The Sims 4 Dine Out: Food Critics and Restaurant Rating System

1

The Sims 4 Dine Out Trailer has shown more than we originally thought there is to this Game Pack!

Under the Trailer section for new Gameplay, the video shows a Sim who appears to be waiting for the Food Critic’s opinion. Yup, that’s definitely a Food Critic writing down his thoughts! But, that’s not all…

The latest Game.co.uk listing has revealed some of the Key Features of this Game Pack, including the following text: Strive for a five-star rating or build a multi-restaurant empire to rake in the Simoleons!

See that? Restaurants will have their own Ratings System!

This clearly means that Food Critics will determine the Star Rating Level of your Restaurant. We don’t know how exactly is this going to function, but The Sims Team still has 2 weeks to reveal more info about this Game Pack!

Ocean Quigley opens up on why SimCity 2013 failed

We now finally know the real truth on what happened with SimCity 2013 and why it launched so badly!

Ocean Quigley, Creative Director of previous SimCity games (including SimCity 2013) opened up to GameInformer’s Ben Hanson on what went wrong with SimCity 2013 and what original plans did the developers have for the game.

[mks_two_thirds]

Ben Hanson: Is the push from EA’s always-online requirement just so that players are one step closer to microtransactions or what’s the idea there for pushing so much online?

Ocean Quigley: I think at the time it was how EA saw the future. ”This is how things are going to be’ ‘You’ll have an always online, always connected game world, and let’s get SimCity to push into that glorious vision of the future”

”EA wanted to make it more of a platform, an ongoing platform, that they’d sort of build and develop on. […] The tech got ahead of itself. We didn’t have the back-end infrastructure to actually pull that off, obviously.” Quigley explaining the whole ‘server meltdown’ situation on the launch of SimCity 2013. ”The back end of it all, sort of, collapsing in flaming server rooms was, well — it feels a little bit like being somebody on a sinking ship, and you’ve done a really nice job on your part of it, but it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if you’ve made all these beautiful things, because the rest of the ship is exploding.”

Quigley later talked about what SimCity 2013 could’ve originally been but got limited by the always-online feature: ”The eventual vision was that the whole region — the whole vast, 32-kilometer by 32-kilometer region — would be one potential city, and you could build anywhere in it,” said Quigley. He added that while SimCity‘s simulation engine “would have let us scale, eventually, to larger and larger cities,”

The Sims 4 Gallery: Builds from Films by HattySims

So you are a movie freak? A bit obsessed with movies? And you also love Sims? Well then keep reading because you might stumble upon a house from a movie that you might love! Let me introduce you to HattySims. She’s a YouTuber and she’s a builder, all her builds are amazing from a simple starter to a castle! But let’s get into the movies!

The Black Pearl

If since 2003 you got addicted with the Pirates of the Caribbean and you’re patiently waiting for 2017 for the next movie then you can ease your desire for more with the Black Pearl!

Black Pearl

Build on a pool you can’t help but admire how cleverly created this ship is! The only drawback is that you can’t sail with it away from your everyday life!

Hogwarts

Continuing, we have a build from the second biggest fan base according to E.W., which is none other than Hogwarts from Harry Potter! -come on Harry Potter fans where were you? We got beat up by Supernatural-

Hogwarts

A clever recreation of Hogwarts since there was no possible way on having it the exact same -Sims 4 limitation-, it’s definitely worth your time!

The Great Gatsby

If you’re still not pleased though she has The Great Gatsby for you! A beloved old classic novel became a movie and you can now (or at least your Sims) live in this humongous mansion!

Great Gatsby

Jeez, hope you brought your scooter otherwise you’ll walking forever! If this house doesn’t make you wow I don’t know what will!

Howl’s Moving Castle

Last but not least, you anime fans out there won’t be disappointed and forgotten once more, because she has the Howl’s Moving Castle for you! A pretty cool and creative house that you don’t see everyday I’m sure.

Howl's Moving Castle

It’s so weird and so many things are going on with this house that you just can’t take your eyes from it!

The Sims Blog: Get Weird with Experimental Food in The Sims 4 Dine Out Game Pack

0

Via TheSims.com

Hi Simmers! The Sims 4 Dine Out Game Pack* is coming on June 7, and includes the ability for your Sims to go out to eat, and own and run their own restaurant. But that’s not all that’s on the menu.

Today we  wanted to talk about some of the new dishes so that we can fully savour the flavour and whet all our appetites for this fantastic game pack. Tired of the food metaphors? Strap in, it’s going to get worse.

TS4_648_GP03_SCREENS_04_001

The Sims 4 already has a wide variety of recipes, running the gamut from real-world favorites to Sims classics. We were eager to experiment in a more ambitious culinary realm, so we set them loose to create a huge array of high concept, bizarre, tantalizing, Experimental Food.

The goal behind the experimental food is to wow your Sims. We wanted to create beautiful, avant-garde dishes that seem like they come from a celebrity chef on an amazing cable TV show. The dishes are bright, bold, and beautiful, and full of life with amazing new animations that you might not expect to see on a platter.

TS4_674_GP03_LIFTS_06

The flowing lava on the Volcano Pasta is gorgeous and amazing. The Jungle Moss Egg with Lavender Wisps looks like something from an alien world. And the savoury Bacon Love Petals look like a dish that I’d gladly spend $19.99 on at a high end restaurant.

The food isn’t just a culinary feast for the eyes and the imagination. Your Sims will benefit from a slew of powerful and fascinating Moodlets that will represent exactly how your Sims feel about the flavours bombarding their digital palettes. If you want, your Sims even have new social options to discuss their food.

TS4_674_GP03_LIFTS_09

We always try to make our game current with real world trends, and The Sims 4 Dine Out is no exception. Your Sims can eagerly photograph their meals. But, to take it a step further, all of these will turn into beautiful photographs for your Sim’s walls, or even their own restaurants! Your Sims can challenge themselves to complete the Experimental Food collection, which gives them a reason to try every dish in town.

We’re a bit hungry from all this food talk, so we’ll leave you here and find something to eat. Perhaps we’ll snack on Cubed Ahi with Veggie Wasabi Matrix? Yum!

The Sims 4 Dine Out Game Pack will be released on June 7, but there’s still plenty to talk about. The burners are barely lit for what we have to show you. And no, the food puns will never stop.

The Sims 4: Developers Tease ‘CAS Changes’

There’s more to the latest Patch Notes that you might think! In the last paragraph of the patch notes, SimGuruGnome said:

Here’s to hoping your days are counted in Sim days (because then you’d get to live 3,011,903,080,114,070,519,031,513,091,407 nanoseconds on average)

Our member mork discovered a deeper meaning to this code:

it’s a pretty basic code based on the alphabet (substitute letters for the numbers).

3 01 19 03 08 01 14 07 05 19 03 15 13 09 14 07

c a s c h a n g e s c o m i n g

Could this mean that the Unisex CAS Features that the Gurus have ‘accidentally’ leaked could be coming very soon?! We’ll probably have to wait until the next patch to find out!

The Sims 4: Improved Indoor Graphics Coming with Dine Out!

UPDATE: Emily Zeinner posted a new Screenshot with updated Indoor Graphics!

Ci6Z3iLXAAEQmPY

‘has NO ONE noticed this really special thing in the trailer’ said Emily Zeinner, Concept Lead for The Sims 4. ‘I’m not sure even that me and are talking about the same thing. But mine doesn’t have to do with gameplay, just visuals.’

After some digging through The Sims 4 Dine Out’s latest Trailer, Platinum Simmers found out that the Lighting inside the rooms may be getting an update!

People from Platinum Simmers asked: ‘oh oh oh!! Visual! Is it the high detailed light through the windows?’ after which Emily sent her a smiley face, which basically confirms that the indoors will be getting a cool visual upgrade, as you can see in the screenshot below.
