Like many careers in The Sims 4, The Romance Consultant career has 10 ranks. At rank 8, your Sim has to decide if they would like to play cupid and continue down the Matchmaker career path, or help love heal as they work towards becoming a Relationship Counselor.

Working From Home vs. Going to Work
With the typical five day workweek, The Sims 4 Romantic Consultant career is semi-active, meaning you can choose to send your Sim to work or have them work from home. Choosing to work from home will require your Sim to complete various tasks before the next work day, and is a more interactive experience overall.

Work from home tasks change as your Sim progresses through the Romance Consultant career, and can range from as little as one task a day to up to three tasks. These work from home job responsibilities include Watch Reality Dating TV Channel, Study Modern Love on a Computer, Give Love Advice, Research Forms of Intimacy, and many more.
Sims that choose to go to work may have to make important, career-defining decisions as they take on more clients. Throughout the work day, your Sim may get asked advice regarding date nights out versus a a night on the couch, dressing up in costumes, and more. Choose carefully, or your Sim may nudge a couple towards divorce!

Daily & Promotional Tasks
Sims beginning their journey through the Romance Consultant career path will have daily and promotional tasks that focus on building their Romance skill. Promotional tasks tend to be focused on expanding your Sim’s knowledge while daily tasks focus more on day-to-day Romance Consultant duties.
Your Sim will be required to do promotional tasks such as increasing their Romance and Logic skill levels and Read a Romance Novel.

Daily tasks like Run Emergency Romance Hotline on a Computer Study Modern Love on a Computer will keep your Sim up-to-date in the world of love counseling, and help them move towards a promotion. Your Sim may also be asked to take their consulting skills for a spin by being tasked to Give Advice or Share Love Insights through social interaction.

Any Sim can excel as a Romance Consultant in The Sims 4: Lovestruck, but there are certain personality traits and skills that will help your Sim rise to the top even faster.
Personality traits that inspire interpersonal connections, romance, and friendliness are perfect for aspiring Romance Consultants. These include Lovebug, Romantic, Generous, Loyal, Nosy, and Outgoing. On the other hand, Unflirty and Romantically Reserved Sims could have a harder time succeeding as a Romance Consultant.
