As per usual, it never takes long for the InZOI developers to release a new video showcasing the work they’re putting in for the next update to engage with the community and receive feedback. After the voiceless High School Update previews we received last week, the next InZOI update is likely to feature the addition of active schooling and some other additions not yet fully confirmed.
InZOI Producer and Director Hyungjun ‘Kjun’ Kim spent the video
Upcoming InZOI Updates: Basement, Car Physics, and First Person!
โ This video was a showcase of what is prepared for the June Update up to this point, but development will continue based on feedback from community.
โ This video also included experimental features being tested. Some will come in the June update, some will come later.
โ Improvements made to the First-Person view feature teased a while back.
โ Changes to the mini-map to utilize it as a GPS and show you the fastest route to a chosen destination.
โ More progress being added for realistic car physics.
โ The ability to throw any held objects is being worked on, expanded upon from the pan slap interaction showcased a few months back.
โ If you’re playing in shoulder view, meaning right behind and slightly looking up at your Zoi, the ceiling will be filled in now.
โ Custom wall textures will be implemented by just dragging images from a local folder to the wall in-game directly.
โ Underground Level/Basement construction for Build Mode is now in-progress.
Hello everyone.
For some reason, I feel especially happy to see you all today.
Our team worked incredibly hard again this week. But when I arrived at the office this morning and checked the latest build, I was reminded that there is still so much left to improve. Lately, there are times when I feel overwhelmed and wonder whether the game Iโm making is truly heading in the right direction. Reading through your feedback from the recent survey reinforced something important for me. Our highest priority is to create clear goals for players to pursue, build interactions and situations that feel natural rather than awkward, and ensure that our various systems and content have enough depth and work together organically. Of course, improving stability and reducing awkwardness remain essential challenges as well. Even so, I think Iโm fortunate. I genuinely love making games. This week, there were moments when looking at the build left me feeling exhausted, but then an idea would suddenly come to mindโsomething that could dramatically improve Zoiโs interactions and conversationsโand before I knew it, Iโd be completely absorbed in development, forgetting about lunch for a while. Still, I believe things will work out because all of you are here with us, and because everyone on the team is giving their best. Working hard doesnโt guarantee that everything will go perfectly. We all have things we cannot do, and we all make mistakes. But as the saying goes, the darkest hour comes before dawn. Who knows? Maybe everything will come together like a movie, and inZOI will become a game loved by even more people around the world. There is one truth about life that I firmly believe in: life is always changing. Even when things are difficult today, better days can arrive tomorrow. Todayโs post ended up sounding a little like a personal reflection. I suppose Iโve become more comfortable talking with all of you on Discord. I still vividly remember the first day I had to write a post here. I couldnโt even log in properly and had to ask a colleague sitting next to me for help. I also remember trying to reply to every individual comment because I wasnโt sure how to respond, only to be amazed by the sheer number of messages coming in. Over time, that naturally evolved into the format I use today. I guess that, too, is something that changed with time. Thank you, everyone.
Iโll see you again next week. Thank you. kju
