So. Basically Get to Work 2 but more. They should just make it an update to Get To Work aka a free update for those who own Get to Work and something to make Get to Work more interesting to maybe get for those who do not have it.
Not to mention all the hobbies we have from other stuff. And don’t we have shop tables we can set down to sell stuff on already? But of course EA is probably going to do the route that gets them more money. (If it being a separate pack even sells. more people may be losing patience at this.)

i’m guessing (hoping) this will add more lot types for businesses, like laundromat or arcade, etcetera. plus, there really aren’t enough hobbies in the game imo

i think this expansion is more about hobbies like Sculpting or creating new item.

Not to mention it’s the most expensive pack, an expansion pack! EA is shameless. I bought every EP and almost all other packs but I’m seriously thinking of not buying this one.

lol!! It won’t hurt their bottom line at all. A lot of people actually love this game and aren’t miserable . It’s an optional add on . That’s the entire point . And we don’t know the details yet .

Y’all are some weird and whiny people. The details are not released yet . I personally love this theme and we need more aspirations and hobbies. Just go away if you don’t like the game

I’m very disappointed. With the surveys and the possible packs we could have gotten, I really thought we would get one of them. But what’s the point of a reboot of Get to Work? We don’t need that—maybe an improvement, but not a whole new pack! Instead of enriching the game with new ideas, they’re just reusing old ones. Well, for now, we only have the name, but honestly, it doesn’t seem any different from Get to Work. Let’s wait and see, but judging by the name, it’s not off to a great start.

unpopular opinion but I’m happy it’s a full EP and not a Get To Work refresh. GTW is so old and its assets are so outdated that it needs to be completely remade. A refresh wouldn’t be enough to bring us new jobs/ hobbies and quality assets. I just hope they update the aliens at some point tho.

I agree, but on the other hand I get that GTW has always been the pact that needed a refresh the most and this announcement just brings attention to the fact that we never got one. Also, if they try to sell this new pack by adding live-in businesses people will RIOT lmao

i just wish they would make it possible to separate shops from each other like apartments in «for rent»

imo they’ll introduce a new lot type that allows us to have our own shop on our residential lot. Like we had in the Sims 2 Open For Business.

damn i was rlly hoping for something related to time travel, but there’s still TIME lol. but in all seriousness, i’m actually excited for this, i don’t mind that it’s similar to Get to Work, i’m always excited for increased realism. plus it might include more instruments!!

So Sims 2 Freetime(think that was the name of the hobbies pack)? Guess we’ll be getting the broken down car to repair so folks who wanted cars can shush for now

I so hope so, but the business part makes it sound like an hybrid version of the Sims 2 “Open For Business” and “Freetime”, and many of the hobbies from Freetime we already have. From what’s left, the following ones are very unlikely: nursery (they would make a whole pack around it), sewing (too similar to knitting), baking (we just had home chef hustle)… so besides bird watching, pottery, ballet dancing, car fixing and small objects like ant farms, I’m not sure what to expect. Especially considering these are very hard to incorporate in a business model.

Sims 2 free time was a great pack, the theme has a lot of potential. I hope this pack is fully developed like life and death, not the bare minimum of features like for rent or love struck.

After all the recent speculation about burglars and time travel, I did not see this theme coming. I want more info. I would love to see a return of sewing, pottery and toy making. Perhaps the woodworking skill can get an update.

i hope it’s going to be like free time from 2 and Ambitions from sims 3 . i missed sport park , hair salon , tattoo artist , bands , junkyards , repairing cars and i even missed Sculpting.

BANDDDSSS guys I think you’re underestimating what we can get with this theme. Bands and studios, burglars, tattoo shops?? Fingers crossed they popped off with this one

I wonder if this will include bands? I could see the connection, but who knows?

My first thought was they’re finally going to make “Open for Business”, which is undoubtedly my favorite TS2 expansion pack.

I’ll be honest, this doesn’t look promising. I was really hoping for the return of burglars and possibly a playable criminal career. Of course, maybe we’ll still get burglars and they’ll rob your sim’s business lol. I’m not sure what they’d add for hobbies at this point since we have quite a few, but I’d like to see sewing, pottery and vehicle repair at least. This pack will need a lot of gameplay objects to make it worthy of being called an expansion and, like others have mentioned, it should at least have new lot types and some new lot traits. I don’t know… I’m not optimistic, but I’ll definitely be waiting for further information.

I’m really excited, this is one of my absolute dream packs! I’m hoping for a mix of Sims 2 Open for Business and Sims 2 Hobbies, so maybe an option for a business from home and lots of new hobbies.

So we might get an 80’s mall after all, if it goes with the event item’s then maybe the stuff in the pack will be 80’s to 00’s for you know, style, CaS, Build/Buy.
As for gameplay, more hobbies, open a store at your sims homelot, making better money for selling self-made stuff, … integration with current hobbies sims can have from all packs.
We will see.

I’ll reserve judgement until we know more. Done right, this could be a good pack, especially if it comes with a parallell update to GTW and BG:

  • Multipurpose lots in base game
  • A ticket-counter/entry fee counter added to base game for entry fees for all kinds of venues.
  • An update of business objects in GTW, with a few new items such as changing booth (one version in the pack, another in GTW), browsable clothing racks, an overview of shelves to fit more things on them…
  • The pack itself could come with more ownable businesses (bars, gyms, lounges, nightclubs…) for more business options with new tasks (like book acts for your lounge)
  • Hobbies could include things to make and sell sewing, pottery, functional toys
  • Other businesses could include hair dresser, make-up artist, tattoo-artist, barber… (hopefully with NPC options on venues we do not own)
  • A hobby pack could also include bands (with a larger variety of instruments) and a freelance career tied to that (finding a lounge to play at, recording a record in a studio…)
  • They could also add activities things like ballet, jazz dance, gymnastics, cross fit…

Then there is of course the question of a world, but I actually hope they don’t add one, and instead focus on more gameplay objects.

As much as I’d love it, I doubt we’d get cars, not with van-life being in the works. But I suppose you could always hope.

that could be interesting if correctly implemented (which is unlikely with EA). we never had dental care in any of the Sims games

Doar eu îmi doresc că toddler sa meargă la grădiniță și să fie un pack pentru ei și să nu căutăm mod în care sa meargă,doar eu îmi doresc ceva pentru pitici unde sa mergem cu ei să învețe să scrie și vorbește

If the main selling point of this expansion is to let player run business from home lot, then it’s long been achieved by free mod. Then again, always expect Electronic Donkeyhole to do their worst. It would be nice if they do something like For Rent where you can use a business lot as the main lot, but still cut out sublots for other use to better use the larger sized business lots. But I’m not holding my breath because once again, this is Electronic Donkeyhole.

awhile back i had stuff in mind similair to this but it’s split up with other pack ideas to stay in topic

but i had a topic based on little kids

-activities and competitions little kids can do
-play places
-sport activities
-more aspirations
-skate parks
-more skills options
-play instruments
-toy ovens
-football/soccer
-art skills
-programming skills
-fashion designs
-photography
-gardening
-chess skills
-science skills
-dance skills
-cheerleading
-handy skills (not all of them, just some of them)
-sport likes/dislikes

and maybe the teen and older sims can help little kids with the skills
and i have to admit some of the options should also be for teens
(if not mistaken teens already have some things adults can do)

and i had this idea 2 years or so back
https://forums.ea.com/discussions/the-sims-4-feedback-en/suggestion-stuff-pack-for-selling-furniture-in-the-sims/11251519

i was doing a certain challenge you can’t use TV, computer or other digital stuff so that’s how i came with this idea, i think it match with the tittle since it said “business and hobbies” hopefully we get a new venue you can work in your own home like you run a business while you live just above it, it can work so well with food stalls that came with “Home Cheff Hustle” and as an aspiration idea maybe the money category  “running the furniture shop/market” or something like that

i had a topic that’s based on my country but it can work with this tittle very well

-shuffleboard
-blikgooien (which translates to “can throwing” in Dutch)
-jumping rope (The Sims 2 had them)
-hooghouden
(i don’t know the translate but you play solo but if it touch the ground it’s game-over, you have to use your feet only for this game)

i hope we get to see these in this upcoming pack

running your own business is a thing in “The Netherlands” where i’m from, i can’t speak for other countries though but i came up with these ideas awhile back

i also hope they add things that was in earlier sims i didn’t mentioned too so it balance with business and hobbies very well because almost all my ideas are based on hobbies

I hope that 11 years later they finally bring cars to The Sims 4. I also hope that this expansion brings us new professions and hobbies, like being a Mechanic, for e.g..
