Big news! The Sims 4 and all of its add-on packs are officially available to purchase on Steam!
Having The Sims 4 available on Steam has been highly requested by players since its launch back in 2014, so this is bound to be welcomed news for a large number of Simmers.
Not only that, but the base game and almost all packs are currently on sale on Steam! The base game is 50% off until July 9th, 2020. Expansions and game packs are 30% off; however, Eco Lifestyle is not included in the sale. Stuff packs are 20% off.
If you’ve been on the fence about completing your collection, now might be a good time to do so.
wish we could transfer to steam from origin and keep everything. i like steam more than origin tbh.
Origin updates way too often to me and the “mandatory” updates are really annoying when I want to go online for the gallery (I play offline as I notice a lot less lag overall). Steam gave me some lag for some reason when I reinstalled it but the first time I installed it I didn’t get that lag with the same computer. If paralives is worth it when it actually releases I’ll have to figure out the lag issue. I wished sims 5 wouldn’t use origin though and was just independent of it.
NGL, I was really excited for EA Play thinking we’d get some insight into the upcoming game pack and roadmap for the rest of 2020. The addition to steam is great for new players, but everyone else is already on origin and so the update isn’t really relevant for the existing community.
It would be amazing if we could transfer, because I’d love to have achievements actually register and stay on my account.. but I’m not willing to spend another $500+ to make that happen, lol.
OH! Apparently, if you just buy the base game all of your other content CAN transfer over!
“The Sims 4 is now on Steam, and you can bring the content you already own on Origin with you – with one important caveat.
“If you buy The Sims 4 on Steam, you’ll automatically get access to all the other Sims 4 stuff you already had: that includes game saves, DLC packs, in-game currency, and virtual currency. Note that it all hinges on you buying The Sims 4 on Steam; your purchase of the game itself cannot carry over from Origin to Steam. An EA representative confirmed this detail for us when we asked about transferring content from one service to the other.” – gamesradar
* In the event you chose to do this, be sure to backup your main game file so it doesn’t get overwritten. ❤
Just thought of this but you know how eco life style not long ago came out,
wouldn’t it be cool if you could get simtha (asthma but for sims)From the bad world And be diagnosed with from the get to work hospital Wouldn’t that be so cool
A bit too late, especially considering that almost all Sims players will already have it on Origin (and I doubt they would get many new players despite moving to Steam, not with the packs they’ve been releasing lately). If only we could transfer all of our saves and data to Steam. Origin is a huge pain in the ass.
Really annoyed that the latest update has caused me to get loading errors on my game – I have been a massive fan of the franchise from the start but starting to get fed up with new games being created and glitches not being properly fixed. Hours and hours of work building a family tree are gone!
I have Sims 4 from Origin and a few packs etc. But I want to buy some packs from Steam. Steam will not allow me to purchase them because it doesnt see I bought it from Origin.
Thoughts, suggestions.
Thanks!
Is it possible to upgrade the management position in Sims 4 Get to Work? By having a promoted sims who can manage the lot while I’m off sit would be cool.
