an unusual post-apocalyptic world.

StrangerVille has never been a world I visit very often, but exploring this version of it has definitely changed that. There's so much personality and storytelling packed into both the massive and minuscule details that these screenshots barely scratch the surface. This is one world worth spending some extra time exploring and getting to know its inhabitants.

Copperdale: After the Outbreak

Once a cozy mountain town filled with families and teenagers, Copperdale has been devastated by a zombie outbreak. A lot has changed, and there's very little left to live on.

Lots include the 20x20 Apocalypse Library, 20x15 Abandoned Store, 30x30 Peak’s Drive-In & Arcade, 30x20 Prepper’s Family Home, 20x20 Abandoned House, 30x30 Abandoned Family Home, 50x40 Aftermath Analysis Center, 20x15 Miller residence, 30x20 End of World Auditorium, 64x64 End of the World High, 20x15 Haven Spa, and 20x15 Wolves Club.

Exploring Copperdale

Copperdale still looks surprisingly green after the zombie outbreak, but the closer you look, the more you see how much has changed. Familiar places have been abandoned, fortified or repurposed as survivors make the most of what remains.

Some of my favorite builds show that adaptation especially well. Towering structures have been pieced together from shipping containers and salvaged equipment, while homes, businesses and familiar landmarks have become overgrown or fallen into disrepair. The abandoned auditorium and vine-covered high school are particularly effective reminders of the life Copperdale once had.

There are still survivors here, though, and plenty of signs that life continues. There is also more happening beneath Copperdale than these screenshots reveal, including hidden spaces that are much more fun to discover for yourself.

How to Download the Sims 4 Apocalypse Save File

The Apocalypse Collab Save File is available through Eryn With a Y's Patreon. Players can download the collaboration there and follow the installation information provided with the Save File.

For Sims 4 Save Files, the save file itself belongs in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves. Before adding any downloaded Save File, I recommend backing up your existing saves folder so your current games are protected. Because the Apocalypse Collab uses such a substantial collection of Sims 4 DLC, it's also worth checking the required packs before beginning. Players who are missing content may find that some objects are removed or replaced when the Save File loads.

Final Verdict

The sheer size of the Sims 4 Apocalypse Save File is impressive, but the scale isn't what has interested me most while exploring it. It's the little things: a tent pitched beside an ancient ruin, books protected inside an overgrown library, a survivor turning an underground bunker into a home, families staying together, survivors caring for their animals and communities finding new purposes for places that survived.

There is destruction throughout these worlds, but there are also constant signs of people rebuilding. That's what makes me want to keep exploring instead of simply looking at each build and moving on to the next.

The world ended. Life didn't. And with so much creativity, storytelling and detail packed into these incredible lots, they feel less like builds and more like works of art that deserve to be seen.
