After years of waiting, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is finally here, bringing back its signature mix of chaos, humor, and social simulation with a much greater sense of scale. This time, players can build out their island with a total of 13 different buildings, each one adding new activities, interactions, and ways to shape daily life between Miis. That said, returning players may quickly notice that a few familiar locations didn’t make the cut this time, leaving some gaps that stand out, at least at first.
A big part of that experience revolves around the Tomodachi Life shops, which nowfeel more integrated into your island’s overall progression. From food and clothing stores to creative spaces and social hubs, each building unlocks gradually as you play, expanding what your Miis can do. Rather than following a strict pattern, the game leans into a more organic kind of growth, where new shops and facilities appear as your island becomes more active.

Tomodachi Life: How Facilities Work in Living the Dream
At the core of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is a system of shops that evolves alongside your island. Each store introduces a different type of interaction, from buying food and clothing to customizing interiors or creating entirely new items. Rather than unlocking everything at once, Tomodachi Life facilities are gradually introduced as your island becomes more active, giving a steady sense of progression. Although it doesn’t actually take long to unlock them all.
Most facilities follow a similar structure. Stock rotates daily, usually offering a small selection of items, and anything you purchase gets added to the store’s permanent lineup. This creates a light collection system where checking in every day becomes part of the routine. At the same time, some shops go beyond simple buying and selling, tying into creativity, social interactions, or even minigames, which helps keep the overall experience varied.
What stands out is how these Tomodachi Life facilities are connected to your overall progress. New stores do not unlock through a single clear requirement, but through a mix of factors such as the number of Miis on your island, their relationships, and your daily activity. It is a system that feels less predictable, but also more natural, as your island slowly expands without following a strict path.
All Tomodachi Life Shops and Facilities in Living The Dream
Each building has its own price in the Quik Build shop. Check it out below:
Food Mart: Buy food with a small daily selection that rotates every day. Once purchased, items remain permanently available. Price: $1000
Wishing Fountain: Collect daily donations from your Miis and exchange them for wishes to unlock new features.
Where & Wear: Purchase clothing with new stock arriving daily. Like food, bought items stay in the shop permanently. You can buy separate clothes as well as complete outfits. Price: $1000
T&C Reno: Buy interior sets to customize your Miis’ homes. Price: $3000
Quik Build: Unlock and place decorative elements for your island, such as fences, plants and additional structures. Price: $1000
Palette House: Create custom content, including food, clothing, pets, and interiors, depending on your unlocks. Price: $1000
Treasure Shop: Purchase items and creations designed in Palette House. Costs $1000
MNN News Station: Watch daily news reports featuring your Miis, often tied to island events and unlocks. Price: $1000
Rite Price: Sell unwanted treasures and items for money. Price: $3000
Tomoria: A social restaurant where Miis gather and interact. Price: $300
Marketplace: A limited-time shop with discounts during the day and a mystery bag available at night. Price: $5000
Foto-Tomo: A photo studio with unlockable poses that expand as you progress. Price: $1000
Ferris Wheel: A late-game social spot that also includes a minigame when Miis invite you. Price: $8000
Some familiar locations from Tomodachi Life 3DS are notably absent in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. Buildings like the Concert Hall, which allowed Miis to perform songs, or other smaller activity-focused spots, have not returned, at least in the current version of the game.
That said, part of their role seems to have been absorbed into the island itself. With a more open layout, Miis can now move around freely and interact in shared spaces, making the world feel less segmented than before. It also leaves the door open for future updates, so some of these missing features could always come back in a different form.
How to Unlock Tomodachi Life Shops in Living the Dream
Unlocking new Tomodachi Life shops in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is not tied to a single requirement. Instead, the game uses a flexible system where different aspects of your island contribute to overall progression.
Adding more Miis is clearly part of the equation, but it is not the only factor. Building relationships, resolving Mii problems, increasing their happiness, and regularly interacting with them all seem to push the island forward. In many cases, new shops appear once you reach a certain level of overall activity, often introduced through short in-game news segments.
A good example of this is the Ferris Wheel, currently the final unlockable building. There is no consistent requirement across players, with some unlocking it earlier and others later. In my case, I unlocked it with 10 Miis on the island, a level of 22, and several established friendships and romantic relationships. This reinforces the idea that progression is tied to a combination of factors rather than a fixed milestone.
Because of this, unlocks do not happen at the same time for everyone. Some players may gain access to late-game buildings with fewer Miis, while others might need to spend more time developing relationships or engaging with daily tasks. The system feels intentionally open, encouraging you to focus on the life of your island rather than chasing specific requirements, although it doesn’t actually take long to unlock them all.

The tool can convert any image into a paintable pixel grid that acts as an easy step-by-step guide.
Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream is finally here, and if you’re anything like me, you’ve been loving all of the custom creations players have been coming up with. If you’re struggling with getting your designs looking perfect, don’t worry! The new ‘Living The Grid’ Pixel-Art tool, created by Reddit user Clement Gonzalvez is here to help.
The custom design process can be daunting, especially if you’re not familiar with digital art, but this tool makes it much simpler by providing a paint-by-numbers guide for custom designs. All you need is an image of the design you want, and Living The Grid does the rest for you. We’ll explore the tool and explain how it works below!
Table of Contents
Tool Information
Many players will be familiar with similar image conversion tools, such as those used to create custom designs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Living The Grid is slightly different, however, as there is no option for a direct transfer from the tool to the game itself. Instead, the tool generates a design based on your image, presented in a pixel grid, which can then be used as a guide for drawing that same design in-game.
Living The Grid has a range of different grid sizes, all of which can be translated onto Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream‘s 256 × 256 canvas. The level of detail in your design will depend on the number of pixels you select. The tool’s colour palette also uses the exact same colour swatches – 77 swatches plus 7 pure saturated extras – organised using row and column labels to make recreating your designs a much simpler process!
The colours used in a design are outlined and labelled so you can easily find the same colours in-game.
Conversion tools in the past typically required a Nintendo Switch Online subscription in order to transfer designs via the app. Living The Grid is completely free to use, ad-free and works in your browser, so it doesn’t require an account or any downloads.
Gonzalvez stated the tool was created as they “really wanted to get into pixel art in the game but didn’t find satisfactory tools to help”, which inspired them to make their own and ease the process of drawing designs in-game.
How To Use Living The Grid
Getting started is simple – just upload the picture you want to recreate in game and you’ll be presented with an easy-to-follow guide. Be aware that the more colours your image uses, the less accurate the conversion will be due to the limitations of the game’s colour palette and pixel grid format.
The tool then generates a pixel-art version of your image using the closest colour matches from the in-game palette. On the left of the screen, you’ll see a range of adjustment options including preset colour palettes, the amount of colours used and the brush size. One great feature is the paint-by-numbers toggle in the display menu, which assigns each colour a number so you can see exactly where they are used in the image. You can also see where colours are used by hovering over them in the menu.
There are two stroke modes to choose from; pixel-perfect, which has four brush sizes that ‘snap’ to the grid, and smooth, which has six brushes that move more freely. Experiment with both to see which style you prefer the look of. In-game, pick your brush, set it to square and pixel and the canvas will behave like a pixel grid, making copying your designs over much easier.
Once you’ve adjusted your design to your liking, you’re ready to recreate it in Tomodachi Life. As we mentioned above, you cannot directly export your designs from Living The Grid into the game, you’ll still need to draw them out yourself.
Make sure you’re using pro-artist mode, as easy mode has a much more limited palette and less design tools. To open pro-artist mode, tap the gear icon top-right of the toolbar. The pixel art style can be a bit time consuming at first, especially if you’re new to it, but the Living The Grid tool is definitely a huge help when it comes to designing custom clothing, food and objects for your Miis to enjoy.
Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream is available now for Switch and Switch 2.

Have you ever had a sim born in your game with an extra trait you didn’t pick upon aging up, purchase through aspiration rewards, gain through personality discoveries, etc., and wondered where it came from? Sims 4 Inherited Traits are generally only discovered through gameplay with Sims born in-game, rather than those created in Create-A-Sim. These traits generally indicate something about a Sims heritage, childhood, or occult status (Or a combination of all three)!
If you prefer to play with premade sims, at least to test these traits, some Sims from expansion packs carry inheritable traits. Nyon Specter from Sims 4 Life & Death is a Grimborn sim, and Mara Summerdream from Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature has the High Fae Lineage trait.
How Inherited Traits Work/What They Are
Inheritable traits are traits that are carried through genetic lines or based on certain conception circumstances. These can include place of birth, special NPC status, or parent occult status. These traits can also be passed on via parents who inherited them already, allowing them to pass through multiple generations even once they are removed from the initial source.
Some of these traits carry special gameplay features, moodlets, buffs, etc., although some are just a simple nod to the sims conception as these can only occur with sims born in-game, and none of them can be applied in Create-A-Sim or gained through personality discovery.
To make it easier to reference or browse, this guide is sorted by packs. To keep it concise, EP means “Expansion Pack” and GP means “Game Pack” since all inherited traits come from either one of these two DLC types. While there are other traits that are temporary traits, bonus traits, hidden traits, etc., this article will primarily focus on traits inherited by a Sim’s parentage or conception.

EP: Cats & Dogs
Hidden Lighthouse Baby Trait
The first of the inheritable traits is a hidden one, only discovered through those rooting through the internal files of The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs DLC and from a funny little moodlet.
On the bottom corner of the Brindleton Bay map, the world featured in The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs, there is a lighthouse with a deep history in the town. Sims can visit this lighthouse just to do some sightseeing… or to woohoo in. To get this trait, a sim must be conceived from a “Try for Baby” interaction in the lighthouse.
Once your lighthouse baby is old enough, typically once they’ve aged up to a child, you can send them to Brindleton Bay to visit the lighthouse and receive this moodlet:
There’s something so familiar about this place. It fills <Sim Name> with an inner light. They are positively glowing!
EP: Seasons
Father Winter’s Baby
Anybody who has seasons is likely well aware of Father Winter, with his large amount of family funds, generosity in giving gifts like an expensive camera (or a piece of coal), and his jolly spirit. While he can be added or removed from any holiday created or edited by the player in-game, he will appear during the plain Sims 4 Seasons “Winterfest” Holiday, showing up around 9PM. He shows up near fireplaces, or just by walking through the door if one is not available or the area around it is inaccessible.
During his time at the home, or after if you get to know him, you can build a romantic relationship and deep friendship with Father Winter. This includes being able to Woohoo him, and more specifically, try for baby. A baby born to father winter will inherit the Father Winter’s Baby trait, with the following description. A little hint to this is, when your sim is giving birth, some mystical lights will pop up under them!
Wow! Father Winter is actually <Sim Name>’s Dad! That’s amazing! Wonder if they get any magical abilities?
While they do not have any magical abilities like their whimsical parent, sims with this trait do get an increase to their Satisfaction points gain by 50%!
EP: Island Living
Sulani Mana
Sulani Mana is a trait found on all Island Elemental sims, an occult type found in The Sims 4 Island Living that can be communed with if a sim has the Child of the Islands trait. Summoning them allows your sims to build a relationship with them, ask for their judgment in regards to the island itself. By having a child with an island elemental sim, the conceived baby will inherit the Sulani Mana trait, giving them the ability to increase a plant’s quality and summon the volcanic bombs that normally appear randomly with the Volcanic Activity lot challenge.
This Sim is imbued with Sulani’s elemental energy due to their heritage. They can increase the quality of plants as well as summon Volcanic Bombs.
EP: Life & Death
Burning Soul & Reborn
The Bucket List, or Unfinished Business if a sim passes before they’re able to complete it, is the primary gameplay mechanic to complete a sim’s Soul’s Journey. This expands upon the concept of aspirations and life satisfaction, allowing sims to become truly at peace before passing on (or to wreak havoc if their death is more… untimely). Sims get multiple rewards for different tiers of satisfaction, both while living and dead.
Once you have completely filled a living Sim’s Soul’s Journey, they will inherit the Burning Soul trait, which will unlock the ability to Rebirth once they’ve passed on. Rebirthing allows the sim to be revived completely the same, or as a completely new sim, into any household at any age. They can form new family relationships with sims, and will get moodlets and buffs for interacting with sims from a past life.
To be reborn, Sims with the Burning Soul trait will head to the Baleful Bog in Ravenwood and swim in it, giving you the ability to add them to an existing family at any age, with or without their current appearance, the same traits, etc. You can even be reborn into an entirely different family and take on the genetics of said family! Including a very wealthy and powerful one…
Reborn Trait Description: This sim has been reborn! Reborn Sims have special connections with Sims they once knew in their previous life and may have some somber feelings when visiting their old gravestones. Take this extra chance to live life to its fullest!
Burning Soul Trait Description: <Sim Name>’s soul burns bright! As a ghost, <Sim Name> receives extra benefits to their Ghost Mastery stamina, enabling them to perform abilities more frequently. The burning soul trait persists beyond death, accompanying <Sim Name> into their next life after Rebirth. <Sim Name> can retain one personality trait from their previous life with the Recall Past Life self-interaction, along with certain other traits by using the Peer Into Soul interaction available on mirrors. If <Sim Name> is reborn as a younger sim, certain developmental skills will be immediately unlocked. As an added bonsues, young adults and older get the extraordinary ability to defy the boundaries of Life and Death, enabling Transcendent WooHoo as a living Sim. This trait is a one-time blessing, accompanying <Sim Name> into their next life only once.
Grimborn
Grimborn sims are sims born… from the Grim Reaper and another sim. This can be achieved by developing a relationship with the Grim Reaper, either through meeting him in a very dark meet-cute situation (Aka, when someone dies), through the Reaper Career (Where he is your boss), or while he roams around the neighborhood of Mourningvale in Ravenwood. With the update prior to The Sims 4 Life & Death, The Grim Reaper officially has genetics and can officially be a parent.
Any children with the Grimborn trait will have a subtle scythe birthmark on their neck, towards the back and just under their ear, and will have longer lifespans than the average.
The offspring of the Grim Reaper carry an air of mystique. A scythe-shaped birthmark on their neck serves as a haunting reminder of their otherworldly lineage and their inevitable connection to the cycle of life and death.
Grim Descendant
And if your Grimborn child decides to have any children in the future, their children will appear largely normal except for another trait showing their lineage; Grim Descendant.
Offspring from a Grimborn Sims carry on the legacy of the Reaper!
EP: Enchanted by Nature
High Fae Lineage
Having Fairy Parents has brought a magical lineage that gives a Sim additional Fairy Experience from all sources.
While playing with Fairy Sims, any children born to them will carry a High Fae Lineage trait. This includes sims with a single fairy parent, or sims where both parents are fairies. When testing, babies born with the High Fae Lineage could also carry other Occult special traits, like the Weak Bloodline trait from the other parent being a Spellcaster from Sims 4 Realm of Magic.
EP: Adventure Awaits
Peculiar Plumbird Baby
Special inheritable traits don’t just surround occult status or conception, but also who the other parent was specifically. In Gibbi Point from Sims 4 Adventure Awaits, a Peculiar Plumbird is a folktale Sim who roams around the world and can be met and socialized with.
If you can romance Pruella Preener and get her to move in, she’ll lose her Plumbird form and your Sim can Try for Baby with her. She is a trans woman, and her gender settings allow her to impregnate other sims. She also gains the trait Previously a Peculiar Plumbird.
Any babies born from a pregnancy with a sim and Pruella will have a trait marking that their parent used to be a Peculiar Plumbird.
Fowl Offspring of Former Peculiar Plumbird.
EP: Royalty & Legacy
With the Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy Dynasty system, you can use the perk points gained to earn “Affinity Perks” for your dynasty. Any active affinities will be applied to babies born into the dynasty, scaling to higher levels based on the level of their parent. There are four skill categories that have affinity perks, and the vast majority of skills in The Sims 4 fall into one of these categories; Creative, Mental, Physical, and Social.
There are four separate affinity perks for each category, and all can be unlocked and active within a single dynasty. They also account for any babies born into a dynasty, meaning that Science babies will inherit them, and I solely used Science babies for testing.
Mild Affinities
A child born into the dynasty to parents or a parent with no affinity traits whatsoever will have a mild affinity trait.
<Sim Name> was born into a Dynasty with the [Skill Type] Affinity Perk. They will have slightly improved skill gain in [Skill Type] Skills.
Moderate Affinities
If a sim with a mild affinity trait has a child within a dynasty with the same active affinity perk, their child will have a moderate affinity trait.
At least one of <Sim Name>‘s parents had the Mild [Skill Type] Affinity trait. They will have moderately improved skill gain in [Skill Type] Skills and produce better results when using [Skill Type] Skills.
Strong Affinities
If a sim with a moderate affinity trait has a child within a dynasty with the same active affinity perk, their child will have a strong affinity trait. Any further children after this point would have a strong affinity trait.
At least one of <Sim Name>’s parents had the Moderate [Skill Type] Affinity trait. They will have stronger improved skill gain in [Skill Type] Skills and produce better results when using Creative Skills.
GP: Realm of Magic
Like most occult Sims excluding Aliens, most will gain the full potential of their occult status once they’ve aged up into a teen, though you can see their status in Create-A-Sim, and there is hints for each occult in-game at younger life stages. In The Sims 4 Realm of Magic, Spellcasters gain full access to magic upon aging up to a teen, but traits relating to their parentage or bloodline appear as soon as they age up to infancy and you can view all of their traits.
If your initial Spellcaster, generally someone you created in CAS as a Spellcaster, a sim who was turned via gameplay or cheats in-game, or a premade sim that is a spellcaster, decides to have children and continue their bloodline, their children, grandchildren, and any further descendants will have traits to reflect that so long as they are also Spellcasters.
Weak Bloodline
If a Spellcaster Sim is born one generation removed from your initial Spellcaster, they will gain a Weak Bloodline trait.
This Sim’s parents had no Bloodline traits. Sims with the Weak Bloodline trait gain an additional talent point at each Spellcaster rank to spend towards perks. They also gain Spellcaster experience faster and reduce the chance of overloading by 10%.
Strong Bloodline
If a Spellcaster Sim is born two generations removed, meaning they are the grandchild of the initial Spellcaster and their parent carried the Weak Bloodline trait, they will gain a Strong Bloodline trait.
At least one of this Sim’shad a Weak Bloodline trait. Sims with the Strong Bloodline trait gain an additional talent point at each Spellcaster rank to spend towards perks. They also gain Spellcaster experience faster and reduce the chance of overloading by 20%.
Ancient Bloodline
If a Spellcaster Sim is born three generations removed from your initial Spellcaster, meaning they are the great-grandchild of the initial Spellcaster and their parent carried the Strong Bloodline trait, they will gain an Ancient Bloodline trait.
The partner sim on the furthest left half is Care Ren, a premade fairy NPC. The partner sim on the right, the redhead man, is a randomly generated human sim met on Cupid’s Corner.
I also tested this with both of the twins who carried the Strong Bloodline trait having children, with one having a child through WooHoo, and the other through having a science baby. The twin who conceived naturally had a human partner, and the sim who had a science baby had a fairy partner. Both children born to the sisters had the Ancient Bloodline trait.
At least one of this Sim’s parents had a Strong or Ancient Bloodline trait. Sims with the Ancient Bloodline trait gain an additional talent point at each Spellcaster rank to spend towards perks. They also gain Spellcaster experience faster and reduce the chance of overloading by 50%.
GP: Werewolves
Unlike other occults, Sims 4 Werewolves were built for their lineage to be somewhat spotty. Not every child born to them will innately be another Werewolf, even if both parents are. Generally, like most Sims 4 genetics, the child can either be one status or the other. For example, if your human sim has a baby with a vampire sim, they can have either a vampire baby or a human baby. This also is typically how it goes for most occults, excluding Sims 4 Get to Works Aliens which can also have full, half-alien, and part-alien hybrids.
Dormant Wolf
A sim with the Dormant Wolf trait is a Sim that acts like a typical human, but can “awaken their inner wolf” through specific gameplay features. As previously stated, they can either have one or both parents who are werewolves, and there is always a chance for a child to inherit the Dormant Wolf trait if they Werewolf blood from a parent directly.
Out of a set of triplets born to a werewolf and a human Sim, two got the Dormant Wolf trait and one was werewolf without a special trait.
The wolf sleeps soundly within <Sim Name>. What would it take to awaken?
If you want to awaken a Dormant Wolf’s full werewolf form, visit Lake Lunvik in Moonwood Mill when the Sim is a teen or older, and have them swim in the lake during a full moon. The lake will be sparkling when it is officially nightfall and the full moon is out. When they come back to shore, they will transform into a full werewolf.
Greater Wolf Blood
On the opposing side of Sims 4 Werewolf genetics, Sims with the Greater Wolf Blood trait have at least one or both parents who are werewolves, but they do not to inherently be a werewolf to actually get this trait, as it is random. If they have this trait and later choose to become a werewolf, it acts similarly to the Magical Bloodline traits for Sims 4 Spellcasters, helping them progress through Werewolf ranks and gain experience quicker.
Greater Wolf Blood is a rarer trait, no matter if both or only one parent is actually a werewolf. Out of 10 babies, I only ran into one with the Greater Wolf Blood trait, while the Dormant Wolf trait appeared four times. The only time I got Greater Wolf Blood was a single baby from a set of triplets, born from parents created in CAS who were both werewolves. I will note that, per the trait description, the trait comes from “Having Werewolf Parents, and a Bit of Luck”, indicating it is almost entirely up to chance.
The moon has blessed <Sim Name>with a Greater Wolf Blood, enhancing their Werewolf growth. Talk about high expectations!
Here we take a moment to think about the ridiculous amount of children and wonky family trees that now exist in this save. A moment of silence, please.
Do you play with occults or the systems that create these traits, and do you have a favorite? What combinations have you found that work really well, or some that don’t? Let us know!

In Tomodachi Life Living the Dream, Miis are great at walking around and falling over and chatting about island lingo, but they’re not so great at the important stuff, like taking care of themselves. As their Overlord (or whatever you opted to have them call you), you’re responsible for managing Mii needs, from feeding them to fulfilling their aesthetic preferences to helping them out when they’re in a pickle. And if you take care of them successfully, there are rewards in store. Here’s how to identify what your Miis need and how to fulfill those Mii needs.
Guide to Mii Needs in Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream
How To Tell When A Mii Needs Something
In Tomodachi Life Living the Dream, Mii needs are indicated in a few ways. The most common one is a yellow, orange, or pink frustration bubble that pops up above a Mii’s house or head. Yellow is a material or aesthetic need, orange is a friendship-related need, and pink is a romance-related need. Flashing shapes above a Mii can also indicate a Mii needs something.
You can also see when a Mii needs something by looking at the Mii icon in the bottom right. If there is a thought bubble with a number in it, one or more Miis need something (though it can also indicate a dream you can view).
What Happens When You Satisfy Mii Needs
Satisfying Mii needs can fill Miis’ happiness bars in Living the Dream, but it’s not guaranteed. For example, if you give them something they don’t like — food, clothing, or interiors — the request will still be fulfilled but they won’t gain much or any happiness. You do not have to satisfy their needs if you don’t want to, but it can benefit you to do so. Depending on what the need is and how successful you are at filling it, you may gain Warm Fuzzies and money.
Miis Want To Be Fed
Tomodachi Life Miis do not run well on empty stomachs, but don’t worry — they’ll let you know when they desire something tasty. A frustration bubble will show up and they’ll ask for dinner or tell you they’re hungry. All you need to do is give them a dish you already have or buy something from Fresh Kingdom food mart. Even if you don’t completely fill their stomach up (a lot of the snack-y foods don’t), the Mii need will be completed. Now, if you give them something they don’t like, their happiness can decrease. Though, because this is Tomodachi Life, it’s a guessing game on what Miis do and do not like. Good luck!
Miis Want To Be Stylish
A frustration bubble can also indicate that Miis want some new clothes. This bubble appears to be more common when they’re in their default clothes, but it can also come up when they’re wearing an outfit you bought for them. This is sometimes the case when they don’t like what you bought them. You can buy them a single piece of clothing, or a whole outfit, from Where and Wear to satisfy this Mii need. Miis may also ask if they can switch up their existing hairstyle, which you can oblige or reject. Rejecting does not have negative consequences.
Miis Want Interior and Exterior Decor
The default houses are pretty boring, so what a Mii needs might be a new house interior. Give them an interior (a room set or a wallpaper or flooring) you already have or purchase one that you feel fits their style at T&C Reno home supply. Miis may also want to add outside decor, like streets, lights, or benches. The only thing you need to do for outside decor requests is fork over some cash and the game will decorate for you. If you don’t like what your Miis are proposing, you can reject them too.
Miis Need Help After An Accident
Living the Dream Miis will get themselves into sticky situations, like falling over or freezing up or stuck with endless hiccups. They will need you to fix this, which you can either do yourself or get another Mii to come and help. It’s generally better to have another Mii assist for the sake of building relationships.
Miis Need Their Heads Cleared
Sometimes a Mii just needs you to clear their head. This starts a quick-time mini-game where you have to rapidly press on the objects in their head and clear them all in five seconds. If you’re successful, you’ll get the object — which can be anything from a Hercules Beetle to French Onion Soup — that was stuck in their head as a prize. If you’re not, you’ll still get a little happiness and a few Warm Fuzzies.
Relationship-Related Mii Needs
Frustration bubbles can also indicate a variety of relationship-related needs, including wanting to be friends with another Mii, wanting to move in with another Mii, wanting to talk to another Mii, or even looking for your advice on matters of the heart.
Considering you can add up to 70 Miis in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream, there are going to be a lot of Mii needs to be fulfilled. But the more needs you complete, the more your Miis and your island will level up, unlocking more objects, quirks, and decor to maximize the potential for chaos. After all, Living the Dream is as much about customizing your island as it is experiencing the unhinged cutscenes and Mii behaviors.
The latest update to the UI Cheats Extension mod by weerbesu keeps one of The Sims 4’s most popular quality-of-life tools fully up to date, while introducing a subtle but meaningful feature for players who enjoy storytelling and detailed customization. If you’re unfamiliar with how the mod works, you can check out our full guide to the UI Cheats Extension, which breaks down its full functionality and features.
What’s New in v1.54
Version 1.54 updates the mod for the latest game patch and adds support for Formative Moments within the add trait cheat. This allows players to assign these moments directly through the user interface instead of relying on gameplay triggers or console commands, making the process much faster and more accessible.
Why This Matters
UI Cheats Extension has always been about speed and convenience, allowing players to adjust gameplay elements with a simple click instead of typing commands. With Formative Moments now included, story-driven players can shape a Sim’s past instantly, legacy players can fix missing or bugged milestones, and save file creators can fine-tune Sims before sharing. It’s a small addition on paper, but it fits perfectly with how the mod is designed to streamline gameplay.
Formative Moments in Trait Menu
Formative Moments can now be accessed directly through the Add Trait menu using UI Cheats Extension.
Selecting a Formative Moment
“Action-Packed Childhood” highlighted, showing how you can browse and select Formative Moments just like any other trait.
After Applying the Trait
The Simology panel showing “Action-Packed Childhood” after being added. Once selected, the Formative Moment is instantly applied to the Sim’s profile.
A Small but Meaningful Update
While this update is relatively small, it’s a meaningful addition for players who rely on storytelling tools and detailed customization. UI Cheats Extension continues to evolve alongside The Sims 4, making it easier than ever to shape your Sims’ lives with just a few clicks.

Trying to get your Miis to fall in love in Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream leads to all sorts of antics, unrequited feelings, and, above all, romance.
We will walk you through navigating romance, marriage, and relationships in this handy guide. For all of our other guides and walkthroughs, visit our dedicated Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream page.
Romance In Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream
Crushes
Crushes can develop between Miis on your island, and there are a few ways you can help encourage feelings to blossom.
The best way to encourage romance is to keep having two Miis interact. Do this by dragging and dropping them next to each other to force them to interact, and by bringing Miis over to help anyone who is frozen or in a hiccup loop. If you want Miis to fall for each other, the more interactions the better.
Compatibility
Your residents won’t be able to form crushes on each other if there is no chance of feelings being returned. For example, if you have two female Miis, but one is only attracted to men and the other to women, there is no chance of crushes developing between them. We have to set them up for success somewhat!
How To Know If Feelings are Developing
There are two ways Miis might reveal their feelings to you: a romantic cutscene or a custom thought bubble.
Romantic Cutscenes
When these cutscenes happen, it is absolutely adorable!
You’ll notice one of your Miis staring at another, and when you click to interact with them, the cutscene will play out.
Once it plays out, you have the option to choose whether or not to encourage this crush to blossom or if your Mii is just imagining their feelings. If you choose to let romance blossom, you’ll see the relationship between the two residents change.
Thought Bubbles
If your Miis want to talk to you about a blossoming romance, they will get a pink thought bubble above their head.
From there, you will be able to talk to them about who they are developing a crush on and either encourage it or dismiss it.
If your Mii already has a crush on someone and then starts developing romantic feelings for someone new, they’ll ask you who they really like, which gives you a little bit of control over the romances on your island.
Fading Feelings
Miis are fickle with their romantic connections and will fall out of love as quickly as they fell for someone. All it can take is a bad joke, and all of a sudden, those feelings of romance have vanished.
You can encourage them to rekindle romantic feelings by pushing them together, encouraging conversations around the island, and bringing them over to help a Mii who has frozen or gotten stuck in a hiccup loop. Since they have already developed feelings for them once, it will take less time to rekindle those feelings.
Confessing Attraction
Eventually, the time will come when your residents will want to express their feelings!
They will have the ‘wants to confess’ relationship label for a while before the event gets triggered, so once you see both Miis have the ‘wants to confess’ label, keep encouraging them to spend time together to hurry things along. After a while, you’ll notice the pink thought bubble above one of their heads, and chances are, this is them getting ready to tell you they want to declare their feelings.
You will be able to control how they do this in a series of options menus, where you will choose the location and vibe for this expression of love.
After that, you’ll be treated to a really cute cutscene where you just have to sit back and hope the feelings are reciprocated!
Marriage
Once two of your Miis have been sweethearts for a couple of days and spent plenty of time together, they will eventually have the option to get married.
You’ll see one of the couple’s members have a pink thought bubble above their head and then tell you they want to ask their sweetheart to marry them. You can then discourage it if you want to.
As long as the other resident says yes, you’ll immediately get taken to a cute marriage cutscene where all your Miis have gathered to celebrate this blossoming romance, and see them whisked away on a honeymoon.
Unrequited Love, Getting Rejected, & Trying Again
Not all romantic feelings on your island are going to be returned.
Sometimes Miis can get the wrong idea and think that someone has feelings for them when they don’t, and if they act on it, they will almost certainly be rejected.
Miiis that get rejected will have their happiness metre replaced with a sadness metre and won’t participate in island activities until they’re cheered up.
You can also encourage them to try again if you think they might react differently (or if you just want to see your Mii get rejected again).
Turns out cake or other gifts are a good way to seal the deal!
Miis will also be rejected if the person they are confessing their attraction to is already in love with or sweethearts with another resident on the island. So it doesn’t appear that Miis can have wandering eyes once they’re in relationships or cheating spouses.
Coping With Rejection
No one likes being rejected, and it’s no different for your Miis.
There are things you can do to help them cope with sadness, like feed them their favourite foods or give them gifts, but often they will just want to be left alone.
You can encourage your other island residents to come over and try to cheer them up by dragging and dropping them into their vicinity. It’s more likely to work if they are already close.
You might witness the most awkward small talk you’ve ever seen, or some genuinely sweet moments.
Something To Remember
Before you start playing island matchmaker, it’s important to remember that whilst the randomness of the game is one of its biggest selling points, it also means you can’t control who falls for who, how long the romantic feelings last, or really any kind of micromanagement of relationships. All you can do is gently nudge two Miis together by encouraging them to interact.
We’d love to hear what your island residents have been getting up to! Have you had any success with romantic relationships between your Miis? Let us know below and on social media.
Every Sims player has their own way of playing. Some focus on building, others on storytelling, and some simply let the chaos unfold naturally. Then there are saves like this one, where things take a slightly more unconventional direction.
Over on r/LowSodiumSimmers, Reddit user xutachii shared a moment from their game that feels equal parts wholesome and mildly concerning. Their Sim is technically a normal Sim, but the player shared that they “like to think she’s a simplant!” She lives a quiet life as a farmer and dreams of building her own greenhouse. So far, everything sounds fairly standard.
But then there is the Cowplant.
In the screenshot, the Sim stands beside her Cowplant, which has clearly become more than just a quirky addition to the garden. According to the player, she not only cares for it, she also feeds it her enemies. Casually. As if that is just part of the daily routine.
It is one of those moments that makes you pause and wonder how different every save file can be. What starts as a simple farming story slowly turns into something a little more complex… blending cozy gameplay with a darker undercurrent beneath the surface.
The comments only add to the intrigue. One user joked about naming the Cowplant “Moo-lissa,” while another admitted that posts like this make them feel like they have been playing the game all wrong. It is easy to see why. There is something oddly creative about leaning fully into the stranger possibilities The Sims 4 allows.
Still, despite the questionable feeding habits, there is a sense of personality here that makes the whole scenario feel oddly grounded. It is a reminder that sometimes the most memorable Sims stories are not the perfectly planned ones, but the ones that start off simple… and then suddenly you are feeding people to a plant like that was always the plan.
Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream surprises its fanbase with the ability of having one-sided friendships (or romances). On top of that there are standard relationship types that we’ve already been introduced with in the first iteration.
Each Mii pair in Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream a relationship type with a meter that tracks how their relationship is standing. The meter range depends on the relationship and how two Miis get along. As you can tell by the Meter points, the ranges go from negative to positive points. Negative points for Sweethearts means they’re not getting along, while the highest positive point means they’re already ready to get married!

Tomodachi Life Living the Dream is officially out, which means that your Miis have been released from demo completion house arrest. Now that they’ve returned to their normal selves from being living advertisements for the game, it’s time for them to get out there and make some connections! Making friends in Living the Dream adds chaos to your island as Miis chat and run into wild situations together. But how does one make Tomodachi Life friends?
Getting Started With Tomodachi Life Friends
Before you can have your Miis befriend each other, they have to know each other. This is a pretty simple thing to achieve — just pick up your Mii and drop them over to the other island resident you want them to meet. They will chat a little, which is called “Getting familiar” and then end up in the Acquaintance category.
Requesting To Be Friends
To make Tomodachi Life friends, keep having your Miis interact with each other. They may do this autonomously, but you can easily intervene (or manipulate, depending on how you see it) by dragging and dropping Miis next to each other to force them to interact. Sometimes, this will trigger a cutscene, but other times they’ll just start chatting. As a side note, Miis will hang out when you’re offline, so it’s possible to log back on and find friendships have been formed.
Once acquainted, if a Mii likes another Mii, they may say they want to be friends and ask you to help them. If you agree to help them (you can say no!), they will ask for a topic to chat about in their friendship attempt. This can be a person, thing, activity, or “something else,” which is just anything that doesn’t fit into the other categories. You can type in whatever you’d like them to talk about and then off they’ll go to try and officially befriend the other Mii.
If it goes well, they’ll be elevated to Friends status. At this point, they’ll ask to give each other custom nicknames, which you can choose. Type in something logical or silly depending on your style, or exit out of the interaction if you don’t want nicknames.
Other Ways To Make Friends
The path to making Tomodachi Life friends can also involve Miis setting each other up to be friends. A Mii may suggest that two people they know would make good friends and then they facilitate a meet up.
You can also further Miis’ relationships by sending them to rescue each other from the various issues they run into, like falling over or freezing up.
Relationship Statuses
When it comes to making Tomodachi Life friends, there are different categories and subcategories of relationships. Miis start out in the Acquaintance category after meeting someone. They’ll have subcategories based on their interest in the other Mii, like “Seems-like minded,” “Vibes with,” and “Wants to be friends” if they like the other Mii, or “Not interested” if they don’t.
The next relationship status is Friend, with subcategories including Friends, Good Friends, Great Friends, Best Friends, and Ultra Friends. These subcategories aren’t always positive, though. If their relationship is struggling (which can happen if Miis get in a fight or a romantic rejection occurs), you might see a subcategory like “Kinda getting along” or “Not getting along.”
It’s also important to note that in relationships, the two Miis won’t necessarily share the same opinions of each other. For example, Mii A could have the “Vibes with” subcategory with Mii B, but from Mii B’s perspective they are “Not interested” in being friends with Mii A. This is because making Tomodachi Life friends depends on personality compatibility.
Compatibility Matters When Making Friends
Not all Miis are destined to get along with each other. There are 16 different personalities in Living the Dream, and they will determine your Miis ability (or inability) to form friendships and later romances. Now, who gets along with who is not something the game is going to tell you. It’s going to take some trial-and-error on your part to figure out which personalities mesh. Which might make things awkward if you create your best friend in-game and then your Miis’ personalities clash. But such is the unpredictable, random nature of Tomodachi Life friends and Living the Dream in general.
There’s no cheat code for fostering relationships, platonic or romantic. While you can certainly keep making your Miis hang out, who your Miis decide to befriend is not entirely in your control.

The Bunny Hop Kids Room set is the definition of cozy gameplay. Designed with soft pastels and adorable bunny motifs, it creates a warm and inviting space that feels perfect for storytelling-focused players.
This set includes 22 assets, all designed in a Maxis Match style that blends effortlessly with the base game. The furniture leans into soft wood tones and gentle color palettes, making it easy to incorporate into a variety of builds without feeling out of place.
What stands out most is the thoughtful functionality. The custom sofa includes built-in storage for toys and books, while the backpack also doubles as a storage item. These small but meaningful details elevate the set beyond aesthetics and make it genuinely useful in everyday gameplay.
It’s the kind of set that doesn’t just decorate a room, it helps bring it to life.
Bunny Hop Nursery Addons: A Natural Expansion
The Bunny Hop Nursery Addons feel like a true extension of the original set rather than a separate release.
The set allows players to create a full life-stage progression within the same aesthetic, which is especially valuable for legacy gameplay. Being able to design a nursery that flows seamlessly into a child’s bedroom adds a sense of continuity that enhances storytelling.
The inclusion of functional objects like the crib, changing table, and rocking chair ensures that the set supports gameplay just as much as it enhances visuals.
Even without additional packs, everything works smoothly in the base game, making this set widely accessible to the community.
Build & Buy Catalog Overview
The Build & Buy additions across the Bunny Hop Kids Room and Bunny Hop Nursery Addons feel cohesive and purposeful, offering players everything they need to create a fully realized space for children and toddlers alike.
The kids room set includes essentials like a bed, desk, shelving, storage pieces, and a variety of clutter items that add personality without overwhelming the space. Everything shares that same soft, rounded style, so it all comes together in a really cozy way.
The Nursery Addons expand on this beautifully by introducing items designed for younger Sims. These include a crib, changing table, rocking chair, playmat, wall-mounted mobile, and baby-themed clutter. The addition of a baby clothes rack and diaper pail helps round out the set, making it feel complete.
Everything is base game compatible, which makes this set especially accessible for players who don’t use expansion packs. Even better, the swatches are consistent across both sets, allowing you to transition seamlessly from nursery to kids room within the same household.
Swatch Previews
Swatch variety is one of the strongest aspects of these SimsPancake Sims 4 CC Sets.
Most items come in around 12 swatches, featuring soft pastel tones like pink, green, yellow, and blue, along with more neutral options. This gives players flexibility to lean fully into the bunny-themed aesthetic or tone things down for a more subtle, modern look.
The coordination between swatches makes building much easier. Instead of hunting for matching pieces, everything is designed to work together naturally, which is especially helpful for players who value cohesive interiors.
It’s clear that a lot of care went into making sure each item complements the others.

Soft Silhouette Collection: A Dreamy CAS Bonus
While the Bunny Hop sets focus on interiors, the Soft Silhouette Collection brings a completely different experience to Create-a-Sim with a soft, romantic aesthetic.
The collection centers around a layered ruffle mini dress, supported by coordinated accessories and beauty details like glossy lipstick, bow earrings, a ribbon choker, and matching heels. The overall look feels cohesive and clearly designed to work together as a full outfit.
There’s also a nice amount of variety across the set. The dress, accessories, heels, and nails each come in 18 swatches, while the eyeshadow includes 15 options and the lipstick offers 8. The hairstyle features 24 EA swatches, giving players plenty of flexibility when styling their Sims.
That said, some pieces may come down to personal preference. The eyeshadow leans a bit on the stronger side compared to the softer aesthetic, and the hairstyle may not appeal to everyone depending on your usual CAS style.
Even so, there are standout elements here. The dress and accessories are especially versatile and can easily be mixed into other outfits, making the collection still feel worthwhile for players who enjoy soft, feminine styling.

InZOI Update: Another Week of Development – April 17th, 2026
Hello everyone.
Thank you for your valuable feedback on last week’s school gameplay. We are currently focusing on mod development and continuously working on overall stabilization. Your suggestions will be implemented step by step where feasible.
A simple first-person perspective has been implemented and will be available in an upcoming update. In Build Mode, we are developing a feature that allows selecting multiple items at once to improve workflow efficiency. New careers, including a hair designer and a clothing store operator, are being added, with further expansion planned.
A freelancer system will allow users to publish their creations and earn rewards based on responses. For corporate careers, we have added features such as interviews, leave management, and workplace events. In addition, we have expanded interactable objects, improved quality-of-life features, and added various content including new hairstyles and baby items.
To lower the barrier to mod creation, we are preparing external appearance expansion features, including MetaHuman integration. We will continue refining the experience based on your feedback from this update.

Foreign Investment in Entertainment and Gaming is Under Scrutiny as Probe Into Jared Kushner’s Saudi ties Unfolds, Setting the Wider Context for the Ongoing EA Buyout.
The United States House Judiciary Committee, a group of lawmakers who review legal and oversight issues, has opened an investigation into Jared Kushner’s financial links to Saudi Arabia. The news has piqued attention across entertainment and games, as Saudi funding has become a familiar part of the industry in recent years, notably the EA buyout. Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) now holds sizable stakes in several major publishers, and its role in the sector is under examination. The EA buyout sits in the middle of this, with players and analysts worried about the potential impact if a group of investment firms ends up owning some of the biggest names in gaming, including EA and, in turn, Maxis.

Concerns Raised in the Latest Letter
Representative Jamie Raskin has also written to the US House Judiciary Committee to outline why he believes Jared Kushner’s financial ties to Saudi Arabia need closer review. His letter sets out the concerns behind the new inquiry and explains why the committee should look at how these investments were made. It gives a clearer picture of what lawmakers want to understand as the investigation moves ahead.
Mr. Kushner’s investment firm, Affinity Partners, has amassed approximately $6.16 billion in assets under management—including $1.2 billion in the past year alone—with an extraordinary 99 percent of its funding derived from foreign nationals. These include sovereign wealth funds operated by the governments of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar. At the same time, Mr. Kushner has assumed a central role in sensitive geopolitical negotiations across the Middle East and beyond.
Despite explicit public assurances that he would avoid both government service and fundraising during President Trump’s second term, Mr. Kushner has done precisely the opposite. He has inserted himself into the world’s most volatile global conflicts as one of the United States’ chief negotiators all while deepening his financial reliance on, and entanglement with, foreign governments.
Jared Kushner’s Business Interests
Jared Kushner, husband of President Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump, founded his investment firm, Affinity Partners, after working as a senior advisor during the first Trump term. One of the firm’s largest investors is the Saudi Arabian PIF, a sovereign fund led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Other Gulf nations, such as Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, have also invested.

In recent months, Jared Kushner has taken on the role of peace envoy, looking to settle conflicts between Israel and Hamas forces, Russia and Ukraine, and the United States and Iran. Both Israel and Gulf nations (involved in the ongoing illegal war) have sizable investments in Affinity Partners, with analysts arguing that all negotiations are for business rather than peace.
How This Fits Into the EA Buyout
The EA Buyout is unfolding at the same time that questions about outside investment in gaming get louder. Several firms are now looking to take control of EA, and the outcome could affect how studios, such as Maxis, operate in the coming years post-buyout. Earlier this week, creators Lilsimsie and Zefrine hosted a livestream with US Representative Maxwell Frost to raise awareness of the issues studios could face due to the EA buyout and to bring attention to the Players Alliance petition. You can find out more about the petition below.
The game’s exit strategy out of the Early Access phase also includes the PS5 version release.
For those who have been wondering what’s been going on with InZOI PS5 versions we’ve got some new details in an interview with GamesRadar from Kjun – the boss and lead game director of InZOI. First of all – it’s in main priority right now…along with the 1.0 launch of InZOI.
The 1.0 launch means that InZOI is officially planning to exit its Early Access phase, which started last year with the first Early Access launch on March 28th, 2025. “Kim says there are no plans for more expansions right now, with the focus being solely on the 1.0 launch and PS5 version of the game.”
InZOI had 2 years to develop an “exit” strategy and think of its final features before planning a final release now slated for early 2027.
We’re speculating on this one, but it could be possible that InZOI will launch on Playstation 5 after the game exits its Early Access phase and launches as version 1.0. From the sounds of it there’s still a lot of work to be done before the game is ready for Playstation, but testing InZOI on Playstation as part of its Early Access launch phase could be a possibility to keep in mind too.
Find out more in this exclusive interview with GamesRadar:
Looking ahead to InZoi’s second year, which is meant to culminate in its official 1.0 release, there’s still a lot of work to be done. “This year, the goal is to complete careers and school so that one person’s life can be enjoyed in full inside the game,” Kim says, affirming that the InZoi team is still committed to building out the foundations of basic gameplay.
Other additions, including prisons, vehicles, and a karma system, are on InZoi’s release schedule too. The team plans to ramp up its user-generated content (UGC) features to help make a dent in a list of roughly 200,000 player requests, which Kim admits he wouldn’t be able to work through even if he spent the rest of his life working on InZoi.
The main addition for this UGC push is Canvastown, an expansion to the existing social media-like Canvas system that allows players to upload custom save files or craft specific experiences using a vibe-coding generative AI system for other players to try. Overall, Canvastown has been designed to help players get to the fun faster, a goal which Kim says was inspired by surfing YouTube and being repeatedly told by his nephew that becoming a criminal in InZoi by stealing things was taking too long.
Canvastown will also be joined by enhanced support for mods and even optional multiplayer, though this will be tested in phases. Altogether, Kim says that he’s “a bit intimidated” and “afraid of how players will receive [Canvastown]”. But he ultimately believes that building a robust modding system is important for the health of InZoi too.
Speaking of InZoi’s long-term health, I wondered whether Kim saw his life-sim ever getting the same absurdly large and pricey backlog of DLCs as The Sims 4, which currently has around $1,300 dollars’ worth of add-ons on the Steam store. Aside from the resort-focused Island Getaway DLC, Kim says there are no plans for more expansions right now, with the focus being solely on the 1.0 launch and PS5 version of the game.
He doesn’t rule out a change of direction from those above at Krafton, but Kim does jokingly wonder why InZoi Studio should have to pump out premium expansions. “InZoi is making a lot of money already, PUBG is making a lot of money,” he says. “So, I always think ‘why do I have to contribute to it?'”
With InZoi feeling more like a sandbox with each update, baking all these UGC features into the game this early feels like a good way to set it apart in the life-sim bubble before the 1.0 launch. Offloading development to fans in early access seems cheeky but given how ambitious InZoi is and how challenging it is to develop, I can hardly blame the team.
InZOI is currently planning its next big update release, focusing around the School experience – among many other features and improvements that get added with each game update.
What are your thoughts on InZOI getting a full release early next year? Will the team succeed in delivering the first Life Sim competitor?
