SimGuruGraham has shared some valuable information about the upcoming The Sims 4 Eco Living Stuff Pack. Beside sharing a rough concept art piece of the washing machine / dryer, he also revealed which gameplay objects will make their debut in this pack, as well as which didn’t make the cut.
Washer/Dryer concept art that we reviewed in today’s IR meeting. This sketch will provide the basic idea for our modeler to work from. pic.twitter.com/omTYuFdu9Z

Because we’re modeling these objects internally, we don’t have to render the sketch as thoroughly as when we send art to external partners.

Since Implementation Review meetings are to assess how pre-pro work impacts each discipline, we made a few tweaks to the concept seen here.

Notably, both doors will have glass & open in the same direction, the buttons will be identical, and the display will have wet/dry symbols.

I’m also happy to share that you’ll have the option to stack the dryer on top of the washing machine, for extra space saving configurations.

Finally, after finishing our design meetings and scoping the pack, it was clear that we wouldn’t have time to add functional ironing boards.

That said, all of the objects you voted for – Washers, Dryers, Hampers, Clotheslines, and Wash Tubs will be included in the community SP.

And once again, the sims team lets us down by not giving us new stuff like ironing! Great 🙂

I’m quite excited cause the washer and dryer can stack. Makes it much easier to use in apartments.

And once again, a Sims fan fails to appreciate that they can’t have every feature they can possibly think up in a $10 stuff pack. We’re getting FIVE new gameplay objects. That’s unprecedented. The Sims 4 team has been very good to its fans. ☺️

^Thank you for this comment. People are so ungrateful. I love this pack, and glad to have participated in it. 🙂

But they are giving us new stuff. I’ve been playing since Sims 2 and I dont ever remember being able to actually wash and dry my sims clothes. Youre dissing them for not doing one little thing

They can’t do everything! Jesus, you guys are so greedy. He explained, they don’t have enough time. You lucky they haven’t stopped releasing packs altogether. You might never have pets in sims again…..
I am SO excited for the pack! Thanks for all the hard work! =D
