Next InZOI Update: New Jobs, New Interactions, New Ways to Play Coming April 29th!

The next InZOI Update is right around the corner! This coming Wednesday, April 29th, the update initially expected in May will be coming out with more career options, Create-A-Zoi flexibility, romance and family gameplay, and optimization and settings to make the game more accessible for more players!

NEXT INZOI UPDATE: New Jobs, New Interactions, New Ways to Play Coming April 29th!

Another developer diary dropped on April 24th, 2026, and this specifically was one of the longest ones dropped as it intended to go over the multitude of items expected in this update. The video was just under six minutes long, and included tons of examples of new assets, gameplay changes, and settings changes, including optimization choices previously discussed and new language support options!

○ The next InZOI Update is April 29th, 2026! That is this next coming Wednesday.

○ Multiple new careers will be coming to this next update.

○ Hair salons can be played from the perspective of both owner and customer. If you play as the owner and cut someone’s hair, you can pick the final result. If you play as the customer and get a haircut, you can ask for a certain style, but it may not turn out that way.

○ There’s a new mode outside of Create-A-Zoi for cutting and styling hair, placed directly in the Salon.

○ The stylist’s skill level will dictate the chance of success.

○ A new journalist career is being added, allowing you to interview people around town and write about their stories.

○ A new researcher career is being added, allowing you to work day and night searching for a specific formula, and there is chances of both failure and success.

○ A coder career is also being added that is active, allowing you to spend your days writing code at a desk.

○ You can also open a clothing store, styling outfits on Mannequins that customers can come in, try on, and purchase. Although, customers do not have to try on outfits to purchase it if they “feel confident” in their purchase.

○ Situational outfits in Create-A-Zoi (Like formal, active, sleepwear, etc.) are now on the left side of the screen for more accessibility/visbility.

○ Hairstyles and makeup can now be changed PER Outfit, rather than on every outfit.

○ Outfits now have multiple slots, with a choice for a “default look” and extras.

○ Control gizmos when placing items in build mode or Create-A-Zoi now follow your mouse movements to make them easier and more intuitive.

○ New “Cozy European Countryside” inspired build presets are being added to Dowon and Bliss Bay.

○ A studio background with said “Cozy European Countryside” aesthetic is being added to Create-A-Zoi’s photo studio.

○ A wristwatch with variants and swatches is being added.

○ A new over-the-head mask, like a balaclava or ski mask, is being added to Create-A-Zoi and is unlockable when committing crimes. The new masks will also scare citizens more, which can cause them to not report your crimes even if they witness it.

○ The statuses of each Zoi in a conversation is now visible.

○ More intimate and romantic actions and animations have been added.

○ Gender reveal parties have been added for expectant parents, and this can cause both positive and negative reactions.

○ An optimization category is being added to settings to make it easier to streamline settings that focus on performance. Some of the seen changes include changes to “City Population Density” and “Animal Density”.

○ The keyboard customization menu is now moved into the main options page.

○ Mouse sensitivity controls have been adjusted to make them easier to handle and adjust.

○ Language support for Turkish and Dutch are now added. It was noted that this was assisted with AI translations as it may not have been possible by other “traditional methods”. The model used for this translation is being worked on to include more languages that are currently unavailable.

○ Because said AI Model can have errors, there is now a built-in report tool allowing mistranslations to be reported by those using the language in-game. This can be accessed by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F9 all at once, and reportable text can be clicked on.

Hello everyone, happy Friday.

We’ve had a very busy week preparing the build for next week’s update.
This month in particular, we’ve been focusing development around the Unreal Engine 5.6 update that many of you helped test, with a strong emphasis on overall stability and optimization.

We’re improving the system so that settings can be better tailored to different hardware environments. On high-end systems, the goal is to provide smoother performance, while on lower-end systems, we’re working to maintain visual quality while ensuring stable gameplay.

However, as this update includes new features, there may be conflicts with existing settings. Because of this, you will need to reset your graphics options once after the update. We appreciate your understanding.

EA Allegedly Isn’t Happy About The Sims 4 Marketplace Content: New Insider Details Surface

“If the Maker Packs were more interesting they’d be selling better”

It appears that Electronic Arts isn’t happy about The Sims 4 Marketplace content. Just weeks after an insider report claiming that EA is unhappy with the current amount of Moola being sold through the Marketplace.

The same Sims insider that predicted The Sims 4 Marketplace a month ahead of its official announcement stated new information regarding EA’s satisfaction with the Marketplace content. “EA’s not happy that the content being made for the marketplace isn’t as good or interesting as either the EA or Creator Kits and believes if the Maker Packs were more interesting they’d be selling better” claimed the insider.

The insider also revealed that there is a new Sims 4 Live Event planned for May 2026, which could fit into the schedule of a new Sims 4 Update already being teased for early next month.

New The Sims 4 Marketplace Performance Report

Statement: The fact they’ve moved the official kits back out of the marketplace suggests all isn’t going as well as they’d like us to believe. Might be wishful thinking but maybe the backlash is moving the needle a little…

Sims Insider: I got some more information on the Marketplace performance, and without going to deeply into it, EA’s not happy that the content being made for the marketplace isn’t as good or interesting as either the EA or Creator Kits and believes if the Maker Packs were more interesting they’d be selling better.

Kits like Restoration Workshop, Greenhouse Haven and Book Nook Kit were hugely popular because they added things players didn’t have like the ability to build a realistic Greenhouse, Modular Bookshelves and Workshops. The issue with the Marketplace is there’s nothing there that does this and EA was expecting more unique ideas.

Whether that’s the direction of Maxis developers in charge of the marketplace or the decision of CC makers, wasn’t clear.

That said EA isn’t too concerned at the moment, because money for existing DLC is still coming through strong. The Sims 4 is moments away from having more unit sales of its DLC than The Sims 1, 2 and 3 combined (including storefronts) so the revenue is still going strong. But they do see dips in sales across the board when there’s no new packs to keep things fresh and the Marketplace was supposed to address this, but so far isn’t. Though more people claimed the free Kit than EA expected, which was good as it was used to bring people to look at the Marketplace. The issue is, people aren’t staying there for long.

New The Sims 4 Ingame Event and Project X Talks

Statement: I heard that during one of the playtests people told EA it felt way too similar to Sims 4, so now I’m curious if they tried to move even a little away from that visual style. I mean, I get that the whole point of Project X is to keep that Sims 4 vibe, but who knows what might’ve changed since then lol…This no-news silence is actually killing me

Sims Insider: The marketplace was meant to create more “buzz” so the silence isn’t supposed to be here. EA thought the Maker Packs would be more interesting.

That said, regular updates and quality of life improvements are still coming and I believe there’s an Event on the horizon unless it’s been canned because the engagement numbers aren’t needed for investors. But there was one scheduled for May but I was told this back in January.

[It’s an] In-game event. It was pencilled in back in either Dec/Jan when I was talking to someone about it, it was before the Royalty Event happened.

But overall player numbers are extremely strong, so there’s no real need for EA to worry about players leaving the game, so less need to be super loud or in your face to get people to play the game.

2025 was the most successful year for The Sims on record, and while The Sims 1 and 2 re-releases assisted with that, the Sims 4 alone was able to achieve that. Businesses & Hobbies really did a great job at keeping player engagement which was likely largely fuelled by the back of the 25th Anniversary. Perfect timing for that pack.

Unless plans have changed, X should be very Sims 4. It’s the whole idea. The Sims 4 has eclipsed the rest of the franchise and for most players is “The Sims” and players recognise older games but don’t identify or engage with them. EA doesn’t want that identity lost.

But EA are known for never having a consistent opinion and the longer games are in development, the more revisions EA give developers. Developers have learnt how to work with EA to avoid this.

Statement: To me, not carrying over DLC content is a major turn-off for me. I paid a lot of money and started playing Sims 4 recently so I am not interested in going over to Project X for the next 5 years.

Sims Insider: It’s going to be interesting to see how they address this. Do they avoid the Sims 4 brand entirely and brand it a new game and hope people don’t question how similar it is to the Sims 4, or do they acknowledge the Sims 4 and then deal with the backlash of why not all DLC carries over. There’s not going to be a simple winning formula. But neither was a Sims 5.

The biggest issue EA has right now is they were completely underprepared for how massive the Sims 4 became after the Growing Together Expansion (it was already the most successful Sims game before that point) and since then have had no idea what to do with the franchise because they’ve had no long term plans or avenues that considered this success. It’s why one second they’re saying the Sims 4 is here to stay, the next there’s a new game, the next there’s an update to overhaul the whole game, the next is selling that overhaul as a new product. They simply just don’t know how make sure they don’t lose this playerbase they’ve acquired. They also don’t want to spend insane amounts of money to keep The Sims 4 going either. They want it to be a secure profit product and having such a large back catalogue of DLC makes it very hard not to spend money to keep it stable.

It’s going to probably be the most interesting rollout for a Sims game ever.

Alleged The Sims Project X Playtest in December 2025

While The Sims Players await for new information from an internal Sims playtest that happened this work week, another player who allegedly was a part of a playtest in December 2025 shared new information. One which involves revealing the inspiration behind The Sims Project X’s new world involved in the playtest, lot count and more:

As far as I know, Project X was planned to have one base neighborhood inspired by New England, divided into three open districts, with a total of 24 lots. But that information comes from the December playtest.

During that same December playtest, they also emphasized that they wouldn’t be carrying over worlds, careers, traits into the new game.

Of course, things may have changed since then, and they could be considering different options now.

Making a PlantSim in CAS

In CAS, you’ll find a collection of new hairstyles and outfits for styling your PlantSim and let them grow their own unique style.

Friend of Nature Aspiration

There is also a new Aspiration that you can choose from, which can be completed either as a PlantSim or a non-PlantSim. No matter which path you take, your Sim will grow their green thumb and develop a more nurturing touch when caring for their garden.

Build Buy Objects

In Build Mode, you’ll discover a whole bunch of new nature-inspired items to decorate with. The bathtub is definitely my favorite! There’s also a bed, leaf nightstands and a table, a mushroom chair, a tree-inspired chair, a leafy bench, and even a pathway which we will take a closer look at later.

Plumbobs

Your PlantSim can choose from five different occult plumbobs which are Bizarre, Vines, Flowers, Mushrooms, and Branches. Depending on the nature look you want for your PlantSim, you can mix and match and give them the perfect plumbob that fits your style.

A new Skill and Perks

There’s also a brand new skill called the PlantSim Form Skill, which tracks how much your PlantSim has blossomed. As you level up this skill, your PlantSim will earn Ability Points, which can also be gained by tending to the garden.

When it comes to perks, there are so many options to choose from. The one we’re trying out in the picture below is Floral Photosynthesis. With this perk, your PlantSim transforms into a flower and regains hunger and energy.

PlantSim Abilities

Basic PlantSims gain several new abilities, including absorbing puddles to refill their Water need, communing with the Goddess of Nature to boost Fun, and sunbathing to restore Hunger and Energy. They can even go out and “Touch Grass,” to reconnect with nature.

Seasonal Domain

When your Sim becomes a PlantSim they can select a seasonal domain and grow stronger in one chosen season. Each season offers its own special benefits, and our PlantSim choose Summer. The benefits that applies on Summer season are that you’re budling your fitness skill and friendly relationships much faster.

The Goddess of Nature Sylvia

Sylvia is the Goddess of Nature who watches over all the PlantSims and take important notes of their actions. Caring for plants and protecting the environment increases your Sims Nature Affinity, while harming nature may earn her disapproval. If your Sim reaches high affinity, they may be able to summon her, but keep in mind that losing too much could lead to curses…

Nature’s Pathway

The Nature’s Pathway is a magical arch with a portal, and in front of it you’ll see an offering circle dedicated to Sylvia, the Goddess of Nature. Sims can plant harvestables as offerings to gain Nature Affinity, and if the offerings are high quality you’ll earn special gifts in return. With exceptional affinity and a perfect offering, your Sim are hopefully able to summon Sylvia, but if you offer less quality plants you could summon something else instead.

New Plants

Very mysterious and special seeds can be planted and will grow into something you haven’t seen before.

Baby PlantSims

Sylvia might gift you this seed and your Sim will feel very protective of it. As soon as it’s planted a PlantSim baby will grow inside the flower and bloom when it’s ready.

Beanstalk
If you plant a magic bean a giant beanstalk will appear. When it is fully grown your Sims can climb up and go on adventures above the clouds. You’ll need different skills to pass the beanstalk quests.

Magna Flora
The Magna Flora is a huge flower you can talk and build a relationship with. Eventually you can ask for gifts or pollen.

Other Occults

There are also three additional occult types included in this mod. The first are Myconids, a mysterious fungal species. If your Sim eats a Magic Mushroom gifted by the Goddess of Nature, they will transform into a Myconid. The second type is Satyrs, playful creatures who love music and mischief, and can often be seen playing tunes on their Pan Flute. The final type is called Bizarre PlantSims, which can appear if you have The Sims 4: StrangerVille installed. A Sim can become a Bizarre PlantSim if the Motherplant in StrangerVille possesses them.

InZOI Boss Reveals May 2025 Update Plans and Community Feedback Improvements

The game’s recent survey and feedback sessions inspired the game creator with new feature plans!

The team at InZOI has just shared the results of recent game surveys and feedback sessions. Sharing results and progress for upcoming InZOI Game Features that the team plans to pushes out before the 1.0 version launch. There’s a lot more polish and nuanced features revealed in a Wednesday message this week from InZOI’s boss Kjun, who shared new key talking points about what they’re tackling next.

The team acknowledges feedback in areas for general game and system improvements, more realistic emotions, game’s cultural diversity and additional game features.

Hello, and happy Wednesday.

This week as well, we carefully reviewed a wide range of community feedback and suggestions. Many of you have shown strong anticipation for the upcoming update, and while that enthusiasm is something we truly appreciate, it also brings a certain level of concern. Expectations can be a powerful source of motivation for us, but we want to ensure they remain grounded. Alongside many positive reactions to recent updates, you have also shared a substantial number of ideas for improvements and new features.

In particular, we received detailed feedback regarding the character personality system, the development of baby and toddler stages, career systems such as hair stylists and clothing store management, the introduction of a first-person perspective, MetaHuman integration, and various features aimed at enhancing realism and immersion.

Community Response and Key Updates

There is strong interest in the introduction of first-person perspective and the addition of careers such as hair stylists and clothing store operators. Many of you expressed a desire for more detailed mechanics within the hair stylist career, including processes like washing, drying, and dyeing, as well as customer satisfaction systems. To be precise, these elements have not been fully implemented in this update. Interest in the baby stage remains high, with requests for more detailed growth processes (such as walking and speaking), as well as a wider variety of hairstyles and clothing. We are continuing to expand these options, and additional outfits are planned for May. Regarding MetaHuman integration, there have been concerns about clipping issues and requests for improvements to the genetic system. Many of you are asking for a more sophisticated system where traits are inherited from both parents in a more realistic way. Currently, inZOI relies on transformations based on a base face, which imposes certain limitations on facial blending. We will continue internal discussions on how to improve this.

Gameplay and System Improvements

Within the career system, there is strong demand for more diverse tasks, clearer promotion pathways, the inclusion of minigames, and more realistic job activities (such as firefighting or expanded police duties). The Career update we are preparing follows a “Fundamental First” approach. Our priority is to strengthen core elements that have not been sufficiently developed so far, such as interviews, promotions, leave systems, and remote work. We will continue expanding job variety in subsequent updates. There were also many detailed suggestions regarding clothing store management, including inventory control, trend responsiveness, personalized outfit recommendations, fashion shows, and social media marketing systems. Currently, the store provides a direct purchase experience through mannequins. We are preparing to incorporate the requested features to deliver a more robust and engaging management experience. For the hair stylist career, many of you requested deeper mechanics such as hair length changes, temporary dye effects, tip variations based on customer satisfaction, diverse hairstyle and accessory combinations, and even the separation of male barbershops. We plan to implement a system where available styles depend on the character’s skill level, and we will continue refining the experience based on your feedback. There were also frequent comments regarding the lack of natural variation in emotional expression and animation, as well as requests to strengthen the visual representation of personality systems. Improvements in these areas are planned for May, including additional animations and better alignment between emotions and animation output.

Interface, Graphics, and Additional Features

In build mode, there were requests for advanced tools such as multi-selection, group saving, object rotation, and mirroring. Additional feedback included improvements to texture management, controller usability, skin quality, and camera height adjustment. If “object rotation” refers to free rotation, we are considering providing this as a cheat option. As for mirroring, while duplicating object placement is feasible, generating true mesh-level symmetry is technically challenging. Providing duplication-based alternatives may be more practical, and we would value your input on this direction. We also recognize that managing large numbers of textures can be cumbersome, and we will discuss UI improvements internally.

Cultural Diversity and Immersion

There were suggestions to deepen immersion by incorporating global cultural elements and seasonal events such as Christmas, New Year, Valentine’s Day, and Halloween, while still maintaining the core Korean cultural identity of the game. Many of you proposed expanding interactive career experiences in fields such as healthcare (doctors, nurses) and education (teachers), along with the addition of related facilities like hospitals and pharmacies. There is also strong interest in expanding into sports (such as ice hockey and skating), as well as creative and social professions like photographers, models, and musicians. Further suggestions included diversifying vehicle types, improving transportation systems, expanding urban environments, and increasing flexibility in building placement. Enhancing realism through more varied NPC behavior was also frequently mentioned, including child safety systems, deeper NPC interactions, crime systems, and vehicle collision responses. Conclusion

New The Sims 4 Update Expected for First Half of May: First Teasers

EA Community Managers are already teasing up the next Sims 4 Update!

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten news about the next The Sims 4 Update. Today there’s an official confirmation from an EA Community Manager, stating that the next update “is an update alright”, rather than just a bug-fixes release.

Community Manager Cade also confirmed the general focus of Sims 4 improvements for the first half of may. Confirming that we’re already on track to see improvements for Infants, Toddlers and General Sim Autonomy. The feedback for these were collected weeks ago in the linked Discord Feedback discussions, and it seems we’re already getting the final product release in May 2026.

The Community Manager noted that we’re first getting a Laundry List “in very early may”, shortly after which you should expect this Update to drop.

EA Community Manager: That’s great! “Upcoming Fix” is our last stop in the life of a bug before we release an update to resolve them.

We’re currently in final testing for a fix for the Secret Witness sentiment issue and expect it to be included in our Base Game update in May. We’re also wrapping up work on resolving reports of the Scandal icon not dismissing properly, which is likewise targeted for the May update.

What’s The Sims 4 Challenge Tracker Purpose?

For all the legacy challenge players out there, this is a real game changer. With this new feature, you can write down all the goals for your legacy challenge using the so called Challenge Creator and add it directly into your game. This makes it easy to keep track of your goals and check them off as you play. As you can see in the picture below this is where you start writing down the challenge and goals.

What is a Legacy Challenge?

A Legacy Challenge in The Sims is a long-term challenge where you play as one family across many generations. It usually begins with a single Sim, and your goal is to slowly build a family that grows over time. Each generation can have different goals, rules, or story ideas to follow, and this can include love stories, chaos, and more. It’s very common for legacy challenges to have themes, such as fruits, colors, and some are even inspired by movies characters. Legacy challenges are loved because they make the game feel more meaningful, while build your own family tree. A well known legacy challenge is Very Veggie created by Lilsimsie, check out our playthrough here.

The Challenge Creator

Pick a legacy challenge you want to play, or why not create your own. You can add your own customized banner, name, and description for each challenge to make it feel unique. You can also add rules, for example, if money cheats are allowed, or if your Sim must have specific traits, aspiration and so on.

You can customize which packs that are required, and if you don’t have one, that specific goal will be greyed out. There’s also an option to track numerical progress, meaning that if you need to reach a certain skill level, it will show something like 4/6 is completed.

There’s also an option to group goals. For example, if your challenge includes a “this or that” scenario, you can separate the paths and choose which one you want to complete. Once you’ve written down all your goals, added icons for each level, and feel satisfied with everything, it’s time to download the package file and place it in your Mods folder.

Gameplay Features

When you open your game, you can find your challenge by clicking on the Aspiration icon. This is where all your goals will be displayed, making it easy to keep track of your progress as you play. Whenever you complete a goal and want to check it off your list, simply right-click on the task, and it will automatically be marked as completed.

All progress is tied to the household you are playing with, so it will automatically be saved. This means you can easily continue right where you left off the next time you play.

Little quirks are personality traits, characteristics, or habits given to a Mii by the player upon leveling up. These can change how a mii walks, talks, acts in general, or just give them a trait that gives them certain habits or mannerisms.

These quirks will change how a Mii greets others, as well as the player.

Books are, just that, books! Miis can read them to themselves, or they can read them to other miis or groups of other miis. Based on the type of book or vibe of the book, different Miis will react differently to it, and may like some more than others.
