0

The Gurus have excitingly shared the special previews!

The announcement of The Sims 4 High School Years Expansion Pack is something I’m still catching up onto after yesterday. It really goes without saying that with a Pack this big you have to process information one step at a time.

Not because there’s too much happening, but because it’s too good to be true. Is this really what we’re getting this July?! An Expansion Pack that actually feels like one?!?!

Either way, The Sims 4 High School Years Developers (also known as SimGurus) have shared their In-Game Screenshots from the Pack. Let’s take a look!

I had to make a comparison of my adult and teen self. I just couldn’t figure out if I should’ve gone with my long hair phase or not. Either way. SimGuruGeorge currently, and as a teenager.

The Sims Franchise makes High School History Books by making LGBTQ+ Couples the Starring Roles of a Cover! No straight people this time around. (with all due respect)

Today’s announcement of The Sims 4 High School Years is something we’re still processing here at Sims Community.

Until we do so, here are the assets as per ush. There’s the official Logo, Icon, Screens, Renders and oh…what is that on the Cover?

…Are those…Homosexuals?!

Official Assets of The Sims 4 High School Years

And Lesbians too?!?!

And THAT’S IT???!?!?!

Are my eyes really deceiving me or are LGBTQ+ Sims Characters the main starring role after playing so many diversity token roles in the past?!

That is correct. For the first time ever, The Sims Pack Cover features an ensemble of ONLY LGBTQ+ Characters. And i couldn’t be more happy.

I have more to talk about the History of LGBTQ+ Diversity in The Sims in the coming months. However, let’s get back to our regular schedule of showing you the Official Assets for The Sims 4 High School Expansion Pack!

Boba Tea, Goofy Pranks, Bunch of New Base Game Updates. Oh, and a whole new pack dedicated to HIGH SCHOOL!

The Sims Team has released the first Official Blog Post for The Sims 4 High School Years Expansion Pack.

Check it out!

[The PA system crackles as it turns on and the principal starts their morning announcement.]

Good morning, students and faculty of Copperdale High! Welcome back to another adventure-filled school year. For those of you that are new to our school and town, we’re excited to have you joining our dear community! Once renowned for its booming mining industry, Copperdale is a small town nestled on the banks of Lake LaSuli where you can truly live out your teenage dreams, explore your identity, and test boundaries through choices and growth.

We are so proud of our community creators and the seven lots they built in Copperdale, including MsGryphi, who built ThrifTea–the thrift store and local boba hangout, xfreezerbunnyx, who built the library, and JOL1990, who built the high school principal’s old money mansion.

We’ll be giving tours of the school and town after the final bell today, and all are welcome to join.

Here’s to all the memories we’ll be making together this school year.

Go Copperdale Womp Womps!

Carving Your Own Path in High School

Copperdale High is the center of your teen Sims’ world. Inside these halls, Sims participate in everything that makes high school such a formative time in life, from building lifelong friendships, to selecting our favorite extracurricular activities and graduating into adulthood.

During school hours, Sims attend class, hang out with friends, have lunch in the cafeteria, take weekly exams, and hopefully avoid being scolded by the principal who patrols the halls! After school, students can participate in activities like football, cheerleading, chess, and computer clubs, go to events like the science fair, or head home to their poster-filled bedroom to complete their homework.

In terms of extracurriculars, teen Sims can join an after-school club or team like football or cheer, practice these skill related activities, participate in competitions, and experience the highs and lows of winning and losing alongside your teammates.

You’ll even have the opportunity to navigate through the challenges and joys of young love, whether it’s the blissfulness of the crush stage, or the woes of a teenage breakup. A word of advice: Plumbite Pier is the perfect date spot! There is an amusement park with a haunted house, tunnel of love, a ferris wheel, and a photobooth for memories!

Express Your Creativity With Pranks and Style!

What is high school without a little mischief? In High School Years, discover an all new mischievous side to your teen Sims as they pull pranks. Mark up the whiteboard, leave a stink capsule in your classmate’s locker, or mess with the school’s PA system, but don’t get caught! Successfully pranking other Sims will increase your mischief skill, but being discovered will have consequences on relationships, as well as lead to trust issues.

Back at home, you can make your teen Sim’s bedroom an oasis that fully reflects their personality and style, as unique as they are. Teen Sims can hang out in the bedrooms, with Sims now able to sit crossed-legged on the bed together and have pillow fights. Need to sneak out of the house after curfew? Sims can exit the house via The E window and trellis ladder, and climb down the side of a house.

Fashion is the ultimate form of self-expression, and has always been a huge part of The Sims. As part of The Sims 4 High School Years Expansion Pack, your Sim’s fashion options are growing even larger via a collaboration with Depop, the circular fashion marketplace app where the next generation comes to discover unique items. Sims can discover clothing items designed by real-world Depop sellers Jeremy SalazarSha’an D’Antes, Lapoze McTribouy, Selena Williams and Bella McFadden in-game at the local thrift store and boba hangout, ThrifTea, and earn Simoleons by selling outfits they curate and hype on the new in-game Trendi app and become a “Simfluencer” in the process.

Take pictures of your Sims’ new outfits at the mural from artist Monica Ahanonu, displayed on the side of ThrifTea, drawing inspiration from The Sims x Depop collaboration.

Star Quarterbacks, Prom Queens and Valedictorians

It wouldn’t be a true high school adventure without prom and graduation.

Perhaps the most nerve-wracking yet exciting night of a teen Sims’ high school years is prom. You’ll be able to customize every aspect of your Sim’s prom, beginning with prom preparation and the event itself. Sims can go solo, ask someone to the prom,  go with friends, or skip out altogether. From there, players can dive into the details including creating and presenting a promposal sign, selecting outfits, having friends over to get ready, and voting for prom royalty. Players can also plan out their dance routines, music, snacks, and more. How a Sim prepares for and participates in prom will impact their relationships going forward!

And then, of course, the high school experience culminates with graduation, the ceremony bookending a Sim’s time at Copperdale High. It’s a chance to celebrate with friends and family, and welcome in the next stage of life. Sims can prepare before the main event by inviting guests, deciding their outfit, and acquiring gifts for friends and teachers. All the decisions your Sim has made throughout their high school journey will impact how their graduation plays out. Sims can choose whether or not they attend, but they won’t be invited to graduate if their grades don’t meet the mark!

No matter how you choose to live out your High School Years in The Sims 4, there are no wrong answers. Unless it’s a test you forgot to study for.

That we don’t know what it is!

It’s always the same old same old story. An Expansion Pack gets announced. And SimGurus slowly start unravelling the gift basket of hints to the community!

Except this time around we really don’t see anything.

First Look at SOMETHING in The Sims 4!
Thanks SimGuruGeorge for the screen!

Wait, what is that? Twitter user SpinningPlumbob was able to witness something hiding in the bushes:

Who is she truly?

SimGuruGeorge hinted at tomorrow’s reveal. Will you be around? Let us know what you think this special something is in the comments below!

What is the next Expansion Pack About?

We have several theories and we want to hear yours!

Only a couple of hours until the full reveal of The Sims 4 Teenage Dream High School Graduation Cap S Scribbles Inspired Expansion Pack!

What is the next Expansion Pack About?

The Rise & Shine Teaser has showcased some possible teasers regarding the upcoming Expansion Pack, including;

  • A Graduation Cap with Crayons
  • An S Scribble in the corner
  • I think that’s about it?

Moving to the official video teaser from The Sims Team, we have some information from EA Creators that could hint at the possible upcoming High School content:

In the video interview, EA asks the Creators a series of questions on the past experiences as Teenagers:

The players answered with some fun questions in the video!

What is the next Expansion Pack About?

Here are the replies:

  • “Incredibly awkward and nerdy”
  • “Don’t judge me!”

The parts they loved:

  • “Doing what I want to do!”
  • “Reinvent myself and test things out about myself.”

If there was drama involved what advice they’d share:

  • “Nobody cares what you are doing!”
  • “Not to take things so seriously.”

And if they’d do it again:

  • “Definitely want to go back and prove that I’m the best!”

And that’s about it we know from the Teaser until the full reveal tomorrow!

What is the next Expansion Pack About?

That is all beside the fact that there’s a full blown leak through the EA Survey about a pack named “High School”. A coincidence? I think not. But let’s see what you think!

The Sims 4 “Teenage” Inspired Expansion Pack is getting Announced

The Sims Team has just published a new teaser for the upcoming Expansion Pack for The Sims 4!

On Twitter there is a special video teaser asking creators about their lives as Teenagers:

The premiere of the Expansion Pack will begin tomorrow! And we will be there every step of the way to report on the Pack. Stay tuned!

Everything teased in The Sims 4’s Upcoming Summer

7

What’s in this Roadmap? Let’s take a deep dive into the teaser

The “Stay Up” Roadmap for The Sims 4 lasted for the good 2 months for the game. In fact, we just had a release of The Sims 4 Werewolves Game Pack last week!

The main Sims Community Team is still on Paid Time Off until July and they’re probably off somewhere taking a rest from the weirdest, most rampant marketing technique known to man kind. Seriously though, they probably haven’t even gotten a chance to play with Werewolves completely yet and we’re already talking about the upcoming Expansion Pack. As if The Sims doesn’t only want to burn out Content Creators, but players of their own game as well…

Nonetheless, it’s still going to be a packed summer from the looks of the teaser (and the leaked information that we have). Let’s take a deep dive of what’s ahead of us!

Rise & Shine (and spend your dime!)

Everything teased in The Sims 4’s Upcoming Summer

The Rise & Shine Roadmap will begin this July and will last until September 2022. Across the image teaser there are multiple posters scattered around that hint at multiple things that will be coming in the season ahead. It also includes confirmations regarding Kits, and the upcoming Expansion Pack. Let’s overanalyze this image and speculate on the things we know (and things we could throw wild guesses at):

The Sims 4 High School Expansion Pack

A couple of weeks ago EA accidentally revealed in their survey that “High School” is one of the Expansion Packs for The Sims 4, before the Rise & Shine Teaser was even posted. The survey later got quickly updated with “High School” being removed. Today, with the official Roadmap, there’s now another layer of confirmation to EA’s own leak: High School is definitely happening.

There are posters on the corner below that heavily hint at High School. On the left there’s an “S” scribble that I’m pretty sure we all used to doodle when we were bored at school. On the right there’s a graduation cap with crayons on the bottom, sort of giving a hint that it’s not University, but a school institution that comes before it.

Either way, it looks like a fun time ahead with the High School Pack. At least we hope so.

The Kits

I have only one thing to say – Kits aren’t that bad if they’re done right. The last packed release of Moonlight Chic and Little Campers was one of the better Kits that The Sims Team has done, and I hope The Sims Team continues with attention to details in these releases. Especially if Stuff Packs are now a thing of the past…

In the teaser there have been two Kits announced, one being marked as “Style Kit” and one as “Build Kit”. Yeah, so a CAS and Build Kit are next on the Roadmap.

In the image teaser above we have a lot of Poster illustrations of Cacti, as well as other plants that seem to be revolving around the Outdoors. For the Style Kit it seems we are getting a Shirt and a Hat. That’s about it for the CAS Kit when it comes to the teaser unfortunately…

The Base Game Update

The Teaser also announced that there’s going to be a Base Game Update for The Sims 4. Whenever The Sims Team announces a Base Game Update seperately in their teasers it usually means something big. What’s it about?

In the teaser there’s an image of a Sun along with the Base Game Update. That’s all we have on that…
