The Sims 4 Seasons: SimGuru Q&A

SimGurus are currently answering some questions on Twitter regarding The Sims 4 Seasons Expansion Pack.

Although this isn’t a full SimGuru Q&A that we usually get right after a pack announcement, we do have some minor information shared by SimGurus on Twitter. SimGuruKate confirmed that  we can expect more information on the road to the release of Seasons.

We’ll make sure to update this post with new tweets as (and if) they surface so make sure you check this post regularly for new information!

No Q&A planned right now. We like to keep some of the mystery live. But much will be revealed in time.

A couple questions I can answer right now! @SimGuruGrant gave me great insight so send thanks his way.

1. There will be no new world because we wanted to focus entirely on making the existing worlds (and all their neighborhoods), as gorgeous as possible for all four seasons.

2. Yes, the new kiddie pools can be used by toddlers. In fact this was the primary reason for creating this wonderful object!

Okay so I deeply analised the glass roof. And it appears to me that it is a new build mode feature, where you can somehow have actual roofing elements that are glass. Previously existing saves will be prompted to pick a season once you first load them up. After that they'll go through the seasonal cycle just like saves made after Seasons.

Q. Will there be new foods/recipes?

I can't talk about snow right now, but you'll be able to change season length in options. When you start a new game or load up an existing non-Seasons save, you'll be able to pick a season to start in. I know this isn't satisfactory, but we'll be able to talk more in the future.

This time around we're not using discrete temperatures (F vs. C squabbles), but it can get cold enough for blizzards and hot enough for heatwaves. As for individual neighborhood weathers, that's something for simmers to find out once they start playing 🙂

You can pick a starting season, but the seasons will follow the same cycle (spring-summer-fall-winter-spring). However, the handy Weather Controller object might let you change that…🔧
