Patch Notes
Release 4/17/18 – Version PC 1.42.30.1020 / Mac 1.42.30.1220
Hey Simmers,
We have just a few things to share, so let’s jump right into them.
General Issues
The Get Engaged whim can now be satisfied by choosing to propose.
The engagement however will be satisfied only by the whims of the participants.
Woohoo partners will no longer be chastised for sleeping in the Sims bed after woohoo.
Sims that you know that are mixologists, caterers, or entertainers will now be available to hire for Social Events your Sim chooses to host.
Check Toddler has been checked over and should be more reliable when toddler checking.
We addressed some queue dropping and route fail issues that could occur with the check toddler interaction.
Happy Toddler and Top-Notch Toddler traits now count towards the Most Interesting Sim in the World achievement.
We have removed the female preference for holding toddlers in family portraits.
Sims related to the toddler are now of equal likelihood to carry the toddler in the portrait.
The “Debug” style will no longer be an available style filter in the Build and Create a Sim catalogs.
While there was a movement amongst the design community to expand the notion of art, form, style, and fashion, it was ultimately deemed derivative of the work of Mugatu, and his Derelicte line.
Get to Work
Receiving a citation will no longer cause your Sims arms to waive about uncontrollably.
Get Together
Clubs that use the Play Cards rule, can now expect Sim club members to play cards.
Cats & Dogs
The Split Panel Dresser and The Floatin’ Shelf bookshelf will no longer allow you to place objects floating behind them.
This does not impact the move objects cheat, but in the case of these two objects they had slots for object placement incorrectly floating in space behind them.
We addressed an issue that could cause an Error Code 131 result upon loading a home where a pet had run away. You should no longer see Error Code 131.
Jungle Adventure
Authenticated artifacts will now maintain their authenticated appearance after being placed from My Library.
Romantic Garden
The Don’t Look at Me Monkey Bars has quality score information.
Fun is 7, Motor Skill is plus, and Children are only.
Vintage Glamour
The 16th Century Monte Vista Globe Bar now ALSO has quality score information!
Drink quality is 4, and Mixology Skill is plus.
Laundry Day
DIY Sink and Bai l’Est Galvanized Sink now have hygiene and reliability ratings!
They are 5 and 5, and 5 and 5.
Adding clean clothes to a pile of dirty clothes will no longer prevent the Sims from washing the clothing. And adding dirty clothes to a pile of clean clothes will no longer prevent the Sims from washing the clothing.

Modder thepancake1 has decided to revive his The Sims 4 Multiplayer Project that he initiated 2 years ago. The initial version of the mod had some limitations and the modder decided to step off the project for some time, but he’s finally back with a version of this mod that’s very promising.
At the moment you’ll be able to play with 2 people in real life using The Sims 4 Multiplayer Mod, but the modder has told us that there could be an upgrade in a few days raising the bar for a few more people to join the servers. This means that you’ll be able to interact with other people’s Sims and yes, even chat with them through Sims notifications.
The mod will let you host your own multiplayer event at your desired lot and you’ll be able to invite in multiple, real life people that you want to join your lot with their Sims.
You’ll be able to send your chat message by just clicking on a Sim by a different player and sending your desired message that will later appear in the notifications panel.
You can check out the footage where we took the screenshot from down below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUH_1CfjWHo
The mod is currently still being polished, tested out and expanded, with a release date aiming at sometime in early May.
We’ll make sure to keep you updated on all the latest news about this mod as they arise!

You don’t hear the news about a fanmade series created in a video game join Netflix every day…
Girls In The House is one of Brazil’s most popular Series on the internet. It started off as an interesting series back in November 2014 but several episodes, seasons and spin-off videos later it got acquired by Brazil’s popular TV network – TNT Brazil. Today, the creator of this show Raony Phillips has 1.5 million subscribers and millions of views for almost each episode.
The show is created in The Sims 4 with unique characters and voiceovers in Portugese. You can take a look at the trailer for their 4th Season which is coming April 26th down below:
The fans of this show are really amazed by its production and throughout the years were left wondering why the show wasn’t released on Netflix due to it’s quality and popularity in Brazil (after all, the show has its own book which became a bestseller in Brazil).
Today, the creator of the show released a teaser with a Netflix logo on it, saying that he has some big news to share tomorrow, April 12nd. Considering the fact that the 4th Season is coming in 3 weeks and that Netflix’s involvement is being teased, could this show continue its journey on Netflix? We’ll find out more news tomorrow.

In case you don’t know, The Sims Mobile has released a mini update yesterday, which seems to have address the weird Hot Tub Glitch that was present for the last few days.
However, the update brought a ton of new animation glitches when performing all sorts of risky actions. Those include doing risky actions with other Sims in Relationship events:
…and a few more risky actions that you’ve probably encountered in the game. There’s also an issue in the game where toddlers are completely invisible and you can only interact with them through event tasks.
We’ll let you know once The Sims Mobile addresses these issues!

Trying to find the best mods for The Sims 4 isn’t always easy. They’re usually scattered all over the internet (if you’re not searching on specific websites such as Mod The Sims) – meaning that you’d have to spend plenty of time searching for them on social networks and google. Luckily, there are blogs and places out there that keep up to date with the latest mods and mod fixes.
Here are the best websites that you can rely on finding the latest (and greatest) mods:
Mod The Sims is one of the greatest Sims websites out there that host a huge collection of mods created by the most talented modders out there. Currently there are over 1200 Mods published on that website.
Still, not all of these Mods are functional, but don’t worry – Mod The Sims will warn you that, in case the modder hasn’t been active for some time and/or that they haven’t been updating the Mod for a specific period after a few patches for The Sims 4 you’ll get a warning on that Mod’s page saying that you might not get the promised functionality that could’ve been corrupted with one of the Sims 4 Updates. It’s a great database with plenty of Mods for you to find with dedicated members who upload mods very frequently.
Lana’s CC Finds website is an excellent blog full of categories that you might be interested in. One of those categories include Mods, which comes as very useful considering the fact that not all modders will upload their creations on Mod The Sims or other dedicated modding websites.
Sims 4 Downloads is yet another great collection of Mods created by other folks in the community. It has a nice layout and great tools that’ll help you find the mod that you’re looking for.
This German website features some great mods that will slightly alter your Sims 4 experience. Even though it’s in Deutsch we’ve linked the website to a translated English page so you can find just what you’re looking for.
Do you have any other sources or websites where you get your Sims 4 Mods from? Let us know in the comments!
Custom Content creator @TheKalino has brought new animals to The Sims 4 My First Pet Stuff’s cage. This Stuff Pack originally comes with only 4 types of small animals, but The Kalino has made it possible so that you enjoy in a much bigger variety of caged animals in your game.
Although they all act pretty much the same the recolors of these small animals that were made possible to work with My First Pet Stuff still look amazing. You can also download the Natural Cage Recolors which come in 6 different styles (one of them being created completely out of the cardboard texture).
These can be downloaded by clicking the download button below. To install these all you have to do is extract the .zip content to Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods folder. Make sure you have Mods / CC enabled in your game options. Also, please note that The Sims 4 My First Pet Stuff is required to be installed in order to enjoy these new caged animals.
icemunmun, a talented modder on Mod The Sims has published a new Gameplay Mod, letting you craft candles in The Sims 4!
This mod goes all in with gameplay features such as leveling up the candle making skill by crafting the candles, selling candles, placing them in your home and having them influence your Sim’s mood. Creating candles also requires certain ingredients for you to have in your Sim’s inventory. These include Wick, Dye, Glitter and Wax which you can obtain by purchasing the Candle Making Kit. Some of the candles also require specific herbs and objects in your inventory.
You can get this Mod by clicking the button below. It can be easily installed by extracting the .zip content to Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods folder. Make sure you have Mods / CC enabled in your game options!
We interviewed Brittany Henry (also known as SimGuruBritt on Twitter) – the Lead Producer of The Sims Mobile. In case you’re not familiar with her work, she’s also been a SimGuru before during The Sims 3 days, where she worked on Expansion Packs for The Sims 3 at EA Salt Lake.
Now, Brittany is (publicly) back to talk about the latest Sims game she’s been working on! In the interview below we learn more about the past, the present and even the future of The Sims Mobile and its development. Check it out!
The Sims Mobile went through a very different, long process of releasing to players worldwide. What’s the difference between launching a PC game and launching a Mobile game?
BH: The community feedback! The amazing thing about making a mobile game is the ability we have to quickly react to our players. We form an idea, work on it, see how everyone reacts, and then make changes to make the experience better.
We saw plenty of things being added (and removed) throughout the soft launch period. What helped you determine what people liked and disliked about the game during that period?
BH: Oh man, we used every avenue we could think of to help us make decisions during soft launch! We ran surveys, held focus groups, did Q&A with some of our Game Changers, read feedback on the Internet… We observed how players interacted with different features and activities in the game. And of course, we played constantly and asked ourselves what we as players would enjoy. That led to some hard decisions, but I’m really proud of where the game is now.
For example, the aspect of death was present in The Sims Mobile for some time but was removed during the development process.
What was the decision behind adding nostalgic but unique soundtrack from The Sims 2 to The Sims Mobile?
BH: For this question, I went straight to our Audio Director, Robi Kauker. Robi is the driving force behind all of our amazing audio content. Here’s his take on it: “Funny thing is that we started with The Sims 4 music… [but] the intimacy of the game play wanted something different than The Sims 3 or 4 full orchestra sounds. Art direction always feeds into it, certain music clicks with certain art styles. Silas Hite, the composer, really made it unique for The Sims Mobile, the influence of The Sims 2 music is there, but you’d be surprised by how much The Sims 3 and 4 music plays into it as well… it’s a great legacy to be a part of.”
Is there anything The Sims Mobile team who previously worked on PC games have learned about mobile gaming throughout the soft launch period?
BH: Mobile moves fast! We would take an idea, brainstorm it, and within a couple days have a basic experience in the game that we can all play and react to. The changes to Sim aging are a good example of this. Once we knew automatic aging wasn’t working, we quickly had the basics of the new day rewards screen in game and could immediately tell that it was a much better experience to build on.
What inspired you to add Izzy’s Fashion Shop?
BH: The Sims has always been about customization; that’s what makes it so special. We wanted to play with customization even more, and make something where players could create clothing that is totally unique to show off their style at parties. When we first brainstormed the idea of a clothing shop, we knew we wanted a quirky character. (It was originally a much less cool guy called “Professor Bobbins”, lol.) Our amazing art team ran with the idea and Izzy was born!
We love progressing through stories and unlocking story items. What inspired you to add them during the soft launch period?
BH: I’m so glad you like them! SimGuruMiriam does most of the writing, and I absolutely love her work. At some point during soft launch, we realized that we had been focusing so hard on the mechanics of the game that we had left behind the humor and quirkiness that we all love about The Sims. What we had was just that – a mechanical experience with little narrative. Stories were one of the ways to start adding that emotional connection back into the game. Our first brainstorm was insane – I think we had almost 100 ideas for crazy stories we could tell. Once Miriam started writing, it was pretty clear that something special was happening, and we are excited to keep adding great stories.
The Sims Mobile had a really successful launch week. Does that mean that we can expect plenty of new and exciting things in the future?
BH: I’ll just say THANK YOU to all of our players for making launch week so awesome. And that other than other than the occasional cupcake break, we are definitely not resting over here 🙂
The Sims Mobile reached over 10 million downloads on Google Play in less than 3 weeks!
Plenty of Simmers are currently experiencing issues where they’re unable to play the game due to getting the “incompatible device” message even though they meet all the basic requirements and can play games that are much more demanding than The Sims Mobile.
Can we expect The Sims Mobile to be updated and released for new android devices in the near future?
BH: We are always working on making the experience better, faster, stronger. We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the game.
What are some of the team’s favorite features in the game?
BH: I think we all have our personal favorites, but stickers, parties, and stories are definitely hot topics of conversation in the office. As I’m typing this, we’re in the middle of the hot tub event, and those that have the hot tub are bragging, while those of us who don’t are jealous and grumbling.
Any final words?
BH: Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who is playing, reviewing, streaming, tweeting, and blogging. Your excited comments make our day. In the end, it’s all about you, and we hope to keep meeting and (hopefully) exceeding your high expectations.
The Sims Mobile is now available for download for both iOS and Android devices. You can get it HERE!
