I was recently wishing for more pride stuff to be added to the game, so I feel I manifested this lol. We didn’t even have to wait until pride month!

So on the one hand, I like that there is new stuff that is pride themed. On the other, I wish they’d add more flag swatches to gender identity, made sure the CAS items was for all ages(would be nice for a mini patch to add in temp tats for toddlers and children[and older ofc]) and made sure they gave us a full bed set(so not just single & double but also bunk, toddler, crib and bassinet)

How can I stop this being added to my game!

Dude it’s not that serious….no one is forcing you to use the items just like no one is forcing you to use any items in the game or play the game. This is good for anyone who wants to use these items. They’re free. You’ll be fine.

Actually there are item hiders all over the internet! You cant exactly PREVENT them from being added, but you can have them hidden from your game like it doesnt exist at all! Give content creators a little time and I am sure there will be a slew of hiders for you to select from.

It’s pretty reductive to only accept opinions from people plastered in rainbow merch and to go around with a heavy finger on that negative button. How about instead creating spaces for listening. Why not take things from learning about how to not be a performative ally and be an authentic ally? No where are they being hateful towards a group but you made it about you and inferred that they’re hateful towards LGBTQ+ because they don’t want the stuff in the game. I don’t want the stuff in the game and I’m queer. I find it tacky and reductive. I’m much more than a ridiculous rainbow flag that EA seems to sum up LGBTQ+ people as. This is not cute. There’s a ton of this stuff already in the game. What am I suppose to do? Represent myself as a queer person by being head to toe in rainbows and fill my house in rainbows? Am I a clown on psychedelics? Or am I a person with an identity who shouldn’t be reduced to silly symbology that companies use to fool simple minded people into thinking that they’re conscious of the people who play their games and representation. Please spare me and please develop your personality further than rainbow merch.

If you uninstall your game, no new content will be added! Hope this helps! 🙂

As a gay queer identifying person I find it bizarre for 48 people to be this offended by this. IRL I know a lot of people in my queer circle who wouldn’t be interested in this stuff and don’t automatically identify with things by assumption. As a queer person I can actually sit with someone I have disagreements with and not feel attacked or need to infer that they’re phobic of me. They don’t want it in their game. Big deal… I don’t want things forced upon people either. Especially if it comes along with the assumption that these things even speak to every LGBTQ+ person. Stop. I’m LGBTQ+ and I don’t have rainbow flags and stuff of the sort hanging around my house. I have things that reflect me any my people on a much deeper level than a mass produced symbol.

I don’t think it being an object in buy mode forces people to place it in their Sims’ houses? There are plenty of objects in buy mode which aren’t my style and I don’t feel the need to remove them from the game entirely, it seems a bit odd to do so just for pride stuff

It’s an SDX Drop. It’s not an update. You can not download it. Go to game options.

Tom I understand how you feel. Those who do not want pride themed in their game should be able to turn it off. We can turn off body hair and other things. I will not be using it in my game. I will be using what I have been using. God made the rainbow and it is His. Trust me He is not pleased about all this ungodly living going on in this world. That is why He passes out judgment.

I would really prefer they focused on fixing the many, many bugs the game has. And then continue with new content. Or at least re-release older packs while improving them (like with the Spa Day).

The people who fix bugs are not the people who create free content.

So happy there’s a gay flag now it was so needed and to have more ways of hanging it. I would love a rug, wallpaper and even more options of wall hangings and some ways for it to be implemented into some other objects like in blankets and sofas

We already have one, it was added ages ago when they officially made it easier to make trans sims. I think a lot of people just don’t use this stuff and really don’t look at swatches apparently. Nothing new.

As a gay queer person I’m starting to feel like there’s too much pride stuff…the items are too similar to one another. And not every LGBTQ+ person identifies with the commercial pride symbology. Feels forced. But I won’t deny that there is an audience for this content…

Same, so I agree. But there’s an audience for everything and CAS/decorative build items are the easiest to create, so that’s what EA loves to do

After the new update I lost access to items I went to load in and the game informed me 48 items were not available. One of which is the fish tank from dine out, I own that pack and all others does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Try to repair your game from the EA launcher. First make sure you backup your game and remove mods. Sorry you’ve been having issues with your game, me too. They really need to fix these bugs, they’re piling up and breaking the game.

Someone legit went on a rampage thinking rainbows = more representation and disliked anything remotely suggesting homophobia…about 30 times. 30 people don’t even comment in the comment section… The only gay people I’ve seen who have this type of rainbow stuff on them and in their rooms are also struggling with their autism diagnosis… No ablism but really I’m trans, most of my friends are either gay or trans. We don’t have flags, shirts, socks, etc in pink and blue or rainbows. There’s a type of person who get’s die hard about stuff like this, they’re usually aggressively patriotic. I’m not a patriot so this type of thing is not for me.

These are hideous. This is for rule34, DeviantArt, furry type gays. What about queer POC who are learning to decolonialize themselves? You put native symbols on things that are so tacky. What about that says aboriginal? And people in the comments are “manifesting” this and offended? What side are you on? You’ll go to some big box store and pickup a coaster with a rainbow and feel so proud of yourself. Yep turn that computer on play The Sims 4 and not read a single damn thing about real life. Sheeple

It’s nice to see that EA/Sims 4 is trying to be expressive and diverse…maybe have a community vote of what to add? It could be offensive to some and appropriate for others, but I feel like if anyone is trying to represent a certain community, maybe getting clear insight about the community might help to not offend people. But, i appreciate the effort! Hopefully things get better as the time goes on!

we’ve come a long way from the circus tent reject that was the wedding dress swatches from 2022, and I’m happy, these feel alot more tasteful! The fact it was added outside of pride month makes it even better imo :]
