Ghost Overlay Toggle
There’s a new Toggle Ghost Overlay interface feature available in Create A Sim and Create A Pet. This feature lets you toggle between Ghost Forms and normal Sim previews to prevent additional distraction while making a Ghost.
Create Ghost Pets
The Sims 4 Ghosts Update added something extra for the owners of Cats & Dogs and Horse Ranch Expansion Packs. If you have either of these two Expansion Packs installed you’ll be able to apply a Ghost form to your pet instantly from Create A Pet.
You can only create Ghost Pets for the Elder life age. This applies to Cats, Dogs and Horses.
New Interaction for The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs
If you have The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs Expansion installed, you’ll be able to use a brand new interaction between Sims and Cats and Dogs. The “Ask to Fetch Gift from the Netherwold” interaction will send off your Pets to the world to bring back a gift.
It usually takes a couple of seconds before they’re back from the Netherworld with a treat for you in the inventory.
New Ghost Needs
The Sims 4 Ghosts Update brings new names to Ghost Needs, including:
- Goo Waste – Bladder
- Spooky Diversions – Fun
- Ethereal Sustenance – Hunger
- Ethereal Bonding – Social
- Otherworldly Slumber – Sleep
- Apparition Cleansing – Hygiene
The changes to these Needs are only text based and do not change any gameplay. The way your Sims 4 Ghosts level up their needs may differ in the Life & Death Expansion.
Gravestone and Urn Picker
You can now customize any gravestone or urn in The Sims 4. Simply click on a Gravestone / Urn of your choice and select “Display…” interaction. From there you’ll be able to pick different variations, including Occult gravestones.
This selection of gravestones and urns is expected to be expanded with the upcoming addition of The Sims 4 Life & Death.
Becoming a Ghost Instantly
The choice is now yours to make between becoming a fully playable Ghost or sending your Ghost Sim to lie autonomously and pop out from time to time.
This new update to how you trigger playable The Sims 4 Ghosts makes it easier to newer lose your Sim again. Especially with the concept of rebirth coming in Life & Death Expansion.
- Become a Playable Ghost – Remain a playable Ghost. This Sim will stay in the Household and continue to be playable as a Ghostly presence in the current Household.
- Become a Freeroaming Ghost – This Sim becomes a Ghostly presence around the Household and in the World. They will no longer be playable.
Ghost Graves in Inventory
By becoming a Ghost, your Sims will now always have their Tombstone or Urn ready in their personal Sim inventory.
Interactive Reaction to Death
Sims can now interact to another Sim while they’re dying! As another Sim is having a vicious killer effect, click on them to select several reactions that your Sims want to express while they’re witnessing death.
These reactions are dependant on your Sim’s relationship with a dying Sim, as well as their emotional state before witnessing the death. The new interactions include:
- Yell Angrily
- Awkwardly View
- Confusion
- Disgusted
- Sniffle Cry
- Stoic Face
