First Free Paralives Expansion Coming Later This Year

We're three months in to Paralives' first year of Early Access! With recent developments and news from the Paralives team, it doesn't seem like they're slowing down working on optimizing and improving the game for the future, sprinkling in new content every once in a while surrounding larger optimization changes. However, newer content looks to be sooner than we initially believed.

Original Statement

Per the previous Patch Notes from August 24th, 2026, a little detail was snuck in that got overshadowed by other things like the new camera mode and such; Paralives is planning for a free expansion pack launch towards the end of 2026! This also, per the notes, means that the gaps between updates may lengthen as larger pieces of content are worked on in preparation.

Speculation About the Paralives Expansion Pack

Since this is the first major acknowledgment of a Paralives Expansion Pack coming later this year, not much is known about it just yet. Some players, like Mprin, are hoping to see farming and expansions on things like the gardening system! These features have been highly requested since launch, as plants are little more than decorations and collectibles at the current moment.

Referencing the post-release Roadmap released in May, we're smack dab in the middle of the Hotfixes segment, with updates from June to September (next month!) prioritizing hot fixes, bug fixes, and performance optimizations. However, after September 2026, we'll be looking to the final segment; Free Updates!

We don't yet have exacts of what this next update will include, but Paralives also has a public Notion board so players can see the progression of the game itself being made, as well as what the team has worked on, is currently working on, or plans to work on in the future.

Live Mode

Live Mode, the actual simulation and gameplay part of Paralives and other life simulations, currently has a lot of the groundwork for a life simulation; A day and night cycle, a fleshed out world or town, careers, life progression, etc., but it is still a bit barren.

Build Mode

Build Mode is exactly that; The mode you build in! Paralives' build mode is one of the more expansive parts of the current early access release of the game, with it being heavily customizable despite lacking certain features.

Paramaker

And the Paramaker, where you make your Paras! The Paramaker itself has some major milestones that we haven't seen in other life sims, like built-in asymmetry to include heterochromia, amputees, etc. It even includes a height slider with genetics and functioning animations, a whole color wheel, and so much more! It is, by far, the most customizable mode of the game.
