Expect visual changes to The Sims 4 Loading Screens very soon!
The Sims 4 Loading Screens, and other user interface elements in general, have gone through a long journey of development and updates since the original release in 2014.
The game’s loading screen occurs when you go travelling between different worlds and neighborhoods, loading a new lot or opening a new game mode. Compared to its 2009 predecessor, there’s more visits to the Loading Screen menu than ever. Which is why the evolution of this screen went under many revamps.
The Sims 4 Loading Screens were later updated again with The Sims 4’s Rebrand in 2019, adding a more pleasant darker background and a vibrant spinning plumbob. Which lasted for 5 years and soon will be changed with a new one…

The new essential Loading Screen experience will have different footage and screenshots display on the screen, taking over the majority of the Loading Screen. The Game Tips are now located at the bottom, with a spinning plumbob now in the bottom right corner.
The Sims 4 Packs and DLC Loading Screens
The true motive behind The Sims 4 Loading Screens refresh gets revealed with Screenshots and Logos from The Sims 4 Packs and DLC releases. Soon your game will start advertising Expansions, Game and Stuff Packs along with the new Kits as you wait for your game to load. Not dependant whatsoever on whether you own that DLC set or not.
The screen above is purely illustrative to match the aesthetics of the new planned Sims 4 DLC Loading Screens. Which will rotate for all players soon.
The good old days were similar though!
This isn’t the first time that EA has approached to completely change their loading screens for a Sims game. Back in 2013, The Sims 3 had its own Loading Screens refreshed with a complete DLC interactive loading screen. Which gave you satisfaction points based on finding features and items on the screen!
The loading screen is designed to function in a similar way in The Sims 4, hence why the comparison.
The new Sims 4 Loading Screens are expected to launch to the game soon. With the release date still unknown for the time being.
