New clue in The Sims 4 Game Files hints at the upcoming Create A Sim Feature!

It seems like we’re about to get The Sims 4 aging sliders eventually in Create A Sim!

The latest Game Patch for The Sims 4 has drove the entire modding community deep into datamining. Trying to discover what’s next in development for the game. Besides some of the current Businesses & Hobbies leaks and features that will get removed in the upcoming patch, there’s more waiting to be uncovered deep in the code.

The Sims 4 Aging Sliders Discovery

Here’s an unused new addition from the 1.113.277 game patch to consider for future speculation. There are now two new variables for a new type of CAS sliders labeled as “aged”. Perhaps these will be used to make Sims look more aged with special sliders tied to aging, like in a new pack that would have features related to getting old.

Currently The Sims 4 only has two sliders in Create A Sim – Body Weight and Muscle Definition. Both being closely related to body customization and looks.

The speculated two new Sims 4 Aging Sliders will bring one new slider for Sim Faces and one for Sim bodies. Letting you manipulate the age of your Sim through a visual slider that will change their looks.

At the moment this is all we know about The Sims 4 Aging Sliders and their assumed functionality. We’ll make sure to keep you posted if anything new surfaces in the meantime!

We need height sliders!! I can’t w teens and adults being the same height anymore

Charlotte

Threrefor to got exelent mods like auto shorter teens.

Nate

The issue with those is they would have to redo all of the animations to fit the new heights as well, which is an impossible task at this point. If they just made height sliders and didn’t update the animations for the different height, then every single thing the sims did would look wonky

confusifying

exactly, it would cause too issues with animations if they made sliders. I do wish they would create at least a slight difference between the heights of adult males and females, and that could be something selectable when choosing masculine/feminine frame. but that’s just wishful thinking! i wish they would put in the work and add more animations anyway lol.

Eli

Hopefully future iterations of the game will use procedural animations so they can target correctly regardless of sim height. If they build the system well, it should be easier to adapt animations between ages / heights without needing to do more work.

miiku

They would never do something like that, they would need to remake a huge amount of animations and they are allergic to that kind of work. I mean, sims use the same “grabbing” animation for like 90% of daily activities (you know which one I’m talking about)

miiku

This might actually be a game changer, now we’ll only need receding hairlines that don’t look terrible and sims might not look the same all of their life.

Nate

When I read the title I was hoping this meant we could edit the lifespan of each age group instead of just the short, medium, long options that we have now. I want to pick the amount of days each age is like in Sims 3.

Rey

While it’s not base game, the MCCC mod has a section where you can specify the amount of days in short, normal, and long life spans. I use it sometimes to make the ages more “realistically” distributed in days

MinPati

That would actually be a game changer.

Christina

We need middle school age kids. It’s always weird that they go straight to hight school with no mental and emotional development that preteens go through. Kids are like age 7 and how can they go to high school?

Laura

We really need sliders to change the Sims’ hair color!

Ludiz

If this feature does come to life, I hope it will allow us to see our Sims physically evolve throughout their lives. I’ve always found the aging process too abrupt and unrealistic. If it can make the transition between age groups more gradual, that would be awesome!

Krystal91

What if it gave you the ability to make the face and body look more wrinkled and saggy?

Eli

Possibly a posture slider and/or wrinkle visibility

Marty

You can already manipulate posture through a slider on the back.

Frost8488

We don’t need a new age slider… we just need for elderly sims who don’t even have the active trait to not suddenly drop down and start doing push-ups whenever their moodlet is energized…. -_-

Darkening Demise

Making people wrinkly via a slider? We don’t need that, we got face details for that. We need days per age slider like in Sims 3.

SimplyDeeSims

Don’t look too deeply into this, code is left in and never touched from time to time…
