A new, very limited exclusive sale for The Sims 3 has hit the EA App!

A new notification has popped up on the EA App game launcher a couple of hours ago, promoting an exclusive The Sims 3 Sale for PC and Mac players.

The thing is, this Sims 3 Sale is different to previous style of Sims Sales that The Sims Team has done. For starters, we never had an exclusive Sims 3 Sale get promoted on an EA games launcher since maybe 2014? And usually sales like these go in pair with a catalogue of The Sims 4 DLC, so it’s unknown what EA has planned up with this one.

The Sims 3 Sale Offer

The interesting thing about this sale is that it’s available for an entire month! From February 25th until March 26th, 2026 you get to enjoy a catalogue of Sims 3 games for half the price, including the following offers:

• The Sims 3 Expansion Packs (50% off – 10USD)
• The Sims 3 Stuff Packs (50% off – 10USD)
• The Sims 3 World Packs (50% off – 10USD)
• The Sims 3 World Packs – Gold Edition (50% off – $17.50USD)

Could this mean something more?

Sims players over on Reddit have discussed a bit what this Sims 3 sale offer could mean for them. One player stated that it’s weird that the publisher is still putting the same sale offers on a game that’s almost 17 years old. “only half off is insane for a game that old. Newer and better games get put on 75% off more often than sims 3” stated SaveVerris.

Another player mentioned how this could all be just another distraction from talks about the EA buyout. Just giving more reasons for players to spend extra cash on The Sims Franchise. “A lot of people are boycotting ea rn because of the buyout, so I feel like this may be a tactic to try and get people who havent been keeping up to spend money” said Reddit user Scared-Two-5208.

Current rumors about the future of The Sims Franchise predict new methods of monetization for The Sims 4. If we’re already speculating what this Sims 3 Sale could mean in the bigger picture then EA might be giving us just a few more reasons to revisit reliable game classics.
