New The Sims 4 Patch set for February 25th is speculated to be a Burglars Content Update!
Multiple clues about The Sims 4 Burglars Update have accumulated over the last few weeks ever since our first report on the rumors. From in-game teases in the current Sims 4 Live Event to creator reports on the big release next week - here's everything we know about the current speculation about Burglars coming back to The Sims 4:

The Sims 4 Burglars Update Theories
Live Event Teaser in The Sims 4
Alright, I know I can't let go of the Milk Carton Theory but it seems that everything's aligning perfectly in the third week of the Blast From The Past Event. Giving some new contextual clues about the possible Sims 4 Burglars Update.

The name of the Milk Carton is "Some Sneaky Sim, Not A Raccoon". Giving insight about what The Sims Team teased on their social media last week. Showing a Shady Raccoon NPC with a tail and everything!
It was revealed in the earlier version of The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies Game Code that the Shady NPC is a new character with this Expansion Pack.
However, Maxis still wants you to make sure to not get these two mistaken. The Milk Carton Theory worked for The Sims 1 and Sims 2 Rerelease hints, so I won't be surprised to see the same happen for this potential Sims 4 Burglars Update.
The Laundry List Preparations
EA published a brand new The Sims 4 Laundry List yesterday, detailing a list of bug fixes and issues players should expect to be resolved in the next Sims 4 Update. If we were to look at the pattern of releases between previous Laundry List and Updates, new Sims 4 Updates usually happen a week after the list is published.

The Roadmap Teaser
Something's definitely happening exclusively for The Sims 4 on February 25th, 2025, according to the first official Sims 4 Roadmap for 2025. And many believe this date is specifically hinting at the Sims 4 Burglars Update release.

There are also valid theories about the Restoration Workshop Kit being about Sims 4 Cars. And that February 25th is instead a Cars update. Still, we also thought that there would be multiple hobbies in the upcoming Pack rather than just two. That's why it's important to take any speculation - or official pack title - with a grain of salt!
New Sims Insider Post
SimMattically, who we mentioned numerous times for speculations related to The Sims Rereleases and the Life & Death Pack Theme is back with a new cryptic tweet. This time suggesting that The Sims 4 Burglars Update is happening next week on February 25th.

The Sims Insider also replied to a tweet asking if the new character is Human or Burglar, to which SimMatically confirmed it would be a new Human Character. Aligning with the reassurment about The Sims 4 Burglars Update we've gotten in Week 3 of Blast From The Past.

I really hope whatever the raccoon monstrosity is is contained to the new pack and the actual burglars are really coming in a free update. I would be very disappointed otherwise.

Exactly I don’t like these goofy redesigns of old we keep getting. Like Harry Potter hipsters instead of witches and warlocks. Give us the real deal burglars. Also please please PLEASE bring back the iconic danger tune from The Sims 1. That scared so many of us back in the day.
Surely when content creators work with The Sims team on packs, they sign an NDA. So who exactly IS SimMattically and how do they get away with leaking/hinting at information every time?

Don’t know about SimMattically, but Anadius is one who leaks everything every single time. He doesn’t work with EA, he datamines the files. So I think SimMattically does the same.

Yep, He is a modder from Poland 🙂
i honestly don’t know why people miss burglars so much, but free stuff is good stuff! i do hope they’re doing more than just adding one traditional feature to the game tho
I dont think we are getting burglars in the sims 4 cus the sims team said long ago that they have taken them out of the gem because they bring up painfull memories from the players real life. And they don’t wanna do that they have said.

But we also have break ins with for rent and vampires can break into homes too to replenish their thirst. Was this an official statement or just something that was implied or just a belief some players had that morphed into gossip?

Hmmm, what about removing fires and deaths then? Surely they’re related to traumas too

They absolutely never said that. It was a rumor and SimGuruGrant (Grant Rodiek) debunked that long time ago. He said: “I don’t know why this rumor exists, but let me repeat again: This is not why burglars aren’t in the game. It has nothing to do with this. Burglars aren’t in the game because we haven’t made them yet. That’s it. That’s the reason.” Why can’t people ever check their source before commenting? There is even an article about it right here on the SimsCommunity website.

EA never said that, that was a silly rumor that someone made up.

Ma’am, please be serious. Sims can be burned alive in this game, there’s no way that’s the reason they cut burglars from the game. It was more than likely due to time constraints.
I swear they better not be poorly coded and show up to our house every single night. I’m still coping from the “Lovestruck” situation, where all my lots are riddled with couples who sit and cuddle on benches and picnic tables.
