New clothing, CAS items and Build Mode objects are coming for free!
The Sims 4 Base Game is getting a huge update on February 4th, 2025 to celebrate The Sims’ 25th Anniversary. It’s been revealed by Maxis that the upcoming Sims 4 Patch will include new Create A Sim items for Sims of all ages. From new facial hair to clothing for Toddlers, Infants and Adults.
The Build Mode catalogue is also getting updated with new swatches for Kitchen sets, Doors and Windows and Outdoor Kids’ Playground.

The Sims 4 Anniversary Update: First Look
What’s a birthday without gifts? On February 4th, The Sims 4 base game will receive a huge update, bringing 70+ new in-game items to all players. There will be new Create a Sim options, including two new hairstyles, baby hairs added to three classic hairstyles, and a goatee for those looking for new facial hair options. Kiddos won’t be left out, as Toddlers will receive a new hairdo! In addition, there will be new clothing from head to toe, like a new turtleneck and bodysuit, along with jackets, jeans, bike shorts, and so much more. And don’t forget to accessorize with a gold chain or a classy set of pearls, a fitted cap, and new shoes, including heels, sneakers, and sandals.

These items will be a completely free addition to The Sims 4 Base Game for all players. Additional objects, CAS items and reward traits will be available on the same day as this Update through the Blast From The Past Online Event. Also launching February 4th!

I really wish they would bring back some of the gameplay that we had in the original game and Sims 2. I love the graphics on Sims 4 but it’s boring. I haven’t played in months because it’s very hard to stay engaged. The lack of surprises and random events just makes the game boring now. It’s just not entertaining like it used to be. Bringing back the gameplay of that earlier content would be the best update for the anniversary.
I was the same way but then I satarted to just build and create storylines. Plus adding mods enhances the overall gameplay imo
