A hotfix for a Sims 4 Update fixing a false Trojan Horse Virus report!

EA has just released a new The Sims 4 Update just for Windows PC users, addressing the new false Windows reports that the game contains a Trojan virus.

This issue has now been addressed, and if you haven't downloaded the update two days ago, you should only expect one update today that resolves everything. If you've already updated from July 21st, this Windows-only update will fix all launch issues.

Considering that this is a hotfix for a launch issue, you shouldn't expect any Mods or CC to be affected by this changes, as the game version will remain the same to the one from July 21st Patch Release.

CONVERSATION 2

Sul Sul, Simmers,

a targeted Windows-only update is rolling out now to resolve the digital signature issue preventing The Sims 4 from launching.

Since this fix only updates the launcher, your game version will not change and your mods/CC will be completely unaffected.

Thank you all for your patience while we got this sorted out!

With their history I wait a few days before updating because I really do not believe they test these patches before releasing. The prior stairs issue and now this just confirms my decision to wait is the best one.

Does anyone else have a problem with custom content showing up in build/buy? For example: My CC TV shows up in game, but if I try to buy another one, it just doesn’t show up in build/buy. I can search for it and it shows the correct name, but if I click on it, it just doesn’t exist…
(Mods are activated and MC Command Center and other script mods work)
    Man, I really hate EA…

Yes, I’m having this exact problem too.

There was just this one thing that’s been fixed now and the previous update just caused only a couple of insignificant issues that were fixed on the 21st. I’m not having any of these problems on pc, or ps4. This update really sped up performance. People have been asking for extra focus on fixing the game for years and that’s what they’ve been doing for about a year now and the game has majorly improved in that time. If they fix 100 things and two break that’s still a vast improvement.

    Hi,

This is probably not the place for it, but being as how I’m here now. It’s been well over a dozen years, why am I still moving my rugs around when I drag my mouse? Can we please just have things stay where they’re put?
