Freezing during marriage and Family Tree fixes should be fixed with the latest Sims 4 Update!
A new Sims 4 Update has been released across PC, Mac, Xbox and Playstation supported platforms, just a week after the previous Hotfix Update release. As stated this Tuesday, the latest Sims 4 Update is a hotfix for two issues: Freezing during Marriage events and additional fixes to the Family Tree layout, overlapping and more.

IInstalling the Latest Sims 4 Update
You can get the latest The Sims 4 Update on the following official launchers and platforms:
- PC: EA App, Origin, Steam, Epic Games
- Mac: Origin, Steam
- Playstation: PS4 and PS5
- Xbox: Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S
You can download the latest Sims 4 Update by checking for a Patch through the EA App, Steam or Epic Games launcher for Desktop. If you have Automatic Updates enabled the update will automatically download through your client program. In case your EA App is not working properly ensure you’ve cleared your app cache!
If you play The Sims 4 on Xbox Series X / S and Playstation 4 and 5 you can request a new update by checking for updates under The Sims 4 game in the Main Menu. If you’ve enabled automatic updates the Patch should download right away.

- [EA Forums] Resolved an issue found in some save files where the game would freeze when Sims are getting married.
- Family Tree portraits will no longer overlap after a Spouse’s death when there’s a Secret Child.
- [EA Forums] Resolved an issue in some saves where missing connections were appearing in the Family Tree and Sims portraits were not highlighted when selected.
- [EA Forums] Resolved an issue where the game would stop responding when clicking on a Sim from the Family Tree in some save files.

Seems like it fixed the issues that it mentioned in the patch notes so I’m not entirely sure where it broke the game even more.
So no fixes to the broken items in build mode or save issues? Xbox series s player.
