CAS

  • Vintage dark academia theme in the Sims 4 Crystal Creations CAS catalogue.
  • Lots of pieces that are designed to display jewellery pieces. Lots of rolled up sleeves and plunging necklines to show off the jewellery; it won’t get hidden underneath the clothes.
  • Little hints of jewellery built into many of the clothing items but not so much that it distracts from the jewellery the player creates.
  • Toddlers, infants, and children all have crystal earrings to represent different cultures.
  • Hairstyles with jewellery accents.
  • The jewellery players craft and put on their Sims in Live Mode remains visible in CAS so you can match the outfits to the jewellery pieces they are wearing in Live Mode. Any jewellery worn in Live Mode will show up in the CAS catalogue as well but only if your Sims have made the jewellery. You have to craft the jewellery in order to use it

Build/Buy

  • Workbenches, cabinets, vintage antique quality
  • Lots of slots for clutter on so many of the Build/Buy pieces in The Sims 4 Crystal Creations.
  • Dark Academia/Dark and Dreamy theme for the Build/Buy catalogue of this pack.
  • 1940s vintage pieces that look like they were curated by the jewellery artist.
  • “Turn of the century boarding school professor’s room” style. Not modern, but not quite Victorian. Early 20th century.
  • Lots of visual storytelling in the clutter décor.
  • One styled room in 3 different colour palettes.
  • A lot of muted colours to help the bright colours of the jewellery pop more against all the dark.

Gameplay

  • 3 new crystals and 3 new metals in The Sims 4 Crystal Creations.
  • Craft your own jewellery out of crystals and metals.
  • The crystals and metals are available in all worlds that have the rock dig sites.
  • You can purchase crystals on the computer, including crystals from this pack but no rare crystals; you still have to collect those out in the world.
  • Scientists with the Get To Work pack can give you crystals, including the new ones.
  • The new metals are Silver (Common), Gold (Uncommon), and Rose Gold (Rare).
  • The new crystals are Jade, Amber, and Moonstone.
  • Use crystals and metals to craft jewellery pieces on the new workbench.
  • Crafting jewellery builds the new Gemology skill in The Sims 4 Crystal Creations.
  • Jewellery can range in quality depending on your Sim’s skill level and emotional state.
  • Jewellery can be worn, gifted (and worn by the recipient), displayed, sold on Plopsy (with Nifty Knitting installed) or straight from the crafting table, and even named.
  • 12 of each type of design (12 necklaces, 12 earrings, 12 bracelets, 12 rings for a total of 48 designs).
  • Within those 48 designs, you can combine any number of crystals and metals to create different colour combinations with different gameplay effects. The number of possible combinations ranges in the thousands!
  • Lots of fun Easter eggs in the jewellery design descriptions.
  • Many of the pieces in each category match each other in a set. As you build the Gemology skill, all jewellery pieces from a specific set will open up to you.
  • Gemology can be learned through skill books or by crafting jewellery.
  • Ability to cut gemstones out of crystals with The Sims 4 Crystal Creations. Lots of different shapes ranging from simple star, heart, and some fun ones like a plumbob, skull, and gnome.
  • Every single crystal has a specific effect if charged under the moon. Jewellery pieces made with charged crystals carry the same effect over to Sims who wear them.
  • Cutting a crystal into a gemstone gives it an area of effect when charged, causing any Sims around it to gain those effects.
  • Moon phases affect crystal charging! They can charge faster or slower depending on the phase of the moon. New moon will charge crystals slowly. Full moon has the strongest effect and will charge your pieces super fast.
  • The crystal grid lights up to show you how fast the moon is charging the pieces on it.
  • You can charge multiple things at once (up to 7 at a time), you can charge finished jewellery pieces, gemstones, and raw metals/crystals.
  • Pieces will glow brightly when they’re fully charged.
  • Hover over the grid to see detailed info about the charging progress of the pieces.
  • Jewellery can be equipped immediately to your Sim from Live Mode without needing to enter CAS.
  • You can also have non-played Sims wear the jewellery you want immediately by gifting it to them in The Sims 4 Crystal Creations. The recipient will immediately put the jewellery on. If the gifted jewellery has an effect on it, the gift recipient will also receive the benefits of that effect.
  • Seed Shaped Gemstone unlocks at level 3 of the Gemology skill and can be made with any crystal you want.
  • This seed shaped gemstone can be planted and will grow into a crystal tree! The tree can be raised in quality, making the crystals it produces increase in rarity.
  • A crystal tree will give you a random assortment of crystals every day, so it’s a good way to keep a regular stock without doing so much digging out in the world or spending lots of money buying them.
  • New Aspiration in The Sims 4 Crystal Creations: Crystal Crafter – includes a goal of summoning the Grim Reaper with jewellery. Charged jet will allow you to do this.
  • Sims can propose marriage using a ring that they crafted themselves.
  • Charged crystals do need to be recharged periodically, depending on the effect. They won’t hold the charge forever. Sims will get a moodlet that tells you when a worn piece of jewellery is no longer charged.
  • Sims who get proposed to with a crafted ring will actually wear that ring as an engagement ring in The Sims 4 Crystal Creations. However, each ring has a designated finger it goes on so make sure you craft a ring for the finger you want the engagement ring to be on.
  • The crystal grid will only charge crystals between 7pm and 7am if it’s outside. It needs direct exposure to the moon; however, it can be placed indoors for aesthetic and décor purposes.
