Overlapping Festivals and Food Stalls Glitch
EA has acknowledged a Sims 4 Glitch where certain festivals from Expansion Pack would overlap and not spawn properly in the designated neighborhood. Leading to usability issues with festival objects, food stalls and more.
Almost eight hundred people reported this issue to EA Help. The Sims Direct Team acknowledged this issue, saying that they’re working to resolve it in one of the future Sims 4 Patches. Unfortunately, this issue won’t be fixed in today’s Sims 4 Patch,.
Our team is currently investigating the issue regarding overlapping festivals & festival objects merging with other items.
Thanks for your reports on this; we’re aiming to provide a fix in a future patch & appreciate your patience while we work towards a solution.
The Windows Patch makes the game compatible for newer systems!
It’s been a while since we talked about everyone’s favorite game from 2009 – The Sims 3. To everyone’s surprise, the game has been updated to a newer version on January 13th, 2025 for Windows operating systems. Almost ten years after its previous update!
The newest version of The Sims 3 delivers performance and launch fixes for newer processors, where the game was unable to launch if you were running it on a more updated PC build of your Windows operating system.
The Sims Team didn’t release any official Patch Notes for The Sims 3’s latest update as of now. But we do have an insightful piece of information about what this patch entails from EA Help member puzzlezaddict. Take a look:
EA released a very minor patch for Sims 3 today, only for the EA App version and Windows. The new version number is 1.69.47.024017.
This patch fixes the Alder Lake issue, where the game wouldn’t start correctly on certain newer, higher-end Intel processors. It makes no other changes.
If you get the activation window, simply click Exit and launch the game again. It should work this time around.
This update is currently only available for The Sims 3 players who play the game through the EA App. The update hasn’t been released as of now on Steam.,

Electronic Arts has announced today that they’ll be doing a special Behind The Sims video release on January 14th, 2025. This special pre-recorded episode will cover a future roadmap for The Sims 4 releases, a potential new look into the developments of Project Rene and more!

Behind The Sims 2025: What to Expect
The Sims Team is expected to cover multiple product releases during their next Behind The Sims Episode. Based from previous announcements and news from official EA investor presentations, we’re almost certain that new technology and features will be shown.
AI features have been announced to come to The Sims 4 soon, all under the umbrella of The Sims Hub. Which will be a new central station for making various purchases, creations and more for The Sims 4, The Sims Town Stories Mobile Game and Project Rene.
Speaking of The Sims Town Stories, we got a special first look a couple of months ago to EA’s third mobile game release for The Sims. This time focusing on populating the town with Sims and telling their stories.
For The Sims: Project Rene we can expect further developments into this co-op experience and how the game’s been progressing so far.
Looking at the episode teaser, we might also get a first look into the next Sims 4 Expansion Pack. That’s just our speculation for now based on the crown illustration, which could be matching to the Expansion Pack idea EA suggested a couple of months ago in their official survey.
Also, is it time that we finally find out what The Sims Movie could actually be about? Time will tell!

Expect visual changes to The Sims 4 Loading Screens very soon!
The Sims 4 Loading Screens, and other user interface elements in general, have gone through a long journey of development and updates since the original release in 2014.
The game’s loading screen occurs when you go travelling between different worlds and neighborhoods, loading a new lot or opening a new game mode. Compared to its 2009 predecessor, there’s more visits to the Loading Screen menu than ever. Which is why the evolution of this screen went under many revamps.
The Sims 4 Loading Screens in 2014 and 2016
The Sims 4 Loading Screens were later updated again with The Sims 4’s Rebrand in 2019, adding a more pleasant darker background and a vibrant spinning plumbob. Which lasted for 5 years and soon will be changed with a new one…
Refreshed The Sims 4 Loading Screnes
The Sims 4 Loading Screens are getting a complete refresh according to the game file discoveries found in the latest Sims 4 Patch files. Thanks to a datamine discovery from @Simmattically, we now know what the new Loading Screens are going to look like.
Base Game The Sims 4 Loading Screens
The new essential Loading Screen experience will have different footage and screenshots display on the screen, taking over the majority of the Loading Screen. The Game Tips are now located at the bottom, with a spinning plumbob now in the bottom right corner.
The Sims 4 Packs and DLC Loading Screens
The true motive behind The Sims 4 Loading Screens refresh gets revealed with Screenshots and Logos from The Sims 4 Packs and DLC releases. Soon your game will start advertising Expansions, Game and Stuff Packs along with the new Kits as you wait for your game to load. Not dependant whatsoever on whether you own that DLC set or not.
The screen above is purely illustrative to match the aesthetics of the new planned Sims 4 DLC Loading Screens. Which will rotate for all players soon.
The good old days were similar though!
This isn’t the first time that EA has approached to completely change their loading screens for a Sims game. Back in 2013, The Sims 3 had its own Loading Screens refreshed with a complete DLC interactive loading screen. Which gave you satisfaction points based on finding features and items on the screen!
The loading screen is designed to function in a similar way in The Sims 4, hence why the comparison.
The new Sims 4 Loading Screens are expected to launch to the game soon. With the release date still unknown for the time being.
