The Sims 4: Where To Find CC And Why I Recommend Tumblr

Sul Sul,

Today I will be talking about custom content for The Sims 4 and where to find it. I’ll also go over why Tumblr is useful for cc shopping too.

One of the most frequently asked questions in the Sims community amongst simmers is “Where do you get your cc from?” or “Where can I find… (WCIF)”

Almost half of the replies can either be answered by saying, “On Google images, Tumblr and The Sims Resource.” Up until recently, one of the most popular and reliable sites to use for finding custom content was LanaCCFinds, there are numerous different categories for whatever your cc needs, however, due to too many tumblr complications, the blog has been retired.

So, unfortunately they no longer update their website which has caused many simmers to feel lost and unsure about to where they can get cc from.

The good news is there are still a lot of great tumblr blogs and non-tumblr sites where trusted creators upload their custom content.

Here is a list of a few CC Finds Sites that I know of:

(of course, there are many more out there)

If I missed your favorite cc finds blog, drop it in the comments.

Let’s talk about Tumblr

Tumblr can be used with or without having an account. If you don’t have a Tumblr account I would highly recommend getting one. It’s a great platform to discover new simmers and creators. You can follow all your favorite creators and see what’s new and nearly all of these CC finds sites are on Tumblr, so you’ll always be updated with the latest content.

If you don’t have time to download immediately, you can like or reblog posts to come back to. It’s really simple and easy to use and honestly one of the best platforms for discovering all kinds of cc, be it alpha, maxis match, build/buy. Anything!

The best tags to use for searching new custom content on tumblr are:

#ts4cc #ts4ccmm #s4cc #s4mmcc #sims 4 cc #s4ccmm

And anything similar (yes you can put spaces in-between hashtags on tumblr and it still works)

That covers the basics. If you have any questions regarding using tumblr or would like to know more, don’t forget to leave a comment below and let me know! You can find me on tumblr here –Simanoid.

Until next time, Simmers.

About the author

Sul Sul, I am Cay, aka Simanoid. I’m a 24 year old aspiring music artist who has been obsessed with Sims since the first installment of the game franchise. I’ve always loved every aspect of the game; including those pesky technical difficulties that cause game problems. It’s a challenge and learning experience so yeah, that can be fun too… and frustrating! Oh! Did I mention I’m a bit of a CC addict? XD

  • You’re awesome, thanks! Does any of these sites also have furniture or do you have a recommendation for a specific CC furniture site?

  • Simsdom tries too hard to try to get ad revenue out of me and trying to get money out of hardworking creators who never even uploaded their cc there in the first place, no matter how many times they try to say that part of the proceeds goes to the creators. I especially don’t trust any paywalls that could give my PC a virus either, so no thanks.

    • I know how you feel. I am still very skeptical about Simsdom. I would say it’s a use-at-your-own-risk kind of website. Sometimes it’s the only site in which I can find cc I am looking for :(

  • hey my origin id, and yt channel is TheWitchySimmer or my fb page is @ThatWitchyGirl incase someone wants to contact me. but i really need help with bundled content bc i want more cas items and mods but i wont download 10 billion single things and get stuck checking every single time if they work and plus im waiting to see if anyone makes a mod to keep townies from wearing the cc content bc it always look horrible. plus most creators will list the items in cas incorrectly so you find like for example hair in the pants section (just a example) and its fusterating. I would love help and someone to contact me to help me out. im also on discord @SerenaWillow Thanks everyone

  • Why don’t you mention The Sims Resource here? As a creator myself who uploads to TSR (which is then stolen by sims dom) I am surprised to see this left out of the list.

TSR has super strict standards for the quality of the CC they post to their site. They are low poly, tested, and can be trusted not to crash your game. And there are lots of fantastic artists on there.

    • Hey, This article was Tumblr blog focused. I didn’t forget about the mother of all cc platforms. I will speak about it in a future article ;)
