Lyndsay Pearson, General Manager for The Sims has stated that we’ll be getting all of the new items shown in The Sims 4’s brand new Box Art render in the upcoming update for The Sims 4! The items and hairstyles that are brand new are expected to show up with July 16th’s Update.
You’ll notice that the Sims that we’ve put on the box actually have a few new looks. These styles will be coming into your Base Game in an update so you will get access to all of these Sims in Create A Sim and The Gallery and you’ll get to know their stories!

I don’t think that it’s just for the base game, I think that they used clothes and other interactions in the cover to attract more customers I presume?
No they couldn’t do that as people would of payed for packs for no reason
be cool if they added more facial hairs too, something wild.
Beards and mustaches are hard to do, they said. And why do 1 mustache when you could do 5 hairstyles instead and spend the same amount of time and money?

apparently island living comes out for xbox on july 16th. does this update also release it or are there 2 seperate updates??

They might do it when there’s another pack that’s family related because I do want babies to no longer be objects. Some pregnancy options you can likely find included in some current mods though such as increasing the lengths etc.
why do they say brand new, not brand new just decor from the town. thats not new items.
Wish they would make it more like the older sims where the people you dont play would live on there own like get married have kids not just die out and be replaced if you don’t make them have have family’s and to be able to go next door without traveling and to send someone off without having to go with them while you play a different member
MC Command Center is really good for that, if you play with mods. Even if you don’t usually, if you’re a pc user I’d really recommend it. It’s the only mod I consistently use and it really makes a difference. 🙂

Only PC and Mac get the new update but console gets the island living update tomorrow.

what exactly does the new update include? I’m a new simmer for the sims 4. I’ve been using the sims 3 for a very long time but finnaly made the jump so I probably won’t notice the updates that much 😀

There are literally many “new” cas items now that were ripped from different packs and added to the base game. I just checked it myself. This annoys me to no end.
The girl’s blond hair, her beanie, the guy’s tanktop in the back and even the girl’s jacket and hairstyle in the front left. They are all from different packs.

I’ve been trying to update my sims game all day and it won’t go past 70% update it keeps saying error. What could I do to fix it?
Ok so my daughters and I were excited about the update with the new look and new content and the story. Well we have the console and it was a joke. We didn’t get any of that through the update. What a joke. All this hype and only PC users get full benefits and console users get diddly squat. What a effing joke. Thank you sims and EA. Wow.
