And this game patch was no exception as multiple players reported a Sims 4 Body Distortions Glitch. Saying that their Children Sims are looking “Pregnant” and having weird face and body distortions.

Thankfully, EA has quickly responded to the fiasco – giving both reassurement that they’re working on a hotfix update and a proper workaround solution!

Player Reports on The Glitches

Over 200 players upvoted the newest Sims 4 Body Distortions forum thread. With the first screenshot coming from Elleuneedislove who reports the following:

I removed my mods and cc to see if that made her normal again but it didn’t she looks like she’s pregnant. It even looks like that in CAS

The following screenshot comes from EA Forum member dimharr, who also reports the same issue with Children in Create A Sim, among other things.

I also have adult neck problems. And the bodies of children are changed in abnormal proportion. Toddler faces have also been changed beyond recognition.

Infants and Toddlers also haven’t been spared of The Sims 4 Body Distortions glitch plaguging everyone’s Sims.

In addition to this bug, I also noticed another one in my game. The eyes of toddlers and infants seemed to have become smaller.

Official Statement and Workaround

The official EA Forums community manager EA_Cade has released an official statement regarding the Sims 4 body distortions glitch. Saying that The Sims Team is actively working on addressing this bug in the upcoming update. Until that happens, there’s a workaround that will successfully restore all your Sims’ looks until the patch comes out:

CONVERSATION 2

Hey all,

We have identified the cause of an issue with Child Sims experiencing body distortion, and we are working to release an update which will resolve this issue in existing saves. Child Sims in brand new saves will not be affected by this bug. In the meantime, you can manually restore your Sims by using the following workaround:

  1. Open the cheat window with CTRL+SHIFT+C.  Console folks, you can plug in a USB keyboard to do so.
    1. Type in “testingcheats true” and hit enter.
    2. Type in “CAS.fulleditmode” and hit enter.
  2. Shift click on your Child Sim and select “Modify in CAS” from the pie menu.
  3. In the top left of the screen, change the gender of your Child Sim, and then change it back.
  4. The Sim should be back to normal, click the tick button in the bottom right of the screen to return to Live mode.
  5. To remove cheats, open the cheat window with CTRL+SHIFT+C.
    1. Type in “CAS.fulleditmode false” and hit enter.
    2. Type in “testingcheats false” and hit enter.

Have you encountered The Sims 4 body distortions glitch in your game? If so, let us know how the new workaround works for you and stay tuned for latest updates on The Sims 4!

You know what, I bet this bug relates to the age sliders code that was found. It makes sense to me that with an age slider the Sim instantly ages up or down. As a slider would do i guess. So they would need to program in ways of age differentials. Meaning body parts need to stretch, or become smaller or larger with age. And right now they are still working on this feature so it produces bugs. It feels similar to the bug with missing teeth before get together had a missing tooth game play introduction. Which I don’t know if that was ever confirmed but the correlation there was too specific to ignore. This feels the same, and I might be entirely wrong, but weird body distortations + age slider code being worked on just feels like the bugs make sense somehow.

I think the age sliders will provide automatic skin details as beards grow overtime. They wouldn’t do more than just change the opacity of the wrinkles and skin marks gradually.

Boycott The Sims; the product is buggy, built on spaghetti code, and designed for toddlers, with corners cut everywhere. For instance, the toddler animation when a grown-up holds them in their arms, where they randomly teleport, or when Sims enter the cake and then randomly fade out, really frustrates me. I hate it; it pulls me out of the immersion.

Honestly? Fair. The Sims 4 is kind of a piece of crap. I mean that with love! I haven’t played in months and every time I check in to see if they’ve fixed the bugs that are preventing me from playing my TEN-YEAR-OLD SAVE (I am INVESTED in these characters, Maxis!) it turns out there’s yet another baffling, widespread bug that should have never escaped QA.

It’s one of EA’s biggest earners and they consistently give it an absolute shoestring budget, and instead spend it on reality shows nobody wanted and D-list celebrity endorsements we don’t need.

You’ve made FIVE BILLION DOLLARS! Spend some of that on your dev team!

I’ve had teenagers aging up looking pregnant, and YA through to elders randomly appearing pregnant as well, for around two months so this glitch is only new to me regarding the age .

This isn’t completely new. Grimborn teens get their bodies distorted EVERY TIME. Even when you fix it in CAS, They would again change back to being distorted after long loading screens. Their faces shrink and their bodies get anorexically thin.

It’s insane how long it’s taking them to fix that bug.

ok what about the ones that can’t turn on cheats because it’ll ruin their chances of trophies on console.. if they get that issue on console

The trophies don’t matter and they will randomly trigger even after you’ve already earned them, they’ve been bugged since 2014, do not worry about trophies. You’ll earn them again. Probably twenty times.
