An interesting job listing has just surfaced the EA Careers website, reinstating that Electronic Arts is deeply interested in continuing with The Sims 4 Marketplace feature. And possibly make it a legacy thing for the next Sims release as they title it "The Sims Marketplace" - in search for the next Head of Sims Marketplace as a Senior Director at Electronic Arts.
The new job listing strongly suggests the ongoing work and support that EA is set out to do for The Sims Marketplace. EA calls it a "two-sided ecosystem" within the official job listing, which refers to Makers that create Marketplace content and Players that purchase said content.
The hybrid position open at several US EA locations is looking for someone who can foster The Sims Marketplace roadmap, build a scalable business out of it and collaborate with the team to keep the content flowing.
There's not much new information shared other than the fact that EA is strongly refering to this as a Sims Marketplace, suggesting that this feature could very much be integrated into the core franchise experience. The job listing is one of the highest paid jobs at Electronic Arts, so I'm assuming EA is very interested in further investing into The Marketplace ecosystem down the line by finding a qualifiable Product Manager for it.
