The Sims 4 Maker Packs Survey: Share Your Opinions With EA!

It’s time to share your feedback with EA on The Sims 4 Maker Packs.

After doing a Survey on The Marketplace, EA conducts a new research specifically for The Sims 4 Maker Packs. There are questions asking players about the general satisfaction of Sims 4 Maker Packs, their quality and showcasing on The Marketplace and more that dive deeper into the player psychology.

Do you as a Sims player feel safe downloading 3rd party Custom Content or is the “Maker Pack” tag on The Marketplace giving you extra reassurance? Plus, are you satisfied with the already set regime of weekly Sims 4 Maker Packs drops? I’ve personally voted that there aren’t enough Maker Pack drops in a week. We need a drop every single day!!!

Here’s all the questions you should expect in the latest official survey from EA:

I have to admit they are pretty brave for even asking how we feel about the market place.

mysia-chan

I have the impression that they keep asking about this markatplace… There was only a survey recently.

It is not uncommon for frequent surveys after a new thing has launched.

Rylanluv

I find it kind of sad and telling that they put this survey out before the Marketplace is even available on consoles. I went to take the survey and the first question is ‘Have you bought something from the Marketplace?’. Well, of course I haven’t! I’m on console, I don’t have access to the Marketplace yet.

I so often hear people claiming that EA/Maxis absolutely doesn’t care about the console players and this kind of feels like it supports that argument. Like they just assume that no one on console will have a valid opinion anyway, so why wait until they can actually weigh in on the subject? *eye roll*

CrispySims

It’s not like the survey is only available to do today. You can always do the survey after you’ve gained access to the marketplace when it becomes available soon.

Rylanluv

Actually, I apparently can’t now. When it asked me that first question and I replied with ‘No’, it ended the whole survey with a tart little message about me not being a ‘right fit for this survey’ and now if I try to access it again, it just says I have already taken it.

So, yeah, I don’t think they were really all that interested in my comments.

Another survey!? Typically, surveys pop up from EA/Maxis when sales are less than stellar and they want to determine how to pivot. One is concerning but twice is telling.

If they want money, they should invest in the game and meet consumer demands. They should make something the community can’t say no to. They should make something players MUST have that works properly and market it like their lives depend on it.

If a Creative Careers expansion pack based around active careers in fashion design & modeling, cosmetology, architecture & home renovation, car restoration, and an active band & music career was announced, everyone would love that because it’s what everyone wants. New ways to customize Sims, new ways to build homes, and new gameplay features – even if cars were a glorified simoleon sink lot teleporters that sims talk, listen to music, and woohoo in.

Instead we get a marketplace no one asked for.

CrispySims

The online community is a minority compared to the playerbase that doesn’t engage with the online community. I’m sure EA isn’t at all worried about sales and according to the insider that The Sims Community keeps drip feeding info from. The Marketplace is exceeding EA’s expectations.

Blair_me

I agree with you. Also that insider who gives some info about project x, etc. mentioned that it’s a typical ea behavior indicating that things don’t go as expected. So they act immediately to correct. So I also think that a surveys which appeated so soon confirms the sales are not as good as they expected. And I’m glad about that fact because I think that virtual currencies must be officially prohibited as gambling.

CrispySims

I don’t think gambling is the right word to use in the case of the Marketplace and Moola because it’s simply not like Lootboxes in other games where you are buying virtual currency and opening mystery boxes. At least with the Marketplace, you can look to see what you are getting if you purchase a maker pack or a kit.

Brit

They never once touch on price. They just don’t want to hear feedback unless they can somehow twist it to be positive for the head honchos.

CrispySims

Yes they did, multiple times. It depends on what you’ve selected in your answers in the survey but I was asked about the pricing multiple times for the different maker packs.
