Trying to find the best mods for The Sims 4 isn’t always easy. They’re usually scattered all over the internet (if you’re not searching on specific websites such as Mod The Sims) – meaning that you’d have to spend plenty of time searching for them on social networks and google. Luckily, there are blogs and places out there that keep up to date with the latest mods and mod fixes.
Here are the best websites that you can rely on finding the latest (and greatest) mods:
Mod The Sims is one of the greatest Sims websites out there that host a huge collection of mods created by the most talented modders out there. Currently there are over 1200 Mods published on that website.
Still, not all of these Mods are functional, but don’t worry – Mod The Sims will warn you that, in case the modder hasn’t been active for some time and/or that they haven’t been updating the Mod for a specific period after a few patches for The Sims 4 you’ll get a warning on that Mod’s page saying that you might not get the promised functionality that could’ve been corrupted with one of the Sims 4 Updates. It’s a great database with plenty of Mods for you to find with dedicated members who upload mods very frequently.
Lana’s CC Finds website is an excellent blog full of categories that you might be interested in. One of those categories include Mods, which comes as very useful considering the fact that not all modders will upload their creations on Mod The Sims or other dedicated modding websites.
Sims 4 Downloads is yet another great collection of Mods created by other folks in the community. It has a nice layout and great tools that’ll help you find the mod that you’re looking for.
This German website features some great mods that will slightly alter your Sims 4 experience. Even though it’s in Deutsch we’ve linked the website to a translated English page so you can find just what you’re looking for.
Do you have any other sources or websites where you get your Sims 4 Mods from? Let us know in the comments!
Custom Content creator @TheKalino has brought new animals to The Sims 4 My First Pet Stuff’s cage. This Stuff Pack originally comes with only 4 types of small animals, but The Kalino has made it possible so that you enjoy in a much bigger variety of caged animals in your game.
Although they all act pretty much the same the recolors of these small animals that were made possible to work with My First Pet Stuff still look amazing. You can also download the Natural Cage Recolors which come in 6 different styles (one of them being created completely out of the cardboard texture).
These can be downloaded by clicking the download button below. To install these all you have to do is extract the .zip content to Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods folder. Make sure you have Mods / CC enabled in your game options. Also, please note that The Sims 4 My First Pet Stuff is required to be installed in order to enjoy these new caged animals.
icemunmun, a talented modder on Mod The Sims has published a new Gameplay Mod, letting you craft candles in The Sims 4!
This mod goes all in with gameplay features such as leveling up the candle making skill by crafting the candles, selling candles, placing them in your home and having them influence your Sim’s mood. Creating candles also requires certain ingredients for you to have in your Sim’s inventory. These include Wick, Dye, Glitter and Wax which you can obtain by purchasing the Candle Making Kit. Some of the candles also require specific herbs and objects in your inventory.
You can get this Mod by clicking the button below. It can be easily installed by extracting the .zip content to Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods folder. Make sure you have Mods / CC enabled in your game options!
We interviewed Brittany Henry (also known as SimGuruBritt on Twitter) – the Lead Producer of The Sims Mobile. In case you’re not familiar with her work, she’s also been a SimGuru before during The Sims 3 days, where she worked on Expansion Packs for The Sims 3 at EA Salt Lake.
Now, Brittany is (publicly) back to talk about the latest Sims game she’s been working on! In the interview below we learn more about the past, the present and even the future of The Sims Mobile and its development. Check it out!
The Sims Mobile went through a very different, long process of releasing to players worldwide. What’s the difference between launching a PC game and launching a Mobile game?
BH: The community feedback! The amazing thing about making a mobile game is the ability we have to quickly react to our players. We form an idea, work on it, see how everyone reacts, and then make changes to make the experience better.
We saw plenty of things being added (and removed) throughout the soft launch period. What helped you determine what people liked and disliked about the game during that period?
BH: Oh man, we used every avenue we could think of to help us make decisions during soft launch! We ran surveys, held focus groups, did Q&A with some of our Game Changers, read feedback on the Internet… We observed how players interacted with different features and activities in the game. And of course, we played constantly and asked ourselves what we as players would enjoy. That led to some hard decisions, but I’m really proud of where the game is now.
For example, the aspect of death was present in The Sims Mobile for some time but was removed during the development process.
What was the decision behind adding nostalgic but unique soundtrack from The Sims 2 to The Sims Mobile?
BH: For this question, I went straight to our Audio Director, Robi Kauker. Robi is the driving force behind all of our amazing audio content. Here’s his take on it: “Funny thing is that we started with The Sims 4 music… [but] the intimacy of the game play wanted something different than The Sims 3 or 4 full orchestra sounds. Art direction always feeds into it, certain music clicks with certain art styles. Silas Hite, the composer, really made it unique for The Sims Mobile, the influence of The Sims 2 music is there, but you’d be surprised by how much The Sims 3 and 4 music plays into it as well… it’s a great legacy to be a part of.”
Is there anything The Sims Mobile team who previously worked on PC games have learned about mobile gaming throughout the soft launch period?
BH: Mobile moves fast! We would take an idea, brainstorm it, and within a couple days have a basic experience in the game that we can all play and react to. The changes to Sim aging are a good example of this. Once we knew automatic aging wasn’t working, we quickly had the basics of the new day rewards screen in game and could immediately tell that it was a much better experience to build on.
What inspired you to add Izzy’s Fashion Shop?
BH: The Sims has always been about customization; that’s what makes it so special. We wanted to play with customization even more, and make something where players could create clothing that is totally unique to show off their style at parties. When we first brainstormed the idea of a clothing shop, we knew we wanted a quirky character. (It was originally a much less cool guy called “Professor Bobbins”, lol.) Our amazing art team ran with the idea and Izzy was born!
We love progressing through stories and unlocking story items. What inspired you to add them during the soft launch period?
BH: I’m so glad you like them! SimGuruMiriam does most of the writing, and I absolutely love her work. At some point during soft launch, we realized that we had been focusing so hard on the mechanics of the game that we had left behind the humor and quirkiness that we all love about The Sims. What we had was just that – a mechanical experience with little narrative. Stories were one of the ways to start adding that emotional connection back into the game. Our first brainstorm was insane – I think we had almost 100 ideas for crazy stories we could tell. Once Miriam started writing, it was pretty clear that something special was happening, and we are excited to keep adding great stories.
The Sims Mobile had a really successful launch week. Does that mean that we can expect plenty of new and exciting things in the future?
BH: I’ll just say THANK YOU to all of our players for making launch week so awesome. And that other than other than the occasional cupcake break, we are definitely not resting over here 🙂
The Sims Mobile reached over 10 million downloads on Google Play in less than 3 weeks!
Plenty of Simmers are currently experiencing issues where they’re unable to play the game due to getting the “incompatible device” message even though they meet all the basic requirements and can play games that are much more demanding than The Sims Mobile.
Can we expect The Sims Mobile to be updated and released for new android devices in the near future?
BH: We are always working on making the experience better, faster, stronger. We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the game.
What are some of the team’s favorite features in the game?
BH: I think we all have our personal favorites, but stickers, parties, and stories are definitely hot topics of conversation in the office. As I’m typing this, we’re in the middle of the hot tub event, and those that have the hot tub are bragging, while those of us who don’t are jealous and grumbling.
Any final words?
BH: Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who is playing, reviewing, streaming, tweeting, and blogging. Your excited comments make our day. In the end, it’s all about you, and we hope to keep meeting and (hopefully) exceeding your high expectations.
The Sims Mobile is now available for download for both iOS and Android devices. You can get it HERE!
The Sims Mobile’s latest update brought some…strange animations to your Sims when using the Hot Tub from the Hot Tub Dreams event. Using any interaction on the Hot Tub will result in…well…this:
The Sims Mobile team is aware of this issue and promises to fix it in a future update:
The team is aware and working on fixing this for a future update. Though I kind of want to keep this bug forever because it makes me laugh.
EA_Mage has just confirmed that there won’t be a quarterly teaser for upcoming Sims 4 content for the period of April to June 2018. Considering that quarterly teasers were a concept created by SimGuruDrake who left The Sims Team a few weeks ago we still yet have to find out if Quarterly Teasers will continue in July 2018 or not.
However, we did get a confirmation that there are some exciting news that’ll be revealed really soon and that The Sims Team is working on some great stuff.
Hello all,
This quarter we will not be releasing a teaser.
Although, there will not be a new Sims Quarterly Teaser, stay tuned as we have some exciting news to share with you soon. The good news: we’re working on some great stuff!
Thank you for your patience and keep an eye on the forums and other official Sims channels for more info as it becomes available.
Spring is here in The Sims Mobile and we’re egg-cited to hop right into the game’s second worldwide event. Your Sims will be collecting spring eggs by doing a series of time limited quests. There are a total of 5 eggs to collect during this event. Collecting all 5 eggs and finishing the time limited quests will reward you with an adorable stuffed bunny for your little Sims to play with.
After updating your game, you’ll see some new quests available for your Sims to do. The first quest in your Quest Log will have a gold Limited Time ribbon above it. These quests with golden ribbons on top of them are event quests. You should focus almost exclusively on these limited time events during quests because as the ribbon says; they’re only here for a limited time. Once the event ends, those quests and their rewards will be gone for good.
Your first event quest will officially kick off the spring egg hunt by rewarding your Sims with their very own shelf to display their eggs on. It’s an easy quest, too. Just tap on your Sim’s couch and select Search for Shelf. If your Sims don’t have a couch, purchase one in the Home Catalog.

To place your Sims’ new shelf, open the Home Catalog and go to your household inventory. Select the shelf out of the inventory and drag it out to place it on any wall where there is space available. Be careful not to place the shelf below another wall decoration or you won’t be able to place your eggs on it.
Unlike the hot tub event, your Sims will earn their eggs by completing the quests, so success isn’t as random in this event. Even if you bought a lot of goody bags in the last event, there was still a chance you would not end up with a hot tub because the prizes in the bags were random. This doesn’t seem to be the case this time around. You earn eggs by completing quests so the more quests you complete during the event, the more eggs you will collect.
The quests start off fast and easy, like searching behind your couch or attending a party, but eventually increase in time and difficulty. Luckily, many of these quests make use of things you’d likely already be doing in the game every day, anyway, like completing relationship and career events and giving out stickers. This means participating in the egg hunt quests won’t throw you off your daily rhythm too much.

If you’re ever unsure of how to complete an event quest, tap the question mark on that quest for more information on how to complete it. Remember, make the event quests your main focus because they’re only here for a short time. Playing often and completing lots of quests will allow you to collect the most eggs.
To display an egg on your shelf, open the Home Catalog and go to your household inventory. Drag the egg out of the inventory and place it on any of the blue highlighted spaces on the shelf.
Millie Bobby Brown, one of the main stars in Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things has just published a new tweet, saying that she’s now a Sims Ambassador and that you can get her own Sim in The Gallery.
Unlike previous celebrity ads that we got for The Sims 4, this one doesn’t have a #Ad on the ending, meaning that there could potentially be more to the #SimsAmbassador hashtag that Millie shared.
Doing interactions on Sims will no longer give you bigger event points. By completing them you’ll only be getting 10 points in exchange for 1 energy while completing object interactions (together with that other Sim) will give you 20 event points in exchange for 2 energy.
