Nordhaven World In The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies

The Sims 4 Businesses and Hobbies New World Map

As confirmed in the latest Official Blog post, the New World coming with The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies Expansion is titled Nordhaven. And features two Neighborhood areas: Gammelvik and Iverstad. Thanks to the EA App features we know that there will be 12 new Lots in total!

Looking at the architecture of this pack and the World Map itself, it seems the new World is inspired heavily by the Scandinavian cities and towns in Europe. Which shouldn't come as a surprise - considering that this is the first Sims 4 Expansion Pack to be developed by the Maxis Europe team!

From what I can see, it seems to be a two neighborhoods and 12/13 lots world (depending if the large grass roof building above the active lot is a shell/rabbithole or a playable one, I can’t quite tell).

Looks like a fake to me. The playable lots have a white outline around them.

I know. The reason I was unsure is because I can barely see the outline around the active lot, with how large the building on it is. I thought it could be the same with the other one.
Well then, 2 neighborhoods and 12 lots it is. Thanks for the help.

Man, I just want an Islamic world. This game has a lot of Islamic items and nowhere to use them, why are they so adamant on not adding one?

As a Scandinavian, I’m pleased they finally made a Scandinavian-inspired world. I hope your wish will come true in a future pack. It would be absolutely beautiful 🙂

there’s so many cultures in the world, and so many that they’ve yet to include, I don’t think it’s personal! I’m north African, but I’m not surprised or upset at the lack of inclusion. plus, certain cultures might be more difficult to encapsulate without causing discomfort or offense, especially Islamic cultures, where many aspects of the culture are sensitive/delicate, and the last thing EA wants is to offend more than 1 billion people lol

but I still really hope to see them try, or at least incorporate more north African and middle eastern architecture into the game <3 it would be really nice

The world is called Nordhaven and will have only two neighbourhoods: Gammelvik and Iverstad

Thanks for the heads up – updated the article! There will be more feature articles coming very soon 🙂

For a change, a nordic-inspired world. This world is inspired by Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.

  5. Spacey

There’s mountains in the map and rocks all around the coast, that’s not what Amsterdam looks like.

  6. Josefin

The areas shown in the trailer look to be inspired by Gamla Stan in Stockholm. And Amsterdam is not part of Scandinavia! Sorry for being nitpicky but as a Swede I just had to now that we FINALLY got a Scandi inspired world I do think it looks a bit bland though, sadly…

  7. Natalie

”…the new World is inspired heavily by the influences of Scandinavia. Amsterdam to be more exact!”

Amsterdam is not part of Scandinavia though. The names “Gammelvik” and “Iverstad” follow a typical Swedish place name structure, with elements like “Gammel-” (old) and “-vik” (bay) being common in Swedish toponymy. The world also seem to resemble several places in Scandinavia, including Stockholm.

  8. Lulu

It’s worth updating the article to remove the reference to Amsterdam as that isn’t in Scandinavia.

  9. Momo

So.. are we just never going to get an african, latin american, south asian, or south american pack? If I’m white and I’m frustrated I can’t imagine how underrepresented people related to those areas feel

But.. the love stuck world, djungle adventure, for rent world?

        Reply to Johanna

true, that leaves an african inspired world since we have lots of rep from other world types currently in game and have been done before in previous Sims titles. I would absolutely love to see an African inspired world, or even Australian!

  10. Gorgoronisko

Eghm, Slavs occupy half of Europe… and we still haven’t gotten anything…
Although considering Russia’s current reputation.. that might be difficult 🙁
