The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Guide to Curses

Presented by EA Game Changeres

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic allows your Sims to gain almost unlimited power as a Spellcaster, but beware! If your Spellcaster isn’t careful, they could wind up cursed!

About Curses

The Sims 4™ Realm of Magic Official Gameplay 540

Curses are negative effects that will afflict your Sim in a variety of detrimental ways. Anytime your Spellcaster fails to cast a spell or brew a potion correctly, there’s a chance it could backfire and leave your Spellcaster cursed. Spellcasters can have up to three curses on them at one time.

Curses are not timed buffs! They are permanent status effects that will plague your Spellcaster for the rest of their lives unless you get rid of it via a spell or potion. Curses cannot kill your Spellcaster, but you will want to remove curses as quickly as possible because they can be quite a nuisance. It will be difficult to do just about anything with a cursed Spellcaster.

Spellcasters cannot cast curses on other Sims. They will only affect Spellcasters after some kind of magical mishap. They are an unfortunate random event, although your Spellcaster’s rank and abilities will influence the likelihood of failing a spell or potion.

Avoiding Curses

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Guide to Curses

The best offense is a good defense! Avoiding curses in the first place is the best way to ensure your Spellcaster’s journey to greatness doesn’t get slowed down. There are a number of things your Spellcaster can do to reduce the likelihood of being afflicted by a curse. Of course, being a high ranking Spellcaster always helps, but perks and traits can further aid in avoiding curses.

  • The Hexproof perk will make your Spellcaster immune to curses all together. All perks that help Spellcasters manage their charge level will reduce the chance of spell failure and thereby reduce the chance of being cursed as well.
  • Spellcasters with one of the magical bloodline traits will also see reduced chances of spell failure. The more powerful the trait, the greater the reduction.

Removing Curses

The Sims 4™ Realm of Magic Official Gameplay 452

Sometimes, despite our best effort, things blow up in our faces. It may not always be possible to avoid being cursed. Luckily, there are two ways your Spellcaster can remove a pesky curse.

  • The Potion of Curse Cleansing will remove all curses from your Spellcaster.
  • The Decursify spell will also remove curses from your Spellcaster,

Curse List

The Sims 4™ Realm of Magic Official Gameplay 523

There are a total of ten possible curses your Spellcasters could be slammed with if they fail to cast a spell or brew a potion.

  • Curse of Awkward Embraces
    • You’re just really into hugging and touching others now. It’s too hard to resist. Awkward.
  • Curse of Infectious Laughter
    • Sometimes you just can’t stop laughing, even in inappropriate situations and often times spread it to others.
  • Curse of Repulsiveness
    • What a horrifying visage! This will cause terror and disgust in all nearby Sims. Socializing will be much harder.
  • Curse of Scrambled Spells
    • You’re losing control of your magic. Casting will sometimes have random powerful results.
  • Curse of Uncleansable Stench
    • You are eternally drenched in the smelliest of gym sweat constantly. Showering does nothing!
  • Curse of Uncontrollable Charge
    • You now draw too much Magical Energy. All gains are increased.
  • Curse of Unwarranted Hostility
    • For some reason everyone just wants to be mean to you and even start fights with you.
  • Curse of the Duelist
    • Be prepared to get into more duels! It’s going to be a lot harder to win, and rewards won’t be as good.
  • Curse of the Night Wraith
    • A Spectral Stalker is hunting you. But where are they now?! Good luck trying to sleep!

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Familiar Guide

Familiars are powerful magical companions!

Presented by EA Game Changers

One of the many new features coming with The Sims 4 Realm of Magic is the option for your Sim to have a Familiar. The easiest way for your Sim to obtain familiars in The Sims 4 is by visiting Juan’s Wonderful One-Stop Wand Warehouse in Caster Alley where you will find a selection of familiars that you can buy there and then. You will usually find three different ones in stock and they can vary from day to day as to which ones are available, so keep checking back to find your perfect magical companion.

Sims 4 familiars

There are also a couple of other ways that you can obtain a magical companion. This can be done by searching for Tomes or by winning certain Duels as well.

Binding Familiars

Once you locate your desired Familiar in your Sims’ inventory, you will simply be able to click on it and chose the option ‘Bind Familiar’. Once you have done this you will be asked to name the Sims 4 familiars. You can either keep the default name that it is given or chose your own name.

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Familiar Guide

If you are unhappy with your Sims 4 Familiars’ names once you have initially named them or just fancy something different, you can change their names simply by going into the Familiar menu and selecting ‘Rename Familiar.’

Summoning Your New Magical Companion

Of course, summoning Sims 4 familiars is incredibly easy! Simply click on your Sim, select the Magic sub-menu followed by the Familiar menu. You will then be presented with a pop-up box allowing you to select any of the Familiars your Sim has bound to them.

Sims 4 familiars

If for whatever reason you wish to unbind from your Sims 4 familiars, you can simply go to the Familiar menu and select unbind. That Familiar will then return to your Sims inventory where you can bind with the familiar again or place it in the world.

Types of Sims 4 Familiars

In total there are eleven different types of magical companion that your Sim can have but you can have more than one of the same kind too.

Sims 4 familiars

Common Familiars

The following familiars in The Sims 4 are common finds in The Magic Realm.

  • Fairy – $100
  • Raven – $100
  • Sixam Owl – $100
  • Bunnerfly – $250

Uncommon Familiars

The following Sims 4 familiars are uncommon finds in The Magic Realm.

  • Dragon – $250
  • Glowfrog – $250
  • Snub-Nosed Leaf Bat – $250
  • Hex Doll – $250

Rare Familiars

The following familiars in The Sims 4 are rare finds in The Magic Realm.

  • Pheonix – $500
  • Skull – $500
  • Velid – $777

Familiars & The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs

Also, if you happen to own The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs, you are able to bind your Cat or Dog as Sims 4 familiars too! Of course, all you have to do is click on your pet, head to the Magic menu and you will be given the option to ‘Bind Pet as Familiar.’

Once you have done that, you can summon your cat or dog the same way you would with any other magical companion. You will notice that your Cat or Dog will have a slight sparkle/glow to them now and you will also be able to send them on special forages to help gather magical items which, is something you can’t do normally. What a helpful magical companion!

Sims 4 familiars

When you send your cat and dog Sims 4 familiars out on a foraging adventure they will leave your home lot for several hours before returning with what they have discovered.

Of course, being able to be bound to your own Cat or Dog as a magical companion means there are numerous possibilities of the kinds of familiars you can have. Also, if you are stuck for ideas, why not take some inspiration from some other well-known magical creatures!

Magical Companion Facts!

  • Your magical companion in The Sims 4 can protect your Sims from Death although don’t expect them to do it all the time. Indeed, there is a little bit of a cooldown in between.
  • Child Sims can have a Familiar bound to them although their magical companion are only able to protect that Sim.
  • Also, every Familiar has its own personality and will sometimes talk to your Spellcaster Sim. You’ll see these as a notifications from your magical companion in the top right of your screen.
  • If your Sim gets too far away from their magical companion, the Familiar will simply teleport to where they are especially if your Sim needs protecting.
  • Familiars won’t help your Sims gain Spellcaster Talent Points but they will help you gain extra Spellcaster XP.

That’s it for Familiars in The Sims 4 Realm of Magic. Let us know who your favorite Familiar is! Are thinking of creating your own using The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs?

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: All About Spellcasters!

Presented by EA Game Changers

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic introduces a brand new occult type; Spellcaster. Much like the Vampires game pack, Realm of Magic focuses exclusively on only one occult type. Everything in the pack revolves around Spellcasters and their gameplay. There’s a lot to know about Spellcasters, so we’ve compiled the ultimate guide to help you navigate your Sim’s new life as a pupil of magic.

Spellcaster Biology

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: All About Spellcasters!

Physically, Spellcasters are a lot like regular Sims. They do not have a second form, making them the first occult life state in The Sims 4 to only have one form. Their “specialness” lies more in what they can do rather than their physical makeup.

Spellcasters age at the same rate as human Sims, but high ranking Spellcasters can gain access to magic that will prolong their lifespan or even make them immortal.

Sims of all ages can be Spellcasters, but young Spellcasters won’t be able to access their powers until they become teenagers. Children of Spellcasters have a special hidden trait, Magical Bloodline, that will give them boosts to their magical abilities when they’re older. This trait will strengthen over multiple generations of Spellcasters. High ranking Spellcasters will pass down stronger versions of this trait as well.

Becoming a Spellcaster

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: All About Spellcasters!

Spellcasters can be created directly in CAS, just like aliens, vampires, and mermaids, but human Sims can also become Spellcasters by having the Rite of Ascension performed on them by one of the three Sages.

To embark on this journey, have your Sim follow the dirt path alongside the creek in Glimmerbrook until they find the portal located at the top of the waterfall. Click on the portal to travel through it to The Magic Realm.

Once in The Magic Realm, talk to any one of the three Sages. If you are starting a fresh save, the Sages are:

  • Simeon Silversweater, Sage of Practical Magic
  • L. Faba, Sage of Mischief Magic
  • Morgyn Ember, Sage of Untamed Magic

The Sages do wander a bit, but most of the time, you can find them on the Magic HQ lot in The Magic Realm. Simeon is usually on the first floor of HQ. Morgyn can be found on the second floor, and L. likes to spend most of her time in the basement.

If you are not starting in a fresh save, there is a chance the Sages will be different. If a Sage dies or gets married, another Sim will fill their role. The Sages are easily recognisable. They have their magical discipline’s rune glowing above their heads.

Under Friendly socials, select Ask How to Use Magic. You will be asked if you are sure you want to embark on this path. Confirm and the Sage will grant you temporary Mote Sight, which lasts 8 in-game hours. You will be tasked with finding 7 motes around The Magic Realm to prove that you’re worthy of becoming a Spellcaster.

TIP! Don’t worry about picking the right Sage to ask. The Sage you pick to turn your Sim into a Spellcaster has no effect on what kind of magic your Sim will be able to learn. Spellcasters are not locked into one school of magic. Which types of magic your Sim will pursue is entirely up to you.

The motes are not difficult to find. They are large glowing orbs scattered all over the area. Once you grab seven of them, return them to the Sage. The Sage will then perform the Rite of Ascension on your Sim.

Congratulations! You are now officially a Spellcaster!

Learning New Spells and Potions

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: All About Spellcasters!

Just because you can use magic now, that doesn’t mean you are all-powerful. You start off as an Apprentice, knowing no spells or potions whatsoever. You’ll need to dedicate time to practicing your craft and learning new spells and potions in order to rise in the ranks.

New spells and potions can be learned in a number of different ways:

  • Purchasing tomes in Caster’s Alley
  • Finding tomes in the bookshelves of HQ
  • Asking a Sage to teach you new spells
  • Winning a duel for knowledge
  • Practicing magic
  • Experimenting with a cauldron

Your Spellcaster may find or purchase tomes for spells and potions of any rank, but will not be able to learn from them until they meet the rank requirement for that spell or potion. Almost any magical action will help increase your Spellcaster’s rank, so keep practicing, dueling, experimenting, and seeking out more powerful Spellcasters for instruction.

The Spell Book

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: All About Spellcasters!

Every Spellcaster has their own spell book that keeps track of every spell and potion they’ve learned. The spell book splits all of these into the four schools of magic: Practical, Mischief, Untamed, and Alchemy. You will be able to see your Spellcaster’s progress in each school of magic whenever you open the spell book.

Clicking on any school of magic, either on the progress page or in the tabs below, will list all the spells your Sim currently knows within that school of magic. In the Alchemy section, you will be able to see the required ingredients for every potion your Sim has learned how to brew.

Your Spellcaster will never lose track of what they know or how to brew a potion they’ve discovered with their trusty spell book on hand. Refer to it whenever you need to look up potion ingredients or refresh your memory about what a specific spell does.

Spellcaster Perks

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: All About Spellcasters!

Just like vampires, Spellcasters also have their own skill tree. Your Spellcaster won’t be able to purchase any perks as an Apprentice, but as they level up in rank, they’ll earn Spellcaster points that they can exchange for new perks that will give them added magical benefits.

Your Spellcaster can select perks that will aid them in one school of magic to further define their specialty, or they can spread their points across multiple categories to be a more well-rounded Spellcaster.

The first three columns must have their perks purchased in order from the bottom to the top, but the perks on the right side of the skill tree may be purchased in any order you like, provided your Spellcaster is at a high enough rank to purchase them.

The Four Schools of Magic

The Sims 4™ Realm of Magic Official Gameplay 095

There are four disciplines (or schools) of magic that every spell and potion falls into. Your Spellcaster can specialise in one school, or master all four of them. Spellcasters are never locked into one school of magic. It’s entirely up to the player to decide which magical disciplines to focus on.

School of Practical Magic: This branch of magic is dedicated to making everyday mundane tasks easier. Why cook when you can conjure a delicious meal out of thin air? Why clean when you can just wave your wand and make your house spotless? Why walk places when you can teleport there instantly? Household chores and gardening become a thing of the past when you’re well-versed in the art of Practical Magic.

School of Mischief Magic: This branch of magic seeks to cause mayhem and chaos. Rain down misfortune on other Sims, influence them to fight or flirt, manipulate their emotions, and rain down misfortune on your enemies. This school of magic is perfect for the devious Spellcaster who wants to harness the power of making other Sims miserable.

School of Untamed Magic: This branch of magic is unstable and unpredictable. It is easily the most powerful of all the schools of magic, but it is also the most dangerous. With great power comes great responsibility. This school of magic focuses primarily on powerful elemental magic and is perfect for the ambitious Spellcaster who wants the power of the cosmos at their fingertips.

School of Alchemy: Potion brewers rejoice! There is a school of magic for you! This branch of magic has no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in its class. Masters of alchemy must collect ingredients to brew up potent potions that have the power to do both great harm and great good. It’s useful for every Spellcaster to have a good grasp of the art of Alchemy as well. The best alchemists can even unlock the secret of immortality.

Rising in the Ranks

The Sims 4™ Realm of Magic Official Gameplay 581

There are six levels of Spellcaster:

Apprentice: Spellcasters of this rank are brand new to the craft and don’t know any spells or potions, yet. They also don’t have access to any Spellcaster perks in the skill tree. Learning a few basic spells and simple potions should help you on your way to becoming a Neophyte.

Neophyte: Neophytes have graduated from their apprenticeship and are granted access to their first Spellcaster perk. This is when Spellcasters can start to decide what school of magic they’d like to specialise in (if any). They can learn a few slightly more advanced spells and potions.

Acolyte: Acolytes have proven themselves capable Spellcasters and have access to more specialised perks. They can start learning more advanced spells and potions now.

Adept: Adept Spellcasters are accomplished wielders of magic and have extensive experience. They have access to better perks and can truly begin to unlock their full potential by learning more powerful spells and potions.

Master: Master Spellcasters harness a great deal of power. They have access to some of the top tier perks and can learn the most advanced spells and potions. Masters are a force to be reckoned with and should not be challenged lightly!

Virtuoso: This is the highest rank of Spellcaster. These Spellcasters can approach the Sages and ask to be taught the most powerful and ancient of spells within each school of magic. Their knowledge and abilities are nearly limitless. They are on equal footing with the Sages.

The Dangers of Being a Spellcaster

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: All About Spellcasters!

Being a Spellcaster is exhilarating, but it can also be dangerous. There are numerous risks Spellcasters must face when practicing their craft. Spells can backfire, potions can have unwanted effects, and your Spellcaster can be afflicted with curses. Spellcasters who get too carried away and let their power go to their heads can even die.

Spell and Potion Failure

Every time your Spellcaster tries to cast a spell or brew a potion, there is a chance of failure. Low rank Spellcasters fail more often and Spellcasters in a negative emotional state have a higher chance of failure. Spellcasters can collapse or be slammed with a curse from having a spell or potion backfire on them. Spellcasters who are overcharged have a higher fail rate as well.

Curses

Sims can be afflicted with a random curse whenever a spell or potion of theirs fails. There are a total of ten curses. A Spellcaster can have up to three curses at a single time. Curses do not go away over time. They will stay with your Spellcaster forever unless gotten rid of via a spell or potion. Spellcasters cannot cast curses on other Sims. They only happen from failed spellcraft. You’ll want to remove curses as fast as possible because they can make life very difficult for your Spellcaster.

Death by Overcharge

All Spellcasters have a charge, represented by a large opalescent orb at the top of their motives panel. The default charge is Normal, meaning there are no modifiers added to spellcasting either way. The more spells your Spellcaster casts, the more charge they build up. Building up your Spellcaster’s charge offers benefits to your Spellcaster, but too much of a good thing can become dangerous.

Continuing to build your charge past a certain point will start to become detrimental to your Spellcaster. The chance of failure increases. If your Spellcaster does not heed this warning and continues to cast spells before the charge orb returns to normal, they can become Overcharged. Overcharged Spellcasters are in deadly territory. Spells they cast while Overcharged have the potential to kill your Spellcaster!

It’s not all bad, though. Spellcasters who die by Overcharge become immune to this death type and can never die this way again. Your Spellcaster also has a variety of things at their disposal to help them avoid this fatal overcharge. Perks, familiars, and having one of the magical bloodline traits can all contribute to protecting your Sim from Death by Overcharge. There are also spells and potions that can revive a dead Sim, bringing your Spellcaster back from this death type.

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Welcome to Glimmerbrook & The Magic Realm!

The world itself feels much more open than previous worlds we have seen but there is no end of places where you will find amazing views and plenty of places that your Sim can explore when they are out and about.

Did we mention just how beautiful Glimmerbrook is in the snow?

While your Sim is out and about they may just stumble across something a little unusual. Are they brave enough to find out what is the other side?

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Welcome to Glimmerbrook & The Magic Realm!

Go on! Go see what is through the portal.

The Magic Realm

The portal grants your Sims access to The Magic Realm. It really is a world away from Glimmerbrook.

The Magic Realm is made up of several different floating islands. These islands have been subject to a vortex that has slowly been destroying the world. With the help of the three Sages, they worked together instead of against one another to help protect the world and keep the islands as together as possible.

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Welcome to Glimmerbrook & The Magic Realm!

When you first leave the Portal, your Sim will arrive at the HQ. This is the main hub for Spellcasters and you’ll usually find a variety of them hanging out here.

Your Sims can also find the three Sages at the HQ. They will be able to tell you more about magic and help you become a Spellcaster if your Sim isn’t already.

While you are at the HQ, you will notice that there are three other portals located on the island. These will allow you to travel to the other islands.

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Welcome to Glimmerbrook & The Magic Realm!

The HQ is a 40×40 lot that isn’t editable via Build Mode. However, you can enter the cheat bb.enablefreebuild which will allow you to refurbish and remodel the lot to your desire. You will not be able to change the lot type from Magic HQ.

The Gardens

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Welcome to Glimmerbrook & The Magic Realm!

The Gardens are located just to the South of the main island. Here you will find a conservatory that has definetly seen better days as well as a few collectible spawn points and a fishing spot.

Casters Alley

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Welcome to Glimmerbrook & The Magic Realm!

Casters Alley is located to the East of the main island and is the must-visit place for any Spellcaster. The shops have everything they ever need from ingredients, Tomes, brooms, wands and more!

Juan’s Wonderful One-Stop Wand Warehouse is where you will find a variety of Familiar’s, wands and Tomes.

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Welcome to Glimmerbrook & The Magic Realm!

Brooms, Baubles and Beyond is the place to go for all your Crystals and Brooms.

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Welcome to Glimmerbrook & The Magic Realm!

Questionable Quacks Emporium is where you will find a wide variety of Potion Ingredients.

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Welcome to Glimmerbrook & The Magic Realm!

There really is no other place you need to visit!

Dueling Grounds

Whether you want to Duel for artifacts, ingredients, knowledge or just for fun, the Dueling Grounds is the place to go while you are in The Magic Realm.

You will find the portal to the Dueling grounds located to the North of the main Island behind the HQ.

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Welcome to Glimmerbrook & The Magic Realm!

Much like Glimmerbrook, The Magic Realm also has some spectacular views and some beautiful locations that your Sims can explore and practice Magic.

Glimmerbrook & The Magic Realm really are places full of surprises and you never know what could happen next!

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic: Meet the Residents!

Presented by EA Game Changers

Welcome to Glimmerbrook!

Bubble bubble, toil and trouble… The babbling brook that winds through the sleepy forested town of Glimmerbrook isn’t all that’s bubbling in this seemingly normal town. Rumour has it that if you follow the dirt path along the creek, you’ll come across a mysterious portal that has the power to transport you to a world of magic. But those are just rumours, aren’t they? Surely magic isn’t real? Perhaps getting to know the neighbours will reveal the truth. What mystical secrets are the residents of Glimmerbrook hiding?

Household Notes

  • The Charm family lives at Rock Ridge Canyon in Glimmerbrook.
  • The family’s surname is a magical pun (of course). A charm is a small trinket imbued with magical properties.
  • Interestingly, the family’s name is Charm Family in Manage Households, rather than just Charm. The reason for this is unknown, but it might be a nod to the family’s strong magical lineage.
  • Minerva, Darrel, and Gemma all have the hidden Strong Bloodline trait, which is acquired by being born into a family of strong Spellcasters. Emilia has no hidden bloodline traits. The household description confirms that Emilia was not born a Spellcaster; she only recently became one.
  • Minerva Charm seems to have been inspired by Minerva McGonagall from the Harry Potter book and film series. They share a first name and are both older, wiser magical women with strict values.
  • The name Gemma is possibly a reference to the importance of crystals in potion brewing.
  • Emilia’s surname, Ernest, is a nod to her enthusiastic, eager-to-please personality.
  • Minerva and Darrel know Simeon Silversweater, the Sage of Practical Magic. Gemma knows L. Faba, the Sage of Mischief Magic. Emilia knows Morgyn Ember, the Sage of Untamed Magic. This suggests that these Sages are the mentors of those Sims.
  • Minerva appears to have a strong dislike of Mischief Magic. She knows no Mischief spells and dislikes L. Faba. Gemma is on good terms with L. Faba and knows primarily Mischief spells. The household description hints at some tension between the two because of this.
  • Darrel dislikes his neighbour, Tomax Collette, although the reason for this is uncertain. They appear to be connected through Emilia, who is friends with both Tomax and his roommate, Grace.
  • There is workout equipment in Darrel and Emilia’s bedroom, most likely for Darrel, who has Fitness skill and is Hot-Headed. Gemma has an easel in her room to go with her Art Lover trait.

  • Tomax dislikes his neighbour, Darrel Charm, although the reason for this is unclear. They appear to be connected through Darrel’s fiancee, Emilia, who is friends with both Tomax and Grace.

  • Grace and Tomax are featured in both the reveal trailer and gameplay trailer for Realm of Magic.

Household Notes

  • Morgyn, Simeon, and L. do not live in Glimmerbrook. They are listed as Not In World under Household Management and show up as three separate households with no household description.
  • Unlike other homeless households of one Sim, which typically only have §20,000 in funds, Simeon, Morgyn, and L. each have §50,000 in household funds.
  • Morgyn, Simeon, and L. are the three Sages representing the three schools of magic. They can perform the Rite of Ascension on other Sims to turn them into Spellcasters and have various other abilities related to their role as Sages.
  • If the player chooses to play as, marry, or move in Morgyn, Simeon, or L., they will permanently lose their role as Sage and a random new Sim will take their place.
  • All three Sages are experts in their school of magic, as well as in alchemy. They all know how to brew every potion in the game and can cast every spell within their school.
  • Morgyn is a transgender man, making him the second transgender Sim to be introduced to the game as a premade townie. The first was Lia Huata, a transgender woman who came with the Island Living expansion pack. Morgyn cannot have children unless the player alters this setting in CAS.
  • Simeon, Morgyn, and L. are all friends with each other, but L. dislikes Minerva Charm. All three Sages have various other friends/acquaintances, indicating that these Sims are magical pupils of theirs.
  • L. Faba is a reference to Elphaba, a fictional witch in the Broadway production, Wicked. It’s unclear what the L. in her name stands for.
  • Morgyn’s surname is a reference to fire, which suits his position as the Sage of Untamed Magic. This school of magic contains many powerful elemental spells.
  • Morgyn is featured in both the reveal trailer and the gameplay trailer for Realm of Magic.

Occult Mods for Sims 4 that aren't officially in the game

0

With Realm of Magic coming very soon, I thought I’d share some Occult Mods that haven’t became official to The Sims 4 yet.

Not counting the ones that became a official such as Vampires, Mermaids and Spellcasters (Call them witches if you want), Let’s begin.

1.  Zombies!

Occult Mods for Sims 4 that aren't officially in the game

The Zombie Apocalypse mod is created by Sacrificial Mods who is famously known for creating The Extreme Violence Mod.

This mod allows you to become a zombie by drinking a potion or being bitten by a zombie. This also allows you to start a zombie invasion social event around the lot, Just hop into the zombie pie menu but not before you prep yourself with repel sprays and weapons to fight off the horde.

2. Fairies!

Occult Mods for Sims 4 that aren't officially in the game

Fairies are one of the most highly request occults so far. The fairies mod is created by Nyx who is currently remaking this mod due to an sims update back in spring. Luckily, this mod still works.

In this mod, your sim can become a fairy by pleading to the tree (the pink one) and if your lucky, it will grant you fairy abilities, complete with your very own wings and elf ears.

When it first came out, you weren’t allow to use glasses when transformed but you can now in the children and toddlers update. At the moment you can use the “I can fly” interaction as well as using auras.

3. Superheroes!

Occult Mods for Sims 4 that aren't officially in the game

Another occult mod by Sacrificial Mods and actually my favourite mod. This is a superheroes mod which is also known as Armageddon.

Your sim can either become a super hero or a villain. As a superhero you can sense danger from the distance and attempt to save victims from impending doom such a helicopter crash and a serial killer. You can always disable automatic quests by going on the superheroes option pie menu.

As a Super villain you can cause havoc and increase worlds corruptions by doing evil deeds such as setting a sim on fire, summon bugs that can frighten nearby sims, have a epic battle against a superhero, etc.

Both occults can be earn by either completing a social event or simply become one by going to the Armageddon options pie menu.

4. Werewolves!

Occult Mods for Sims 4 that aren't officially in the game

Another mod currently being remade by Nyx. This time it’s the werewolves, just like fairies, the old version still works.

In order to become a werewolf, you must purchase a map portrait called Special treasure map and click on it to gain access to its interaction menu and click on “inspect the map”, Afterwards click on your sim and select “travel to the deep dark woods”. After a while, your sim will return in a bad state. After 24 hours, they will become a were-wolf.

As you level up, you’ll gain a werewolf pie menu that allows you to choose its interactions such as howling, spreading the curse and summon your own wolf pack.

There’s 2 versions I saw, Flavour one has the classic style such as having a muzzle like other werewolves have and the Flavour two had a transformation they used to have back in Sims 3 Supernatural.

I hope you’re excited as I am, when Realm of Magic comes out very, very soon.

SPECULATION: Horses could be coming to The Sims 4

Please note: this post is pure speculation and doesn’t contain any official confirmation from The Sims Team!

Back in January 2017 when the toddlers update for The Sims 4 came out we uncovered some interesting coding that Cats, Dogs and Horses would be coming to the game. Afterwards we discovered that they were only referenced once in the code as a new species, while there were plenty of more references for Cats & Dogs.

Now, it seems that the references for Horses have been updated in the game code. Found by cheescaeks, the new Horse game code reference refers to animations, animation cues, interactions and movements that may haven’t been present in the game code before. There are also references that mention animation cues between a Sim and a Horse.

Interestingly enough, in the latest Sims 4 Realm of Magic Livestream hosted by The Sims Team, SimGuruRomeo went over a new feminine top that comes with the pack. When he mentioned that the top “kinda looks like an equestrian looking outfit”, SimGuruNinja gave him the hard stare and they continued to laugh it off with “we won’t go there”. You can check out the very moment in the livestream replay below (press play and you’ll be taken to this specific moment from the livestream)

Check out the raw code that’s been found in the game files by clicking the tab button below!

When it comes to The Magic Realm there’s a single 40×40 lot that’s un-editable. At least without cheats.

This lot that you can see down below can be edited using the bb.enablefreebuild cheat. Although this will allow you to rebuild and remodel the lot however you want, you won’t be able to change the type of this lot which is marked as Magic HQ.
