EA CEO Andrew Wilson and EA Entertainment President Laura Miele talk “Exciting Changes” for The Sims 4.
Breaking news come today from the EA Press Room, where EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson and President of EA Entertainment Laura Miele shared, what they believe, are “exciting and essential” updates for The Sims 4.
The latest Game Patch, rolling out later today on PC, Mac and Consoles, is adding a new in-game Donations Feature. Letting you donate the virtual currency “Moola” straight to Electronic Arts! There’s also a new Expiration Meter set for Live Mode, where if players don’t donate Moola to EA in a specific time window their entire Live Mode gets paused until they make a donation. “We only need 500 Moola every 7 days to keep your Live Mode experience flowing!” said Laura Miele, President of EA Entertainment.
You can now find the Donations Progress Bar straight from The Sims 4’s Main Menu. “We accept PayPal, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Klarna and many more payment options” said Andrew Wilson in their EA Press Release.

“Playing The Sims 4 in Live Mode takes up lots of server power that we’ve already allocated to AI game development. Plus, there’s no greater feeling than supporting an indie game development studio!” said Laura with excitement.
We want you to feel like you’re making a valuable contribution. Think of it as a long-term investment for unlocking your imagination” stated Andrew in EA’s press release shortly after arriving in a helicopter.

We tried to ask Andrew what inspired this core change for The Sims 4 to which he replied “I have to fly back to Mar-A-Lago, no time for these silly questions”.
Anyways, here’s the full Press Release from EA:

EA Announces New Donation Features for The Sims 4
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Electronic Arts announces today the introduction of new Donation Features for The Sims 4. EA’s very own Andrew Wilson (Chief Executive Officer) and Laura Miele (President of EA Entertainment) have released a joint statement about exciting and core essential additions to this game.

“I’ve felt this huge hole in my pocket ever since September 29th, 2025. This inspired me to make some great changes for all of our Intellectual Properties within global EA Studios. The Sims Franchise was the easiest pick as they’ve spearheaded new monetization tactics since 2000s, and you’ve never seen a game ask for money this directly before! I know I’m already making extra revenue by replacing our talent with AI but this debt*ehm* hole in my pocket is something I definitely don’t want to cover myself” said Andrew Wilson. “I can’t wait to tell all about this to my friends that I see at Burning Man annually.”

“September 29th, 2025 was the rebirth of our ways of thinking. We had so many cool ideas for The Sims Franchise that we wanted to do before that, but now it’s time to just be brutal and honest with our fans.

We told the developers at Maxis that Margot Robbie is our #1 priority right now. If we don’t make this Sims Movie with Margot Robbie a reality then all my friends at the country club will think I’m lame. So they [Maxis developers] better make some Moola or they’re all getting fired!” said Laura Miele. “I need a Barbenheimer or a Brat Summer for my LinkedIn.”

The latest Sims 4 Donation Features are releasing on April 1st, 2026 across Desktop and Console Platforms. Get the press assets and the full release statement HERE!

Literally speed running bad decisions
Sounds like freakin joke. Disgusting.
All of those EA beggers should focus on improving the game we have, for example mermaids
Because it is a joke…its an April fools joke
Jared Kushner approves this message
I know this is an April fools joke, but given the political climate and everything we go through on a daily basis, this isn’t funny… Sorry to be a joykill.
That’s even an understatement. With the negative responses happening to the marketplace and the game in general, this is just diabolical and misplaced.
If it wasn’t April 1st, I would have actually not been surprised by this.
THIS IS SO GOOD I’m gasping for air LMFAO
This is a very, very misplaced april fools day joke. They’re literally laughing at us in our faces. I tend to see humour even in dark stuff but this is just diabolical and misplaced.
I realize this is a joker, but I hate this Moola trend. Wouldn’t care so much if it wasn’t forced on people and it was only an option. It’s just an unnecessary add-on to buy the next Sim pack. It’s annoying.
Sorta feels like an insult to injury doesn’t it? This was a poorly timed poke…
Did this come to ps5 yet because I don’t see anything on my ps5 about that update
