Cozy Coffee and Modern Basics Sims 4 Maker Packs have just hit The Marketplace!
ARTICLE UPDATE: The Sims 4 Cozy Coffee Maker Pack has been updated to a new price – from 6USD to 5USD – or 500 Moola.

The day after this price change the creator behind this set, icemunmun, released this statement on their Patreon profile:
Hello after the release of my marketplace set I have received some questions and criticism so I would like to answer some stuff –
I participated because –
- I was asked and have worked with EA on a few projects earlier
- Tool appeared quite interesting – sort of a challenge to make do with smaller polycount and textures even though stuff was non functional. I had a lot of ideas for decor which does not fit my usual mods.
- I had intense FOMO. I just knew I would have died if I refused and then saw others participating so I decided to participate ( Same thing always happens in real life!!)
Price Concerns –

- I had requested a price change a while back which was reflected sometime after the release.
- I have heard the criticism about the high price and IF I make other sets later I will price them accordingly

600 moolah seems a little much for the coffee decor items. That equates to $7.50. Don’t get me wrong, theyre cute, but I think 300 to 500 moolah makes a little more sense.
600? delusional.
Maxis sure is pushing these releases out, which signals to me the fish aren’t biting and they’re trying to see what sticks. It’s still the first month.
Charging $6 for 16 CLUTTER items, after everyone complained about paying $5 for 16 FURNITURE items is absolutely a choice.
Not to mentions there’s no way to purchase 600 moolah. You have either buy 1000 for $10 or 500 & 200 for $7.50. Not only is the pack overpriced, I have to pay even more for it? Absolutely not.
Why would I do that?
It is my understanding that these sets go live whenever a Maker publishes the Maker Pack and it gets approved. So it’s not really Maxis pushing the sets out, it is the Makers that are submitting the packs and the packs getting aprroved. Blame the Maker for the 600 moola choice, since they are the ones setting what they think their content is worth. As for your comment on “the fish aren’t biting, it’s already been confirmed that the Marketplace is hitting expectations. Just because you are seeing a small fraction of disliking for the Marketplace online doesn’t mean to say it isn’t doing well. The online community is a very small fraction of the actual player base. There’s more players that enjoy the game that are not a part of the online community.
These appear to be releasing in batches, hence why I said it as such.
Also, I’m aware of the perception vs what may be the reality but we have no way to perceive sales beyond what we see. Maxis releasing a survey doesn’t sound like good news to me so early after launch.
However, I’m not going to shill on behalf of a modders nickling and diming their virtual peers. $6 for 16 pieces of virtual clutter? Feel free to pay more for less is you’d like, I won’t. 🙂
It’s kinda disappointing to see that, despite everything, you still promote the Marketplace. And no, you don’t really support CC creators when they only get 30% of the price. You support EA.
My pov on this is by them speaking on the sets, it helps us pull support from the creators, siting the marketplace as a reason. Force them to pull from the maker program
Yeah, reporting they came out is not an issue, but then buying and reviewing them…
This is just the creators showing their full colors by charging an arm and a leg for bare minimum…I urge people to boycott these creators that are making stuff for the marketplace.
Huh? In my game it appears that the first one is 500, it’s still much, but not more expensive than the rest of them
I’m sorry, ten bucks for a bunch of CUPS?! Tell him he’s dreamin’
The cups are ridiculously overpriced and I hope they don’t sell any. The clothing is just plain lazy, there isn’t a single item that I don’t already have in base game! The jeans are just the ones we got for free recently, the skirt is in game, the jacket is basegame, the socks looks like base game socks. This isn’t even frankenmech, this is just recolours or or less. Horrible. I really hope you’re not going to be promoting every single pack on here? I noticed that the free options alternative isn’t included in the post either?
Please keep posting about new sets as they come out. It helps me stay updated on what is published (I’m not buying, but I still want to know what happens) while I’m out of the game. And when I get into it, I can just focus on playing. Thanks Sims community
Who cares? I don’t even need to read the article to know it’s not worth it. Anyone who buys from the marketplace is funding the sale to Trump’s buddy and Slavers
You do realize that EA was owned by trumps side for many years and as of the current buyout, it’ll barely owned by that ilk. Try a different approach, buddy
If you mean ‘Murica by “Trump’s side”, there’s a company being from a country, and then there’s a country/other company owning it. If that’s not it, I’m curious as to what you did mean.
The original price for the cups was 600 moola? More than a kit for less items than a kit? The marketplace must really be exceeding EA expectations if they think that was a fair price to launch this set. But even if it is now reduced to 500 moola, I am not updating to the marketplace for this.
First ones that I actually liked in some extent. But no, it’s absolutely not worth the absurd price, just as the other packs
As the shitfest goes on over there, I just sigh at the thought of someone here buying these to review for an article.
Well. I sure hope not feeling bad for a short while was worth selling out and showing your community–who has supported you for years, mind you–who you really are. FOMO. FOMO!. What is this, middle school?!
My confusion is, fear of missing out on… what? Being taken advantage of in order to take advantage of others?
Heeeeeeccckk if I know. Fear of missing out on not having your (general, meaning in this case IMM) name in EA’s lights? Fear of missing out on community participation which, if that was the case IMM has been well known for years for releasing good quality mods so that shouldn’t have been the issue.
There’s just. Nothing to miss out on, genuinely. Money? She was (is?) Early Access and has (had) a decent Patreon following for it. A loyal following? Had/has that already! Attention? Again, had that already and has probably gotten more than she bargained for with her taking part in this nonsense so. I just don’t know.
And the price change from 600 to 500 is crazy, as if 500 isn’t still over priced. Even if I was delusional enough to think the buyout “isn’t that serious” or “what happens in Saudi Arabia doesn’t effect me,” I can do math. I’m not paying $5 for 16 clutter items.
Pricing it at 600 (or any of the random prices they have) just tells me the creators aren’t at all engaged in that the actual purchasing price of these items and not actively considering that no one can purchase 600 Moolah and have to make a much larger purchase to get more than the worth of the set. Girl, be serious lol
And the items are small. Not even worth $5 for 16 items.
Yeah, I can’t, sims 4 is a rich persons game already in the states. I live in the poorest state in America. I have to save as much money as I can just to survive.
I’ve lost all respect for Icemunmun and creators that have become makers.
