Would have been nice if we could have chosen more than one option. I want the color wheel back, more complex relationships and the open world back.

There should be Open Neighborhood, Open World was a bit much

This is exactly what I want. I think this is a good middle ground that can be used by people with higher end and lower end computer systems because while some players want open worlds their computers may not be able to handle it especially if they play with mods. I’m fine either way but I know EA would like to get as many players possible which includes those who don’t have gaming computers. I also wished they would’ve done apartments like they did dorms so we didn’t have loading screens.

Yeah, and we don’t most of the time need any interaction with sims who live in the next mountain. We only need the neighborhood interactions to make it feel less isolated. It is the perfect middle ground. We can still have cars and stuff with that.

Open world wasn’t a bit much, rushed, unfinished worlds lead to lag. Many open world games exist, without lag, it’s the developers fault.

I’m confused. From what I know, there is no game like TS3 yet where they have to make 10+ worlds in a decade with in-depth functionality of one lot or multiple lots and where most objects are functional, unique, and movable. Not to mention the animations for sims interactions. That’s a lot of detailed work. Functionality in other OWs are usually in one place and immovable, same skin/mesh. The Sims 3 OW concept is too unique to be comparable to other OWs.

Give me more Sims life milestones! And more hobbies and suchlike for all ages. And you’d know what I’d REALLY like to see in Sims 5? A combination of the point build and trait-based personality systems — I think that would be the best way to get unique Sims. Bring back all the stuff that could be expressed on a scale, then add on some of the traits we’ve gotten in the past two generations (like, you build up how neat, outgoing, playful, etc., they are, then pick stuff like if they love dogs or hate kids or whatever). Add in a simple attraction system and preferences, and there you go!

I hate choices, I want several of these things.

-Since the Sims1, it was possible to have whatever colours I wanted, back when basic mods, like recolouring items and making walls and floors, did not break during updates. A colour wheel was the next step, just need to make it work, especially since designers have not been designing with existing items in mind: Furniture and trim woods and paint should have the option of matching outside of specific sets!

-The next phase from sims 2 to sims 3 was open worlds, this was BIG! Some complained worlds were too large, well that is an easy fix. At a bare minimum though, one should be able to walk out of one’s home and into another person’s home without need for a loading screen.

– Life events are good, complex sims are good… also, a little challenge. It seems there are no meaningful repercussions for anything, opt in and opt out stuff would allow people to play how they want, some of us want little challenge or some may wish a lot… mix this in with life events and sim development (growth, careers, school etc.) and it would be a far more interesting game.

– Not mentioned above: cars, I still remember the teaser for sims 4 and was hopeful for boats and trams, instead we didn’t only not get those, but we lost cars and any reason to use the since added bicycles and boats. We don’t even have carpool cars or taxis come by any more, it just gets more and more unrealistic and well, taking away a chunk of something people actually enjoyed making a part of their game, even before we actually got to use them (pre-Sims3)

– Create a world is something people keep asking for, this… since a version of this was first introduced into the game. I’d be okay with a limited version of this.

-Another not mentioned item: Businesses.
Yes, we have them, and had them for a while in the franchise. I would like to see these improve rather than get simplified. And, learning from a few examples, yes, it is important to have them function, such as sims visiting, and working in, restaurants like civilized people.
This also brings up multiple function lots. It would be absolutely fab. if creators can find a way to have lots function for at least two things at the same time, such as having a home business… especially for having a home business! This would allow someone to say, live above their store, or have a daycare in their home, things people can do in real life.

Different lot types on one. I want to run my business at home.

Yes I want that to!! It was a feature in the Sims 2 and everyone loves it, open for business is still praised as one of the best Sims expansion packs to ever be created! It should have been a thing in the sims 4, there is a mod that lets you kinda do it but we still should be able to do it without mods. It should definitely be a thing in the Sims 5.

I want a combination of stuff from Sims 2 & Sims 3. But keep the look of the sims in sims 4.

Yes exactly! That’s what I’ve been saying!

Ea needs to take the best from all their Sims games and combine them to make the one perfect game we all have wanted for so long now.

Combining the trait and point build and lifestyle systems from the Sims 2, 3 and 4 would be a great start, they could keep the small worlds that we can travel between freely from Sims 4 but add open world to each of them to make a smaller more playable version of the open world we got in Sims 3.

A rudimentary version of the quest system from the Sims medieval combined with the scenarios from the Sims 4 would add a fun optional
challenge/story part to the game for simmers who want that.

So many things can be taken from previous games and combined with other things to make new things that all sound fun, if done right.

I also don’t want to pour much more money into a game that is almost 10 years old and still not finished :/

I think they need to go back and refresh packs before calling it quits especially packs like Dine Out and Island Living.

You’re absolutely right!!

The Sims 4 will always be a game that simmers will love and return to even after the new game eventually comes out, just like the Sims 3 and the sims 2, people who started playing the Sims with those games still play them to this day despite also playing the Sims 4. The Sims 4 isn’t on par with the Sims 3 in terms of “completion” and it needs to get there before a Sims 5 gets released for sure.

Not to say that the Sims 3 is perfect because it definitely isn’t, it does have bugs and sometimes it crashes and sure some low end pcs can’t run it most of the time, but much of the Sims 4 content is much more buggy and unfinished, many packs need to be fixed and polished, like dine out and my wedding story and get to work and dream home decorator, just to name a few.

My wish for Sims 5 is that you can migrate everything you create in Sims 4 to new Sims 5.

I just want generations again…

Also it would be super cool if the Sims team looked at mcc and nraas and implemented some story progression features from those mods because they have become such integral mods for alot of simmers, and I know they tried something similar with neighborhood stories but it’s far to simple and just doesn’t match up to the mods which are both extremely extensive, and almost too complex sometimes.

And also yeah the Sims 4 is very much not finished and is still very buggy, we can wish all we want for the perfect Sims game out of the Sims 5 but its actually the last thing we need right now. It’s disappointing that the Sims 4 still feels unfinished after so many years, and it would normally be time for a new game by now, but it would be even more disappointing in my opinion, if we left the Sims 4 where it is now. It doesn’t seem right to move on yet when the current game can still be so much better.

I want all of these, though instead of open world open neighborhoods would be better imo. So like how we have neighborhoods in TS4 but you can freely visit the other lots without having to sit through a load screen. Fully open world can be kinda overwhelming and annoying sometimes because it takes up so much time with just travelling.

Oh man, I really preferred sims 2 memory system. All the little things from sims 2, the personalities especially is what I want the most.

unpopular opinion, but I hate how the worlds aren’t separate in the sims 4. It makes vacationing and rental homes completely pointless. like why would i rent a home in mt. komorebi if it only takes 2 seconds to travel there? I would love an open world but organized like sims 2 with optional add-on neighborhoods like downtown and shopping districts.

Sims 3 world with Sims 4 character things. I miss being able to zoom out my map, pick a building, and head there without having to travel via a slow loading screen. Rabbit hole diners, theaters, and similar were always great to go to this way.

It’s honestly hard for me to pick just one choice, because I want all of them, except multiplayer. I understand people who want it, but in game like Sims, it’s not for me. I want to be director of my Sims’ lives. I don’t want my Sims’ lives to be directed by other people’s Sims. Plus, multiplayer would surely mean limitations, if not total ban, for modding and that’s definitely something I don’t want to see. This may be different for console players or those who don’t use mods, but for me, that would be big problem.
