How to resize objects on The Sims 4 Xbox One / PS4

One of the things that The Sims Team didn’t cover that much in The Sims 4 for Xbox One / PS4 is how to resize objects in build mode.

To resize an object first you need to enter Build Mode. Then, select an object you want to resize and press L2 + R2 (PS4) / LT + RT (Xbox One) and use your D-pad (up and down buttons) to make objects bigger or smaller.

You can really go crazy with this and make objects cover up the entire lot!

How to resize objects on The Sims 4 Xbox One / PS4

Want to bring back the object to its original size or make it smaller than it actually is? Select the object that you resized and use the same tricks while pressing the D-pad down to make it smaller.

In xbox1 it makes the object go up and down, which was the next thing I was going to ask about.

It didn’t work because you’re actually supposed to click on the object you bought and then hold lt and rt at the same time or l2 and r2 at the same time while using the right button on the d-pad to make it larger or using the left button to make it smaller. Hope that helped

Just so you know, on Xbox its left on the d-pad to shrink and right to enlarge an item while holding down the LT+RT triggers

Ok I use the PS4 and some of the instructions here didn’t work so I’ll show you what I did which made it worked. So basically I first buy the item and place it down. After that, I click the item again and later hold the L2 and R2 buttons. Remember to hold the O, L2, and R2 buttons. Lastly, while still holding the 3 buttons down, you click the left or right buttons on the d-pad, depending on whether you want to increase or decrease the size. Click the right arrow if you want to increase and the left arrow if you want to increase. Just click, don’t hold the arrow buttons. Hopefully this will work for you like it did for me!

Ok, so how to actually do is to press left trigger and the right trigger but don’t hold once you did that exit the search bar it brings up and then you can use the up and down buttons on the d-pad while holding an object to size it up. (Only for Xbox one, but I bet with this you can figure it out with PS4 too)

Does not work at all on PS4. Holding down L2 and R2 and pressing ⬆ or ⬇ switches the floor level and ➡ just tilts the camera down so you’re literally looking down from the sky and ⬅ changes how much of the walls are visible. We’re limited to only pressing R2 to increase object’s size 4 times before it cycles back to its original size. It’s either most likely a cheat we don’t know about, or, if it did exist, was patched out of the console version.

It actually does for for me. I’m running base game though. It’s possible one of the DLCs is the reason you cannot do it. But for me it was L2+R2 held and dpad-left = decrease size or dpad-right = increase size.

On the PS4, you hold R2 and L2 at the same time while holding an object in build mode to enlarge and shrink. Press the left and right and right buttons on the d-pad to shrink and enlarge respectively. Pressing up and down will move the object up and down if “bb.moveobjects on” is enabled in cheats.
