We recently took a look at some of the ways you can make The Sims 4 look and feel even better, particularly when it comes to High School Years and the world of Copperdale. Of course, creating the perfect atmosphere for your game is about more than lighting, graphics and those little details that bring everything together. Sometimes, the biggest difference comes from the places our Sims actually spend their time. And considering our teens spend a rather large chunk of their lives at school, Copperdale High School seems like a pretty good place to start!

The Sims 4 community certainly hasn't been short of ideas when it comes to giving Copperdale High a makeover. From traditional schools that wouldn't look out of place in a teen drama to colorful modern campuses, sprawling academies and even schools that look like they belong in another universe entirely. So, for our next Sims 4 Community Gallery Showcase, we're heading back to school and taking a look at builds created by some incredibly talented Simmers.

Back to School

If you've played with The Sims 4 High School Years for a while, chances are you've thought about replacing the default Copperdale High School at least once. After all, this is where so many of our teenage Sims' stories unfold. including the occasional Sim deciding that push ups are far more important than getting to class on time. Naturally. And of course the T-pose...
Whether you're looking for something realistic, grand, modern, colorful, spooky or completely futuristic, there are some seriously fun options to be found. More importantly, these builds give our teenage Sims a whole new backdrop for all the chaos that comes with High School Years.
Copperdale High School - Mishakaykay

There are those builds that make you stop, and really look, I mean really look. At the details, at the thought behind the architecture, at the placement of objects and where things are in relation to everything else. This is one of those builds! From the grand and impressive entrance to the small blankets sneakily laid out under a tree outside in the back, everything is just amazing. I thought I had 1 favorite high school build but this one has definitely just been added to that list!
This build has such a wonderfully grand, almost storybook feel to it, with its central clock tower immediately making the school feel like a real Copperdale landmark. Inside, this one is absolutely packed with all the things! The layout feels really substantial, with classrooms positioned around a large central hallway. There are dedicated spaces for different activities and subjects, plus lots of little corners where students can study, chat or sneak in a bit of socializing between lessons.
I particularly like how colorful the interiors are without becoming overwhelming, with soft greens, warm woods and cheerful pops here and there giving the whole school a friendly, lived in atmosphere. This is definitely one for players who want their Copperdale High to feel big, busy and full of possibilities, with plenty for teen Sims to get up to long after the bell rings!

Copperdale High School v2 - LadyChaosWorlds

This Copperdale High School by LadyChaosWorlds feels less like one enormous school building and more like a sprawling, slightly quirky campus that has grown and changed over the years. The landscaping is especially lovely, with mature trees, a winding large pond (one might even say lake in this case), rocks, wildflowers and thick planting making parts of the grounds feel almost like a little nature reserve. It gives the whole school so much personality and really sells the idea of a long established Copperdale institution.
There is an incredible amount on the campus too. A fantastic gymnasium with a full basketball court and tiered bleachers is in one hall, a full sized swimming pool in another with an upstairs area you could turn into anything you would like... seniors secret hangout spot maybe? I really like that everything is not contained, as students actually have to move around the grounds to reach different parts of the school, which makes the lot feel much more active during the day.
There is even a basement level theatre for all the drama students out there! This whole lot feels perfect for Copperdale students making memories here.

Copperdale High School - buzz1223

Buzz1223 has such a grand, established feel, like the sort of school generations of Copperdale families have attended and still talk about years later. The tall brick clock tower instantly gives it a classic movie high school look, while the sprawling wings, huge arched windows and mixture of brick and pale siding make the building feel as though it has been extended and renovated over time.
The colorful glass canopy adds a much more playful touch to all that traditional architecture. I also really like all the rooftop detailing, from the skylights and glass dome to the vents and curved roofing, as it makes this enormous building feel structured from every angle.
The school has been designed with both academics and activities in mind, with everything from wood shop to chess club included inside, so there should be plenty for different types of teenage Sims to get involved with. It feels prestigious without being overly fancy, busy without becoming chaotic, and absolutely packed with the sort of little details that make a school feel like it has its own history and traditions.

90s High School - SimCubeez

Look at this build! This 90s High School has such a fun, nostalgic campus feel, with a slightly polished 90s teen movie look that immediately makes me imagine all sorts of high school drama happening here! The main building has a warm Mediterranean inspired design with cream stucco, terracotta roofing, tall arched windows and a large clock above the entrance, while the landscaped grounds make everything feel wonderfully established.
I love how much personality has been squeezed into the whole build. There are colorful painted areas, little gathering spots and plenty of places where students could realistically spend their lunch breaks or hang out before class.
Inside, this is plenty for teenage Sims to do. Alongside the classrooms and cafeteria, SimCubeez has included a computer room, library, basketball court, robotics lab, music room and gym, so it feels like a proper functioning school rather than just a collection of classrooms. There is even a rooftop garden, which is such a cute addition and gives students a quieter little escape from the chaos downstairs.
It has that perfect coming of age movie energy where you can practically picture the cliques gathering in the hallways, friendships forming over lunch and somebody dramatically racing across campus because they are definitely late for class again!

Copperdale High School - schnuck01

Schnuck01 goes in a different direction, swapping the traditional schoolhouse look for something much more contemporary and architectural. The exterior is made up of bold, boxy shapes, with enormous geometric windows and black structural details giving the whole building a really striking modern finish.
This one feels like the sort of newly built school that would have incredible facilities hidden behind those huge windows. The mixture of different heights and flat roof sections gives the building loads of character without making it feel fussy, while all those windows should bring plenty of natural light into the interiors.

Copperdale High School - Simlicy

This high school has such a wonderfully classic, almost nostalgic feel to it, with a symmetrical brick and pale stone exterior that looks right at home in Copperdale. The central entrance is the real focal point, with wide steps leading up to the double doors, school banners hanging either side and a little clock tucked into the peaked roofline above.
I like all the trees and planting around the building, which softens up the brickwork beautifully and makes it feel like a school that has been part of the neighborhood for years.
This build is not trying to be an enormous grand academy or a super modern campus. This build simply looks like the sort of high school generations of Copperdale teens could have attended.

Futuristic High School - RGeetect

This is certainly one way to make school a little more exciting! RGeetect takes Copperdale High School well into the future with this huge sci fi campus, filled with sweeping curved buildings, glass walkways, glowing blue details and plenty of greenery to soften all that shiny white architecture. Even the landscaping feels futuristic, with illuminated pathways, rooftop gardens and bright pink trees adding splashes of color throughout the grounds. There is a well incorporated monorail style station running straight through the campus, because apparently the school bus just isn't futuristic enough! All the personal touches as well as the well sculpted futuristic ways of travel just add to the overall feel of the build.
Inside, that same theme continues through the classrooms and communal spaces, with computer filled desks, huge digital screens and glowing floors making lessons feel suitably high tech. It's a wonderfully different take on Copperdale High and one that could be especially fun if your save leans into science, technology, aliens or anything slightly out of this world. Who says school has to be boring? And in the evening? A masterpiece!

Monster High School - sydneymacoretta

I watched Monster High many moons ago, so my memory is vague at best but this school is out of this world! It throws the traditional school rulebook straight out of the window, replacing it with a gloriously gothic campus that looks incredible once night falls. The towering dark stone exterior, pointed windows and castle inspired architecture are illuminated with pink, purple and orange lighting, while the enormous lightning bolts above the entrance make sure there is absolutely no mistaking this school for anywhere else.
Inside, the color palette gets even more playful, mixing black and white checkerboard floors with pastel blue, pink, purple and flashes of bright green. There are classrooms, lockers, science spaces and a cafeteria, alongside a stage and seating area that gives students somewhere to perform. Head further upstairs and you will even find beautifully decorated bedrooms and living spaces, making the school look as though it could double as a wonderfully weird boarding school. It is dramatic, colorful and completely over the top in the best possible way, and easily one of the most distinctive High School replacements in this collection.

Copperdale High School - wrathofcath

This modern Copperdale High School by wrathofcath gives teen Sims a seriously upgraded place to spend their school days! Built with a bold contemporary design, the school has a striking black exterior, huge windows and a bright glass entrance. Outside, students can head to the football field complete with scoreboard and spectator benches, while the spacious interior is arranged across multiple levels around a colorful central school hub.
There is so much packed inside this build, with several fully furnished classrooms, a library and computer area, cafeteria, auditorium, nurse’s office and comfortable student spaces for hanging out between lessons.
The pastel peach and turquoise palette running through much of the school keeps everything feeling cheerful and cohesive, while the darker auditorium adds plenty of contrast. It feels busy, functional and full of storytelling possibilities, making this such a fun replacement for the original Copperdale High School!

Copperdale High School - iamdicee

Rather than one enormous building, the school is divided into connected sections. There is loads packed inside too! One whole section is dedicated to a fantastic full sized indoor basketball court, with changing facilities and workout equipment nearby. The main academic building includes plenty of practical school spaces, alongside areas for creative activities and places for students to sit and socialize.
The cafeteria feels bright, cheerful and actually somewhere your Sims might want to spend their lunch break. Even the classrooms have lots of lovely little details. It is a really fun choice if you want to give Copperdale a fresh, modern makeover while still keeping everything your teen Sims need for a very busy school day.

Copperdale High School - Lilolakes

The rock detailing on this build is gorgeous! And the whole school has such a great modern campus feel, with loads of glass, warm wood tones and pale stone creating something that feels fresh and stylish without being too clinical. The building is nestled into the landscape beautifully, making it feel like the school has been designed around its surroundings. I especially love all the little outdoor spaces tucked around the building.
Inside the colorful lockers, casual seating and bright study areas give it a properly youthful feel. There is an indoor swimming pool, sports facilities, creative spaces and some really cozy hangout areas.
I love how much personality has been worked into every corner, as it feels like a school that has been shaped by the students who use it rather than somewhere perfectly staged.

Modern Small High School - prettysparkle

If huge sprawling schools aren't really your thing (or your computer/consoles thing), prettysparkle has gone in the opposite direction with this Modern Small High School. The main building has a clean, contemporary black and white exterior with huge windows, while the surrounding grounds do a lot with the remaining space. There's parking beneath a rather fabulous solar panel canopy, bike racks, plenty of greenery and outdoor basketball courts, giving the whole lot the feel of a smaller, modern community school.
The compact design continues inside, where everything your teens need has been fitted into a much more manageable space. There are classrooms, lockers, bathrooms, a cafeteria and art space, plus a gym area upstairs, so you're not sacrificing the school experience just because the building is smaller. In fact, that's really the appeal here. Your Sims can spend less time trekking across an enormous campus and more time actually getting to class before that bell rings. No more after school detention because the classroom was too far from the cafeteria!

High School - NolanaSims

NolanaSims high school has such a wonderfully grand, traditional feel, and it honestly looks like the sort of school that has been standing in Copperdale for generations. The red brick exterior, crisp white detailing, towering windows and formal entrance give it that slightly prestigious academy look, while the fountain, statues, manicured greenery and tall trees make the grounds feel beautifully established.
There is even a basketball court out back, along with picnic tables and outdoor seating, so students have somewhere to escape between classes, catch up with friends or dramatically discuss whatever teenage catastrophe has happened before lunchtime. Inside, the school is just as impressive, with a really lovely symmetrical layout that makes such a large building feel easy to navigate. The upper floor gives students more places to gather and spend their free time, like the music room and library.

Copperdale High School - SakuraLeon

This Copperdale High School has such a cool contemporary look, feeling more like a stylish modern academy than your typical high school! The exterior mixes crisp white brick, charcoal panels and soft yellow accents with huge walls of glass and bold black structural details. The oversized school lettering gives the entrance loads of personality and makes the whole building instantly stand out. There is a little parking area out front, bike racks by the entrance and plenty of greenery around the grounds.
There is a bright cafeteria with colorful picnic style tables, very spacious classrooms to fit multiple Sims, a decent sized basketball court and some fun extra rooms filled with activities like art and debate. It has plenty of seating outside beneath the trees creating a lovely social space for lunch breaks and after school gossip. It feels fun, functional and just a little bit edgy, perfect for giving your Copperdale teens a much cooler place to survive their high school years!

Copperdale High School - giuliabuilds

This is such a gorgeous blend of traditional architecture and modern school life, and honestly looks more like a prestigious private academy! I really love how giuliabuilds has broken up all that traditional architecture with the curved, glass fronted modern extension on one side.
Inside there is SO much going on, it actually gives your Sims space to live out their school days. This is a big build, a big one BUT the classrooms and cafeteria are still relatively close enough that there is time for lunch between your lessons of the day. There is also a library and study areas, and a very large auditorium, plus a full basketball gym tucked towards the back. The central green courtyard definitely pulls the eye in which also brings loads of light and greenery into the middle of the school and gives students somewhere to hang out between classes.
With plenty of little social spaces scattered throughout, it feels much more alive than simply being a collection of classrooms. It is a seriously detailed build with that perfect old school meets new school feel, and a lovely option if you want Copperdale High to feel grand, busy and just a little bit fancy!

Copperdale High School - johnathankircus1

This High school, with a sleek, almost university style design, feels great for a more modern generation of Copperdale teens. The mix of crisp white finishes, warm timber cladding, huge walls of glass and those fabulous wooden screens creates such a polished exterior, while the staggered buildings and open courtyards stop the enormous 64x64 lot from feeling like one giant block. I especially love all the greenery worked into the architecture, with raised planters, trees, flowerbeds and landscaped terraces softening all those clean modern lines.
Wide corridors, open staircases, colorful seating areas and plenty of glass allowing you to peek between different parts of the campus is what welcomes you inside. Lots of spaces for students to gather, hang out and pretend they are definitely not avoiding their homework, plus outdoor courtyards that make the whole place feel wonderfully connected. It feels stylish, expensive and very teen drama ready.

Trinity High School - simsalabims

This High School by simsialabims looks like the kind of ridiculously beautiful private school that comes with generations of history, strict traditions and probably a very dramatic student body! Inspired by Cambridge Trinity College, the sprawling campus mixes grand stone architecture with warm red brick, huge arched doorways, climbing greenery and rows of traditional dormer windows. I like that the different wings do not perfectly match too, as it gives the impression that the school has been expanded and added to over many years.
There is so much packed inside for your teen Sims to actually do, and there are also loads of cozy social areas scattered around. Outdoor courtyards running right through the centre of the school also brings all that greenery into the heart of the build.
It feels much more like an exclusive boarding school or university campus than your average high school, and I can already imagine the storytelling possibilities here. Academic rivalries, secret crushes by the fountain, sneaking away from class and Sims desperately trying to maintain the family reputation all feel completely at home at Trinity High!

Copperdale HighSchool - pxlombi

This recreation gives the High School Years campus a much bigger, busier and more believable feel, while still fitting beautifully into Copperdale. The modern school mixes warm orange brickwork with huge stretches of glass and a bright central atrium, giving the whole place that slightly intimidating “first day at a new school” scale!
Outside, students have plenty of space to gather before the bell rings. I like how much is happening on the rooftops too, with a running track transformed into a colorful student hangout complete with picnic tables, umbrellas, mats, balloons and even a firepit. It makes the school feel like somewhere teens might actually want to spend time rather than somewhere they immediately flee from at 3pm!

Inside, pxlombi has packed an impressive amount into the campus. Sports are very well catered for too, with a full indoor basketball court, swimming pool, outdoor courts and football space, while the school also has lots of smaller areas for those all important between class conversations.
There is even a dedicated auditorium tucked into the build, complete with tiered seating and a proper stage, so your teens have somewhere suitably dramatic for school events. With so many different spaces placed into one enormous campus, this feels less like a backdrop for the school day and much more like a complete teen gameplay hub.
Copperdale High School - JessicapieYT

A gorgeous traditional academy feel, with its grand brick façade, crisp white detailing and huge dark roof topped with a central clock tower, what more could you need? The symmetrical architecture makes it feel wonderfully established and prestigious, while the sweeping entrance stairs, columns, arched lower walkways and manicured greenery give the front of the school loads of character.
Outside there are fenced courts (basketball/football) tucked around the sides, making the whole lot feel really well planned. And then inside the school is just as detailed, with lots of different spaces for students to spend their day. It's grand, just like the grand piano in the music room on the top floor and bold like the paintings all over the walls in the art class. It's spacious like the seating in the indoor basketball court and it's been thought through by seeing the placement of everything in relation to each other (like the cafeteria and the classrooms... it's a thing for me ok?)
I especially love how the warm wooden floors and darker furnishings give the interiors that slightly old school, traditional atmosphere while still feeling welcoming and functional for gameplay. This feels like the kind of Copperdale High where your teen Sims could make plenty of memories, whether they are studying hard, joining clubs or spending far too much time chatting between classes!

Copperdale High School - MarmeladArt

A convincing modern public school, that's what I see and feel when I look at this build. A big three story structure finished in warm terracotta, cream and soft grey tones. I love how practical and believable the exterior looks, from the long rows of classroom windows to the covered main entrance, clock and flagpoles out front.
Inside is a fantastic auditorium complete with a proper stage, lighting and rows of seating. The mood in there is just perfect. There is also a separate gymnasium with a full basketball court and changing facilities, plus loads of outdoor seating for students to hang out during lunch.
I enjoy how the school wraps around several green courtyard areas, bringing lots of trees and natural light into what could otherwise have been a very large, boxy campus. It feels like a proper bustling high school with everything your Sims could need for a full day of classes, activities and teenage chaos!

Copperdale High School - simmer_adelina

This build has such a lovely, relaxed campus feel. The main building is an interesting shape, with two low wings surrounding a taller curved central entrance, giving the school a really open and welcoming layout. Pale stone walls, flat roofs and decorative detailing keep everything bright and cohesive, while the huge amount of greenery stops it from ever feeling too formal.
I especially love the little courtyard spaces around this one. There is a big lawn beside the entrance with the Copperdale mascot proudly standing in the middle, plus a paved social area filled with picnic tables that feel perfect for lunch breaks. Simmer_adelina also built this using limited packs, making it a brilliant option if you want something detailed and full of character without needing a huge collection.

Castle High School - xXSarina_27xX

It's a castle... A castle that takes the whole idea of a prestigious private academy and turns it into something wonderfully extravagant! This enormous château inspired building looks more like a historic European palace than somewhere your Sims would be heading for maths class. Its pale stone and brick façade is packed with beautiful architectural details, from the steep mansard style roof and rows of ornate dormer windows to the grand central clock and huge rounded turret on one side.
The landscaping is every bit as impressive as the building itself, and I love how completely surrounded by greenery the school feels. This build has the sort of grounds where I can absolutely imagine students sneaking away between classes to gossip somewhere suitably picturesque! It is gloriously over the top for a high school, but that is exactly what makes this one so much fun. If you fancy turning Copperdale High into an elite old world academy with serious boarding school drama potential, this gorgeous castle certainly delivers.

Final Thoughts
If there's one thing I love about browsing The Sims 4 Gallery, it's seeing just how differently Simmers can approach exactly the same lot. Give all the builders Copperdale High School and somehow you end up with completely different ideas of what it could be. A traditional school one minute, a futuristic campus the next, and then suddenly we're sending our Sims to Monster High. Honestly, that's exactly the sort of chaos I want from The Sims 4.

More than anything, these builds show just how much changing a single community lot can transform the feeling of a world. Your Sims are still going to class, sitting in exams, heading to Prom and dealing with the general disaster that is being a teenager, but now they have an incredible new school in which to do it all. And yes, they'll probably still go through a phase at the worst possible moment. We all know that sound... But again, somewhere incredible to sulk in and go through said phase!
A huge thank you to every creator featured in this showcase for sharing their builds with the community and giving the rest of us yet another excuse to renovate Copperdale!
So now the big question is which of these High School builds would you send your Sims to? I know I am going to have a hard time choosing one... maybe each new generation in my game gets a new high school? That seems fair!
Have you already replaced Copperdale High in your own game, or is there another Gallery creator whose school deserves a place on this list? Let us know! And as usual, stay tuned to The Sims Community for all future Gallery Spotlights!
