After the studio switch of The Sims Mobile, Firemonkeys has ensured that the game will receive major improvements just like the all brand new Sweet Treat Update. Today I’ll be sharing my opinion for this update.
Starting the game will prompt the all brand new “game show” style event, Sweet Treat Showdown hosted by Patty Cakes, a new NPC designed just for this event.
Making your way to Parkside, you’ll see the bakery where you can start the event. Overall it’s a cute atmosphere. For here you can start the event and here’s where the fun begins. More new NPCs called Rivals will appear and dish out their cakes and pastries. Your objective is to replicate the dish your rival make by playing it safe or by taking risk. It’s all up to the player to choose which path they’d like their Sims to take. Throughout the event there are some fantastic animation and angle which were a nice addition and I hope they’ll continue to do more of this.
If the player succeed a round, they can move on to the next round or end the game but here’s the catch! If the player failed a round, they’ll lose all the rewards (may consist of Sweet Treat Tokens, Royal Sweet Tokens and others) collected throughout the round and receive a consolation prize which will not define all the hard work and risk you did in the rounds. You can also ask Patty for help but it doesn’t come for free.
After collecting enough Sweet Treat Tokens and Royal Treat Tokens, you can start unlocking prizes with the Sweet Treat Box or the Royal Treat Box to dress up your Sims or decorate they’re homes. After unlocking all the items, you’ll instantly receive the Grand Prize. The first one comes for free but if you want more well there’s a huge price tag that comes with that (does not apply to CAS items). The prizes are random but there are no duplicates! So everything you get is always fresh. You can also earn more tokens from other events but they come in small numbers.
There were at least two Sweet Treat Showdown Events that happen in this update which was themed Country Living and Charming Gardens. For Charming Gardens some changes were made from Country Living but they weren’t really big. Here’s the changes made stated by SimGuruIlya.
There were also an addition of three more Wumples Wishlist Quest and changes to the Surgeon and Secret Agent Career which was the addition of its own quest after reaching a certain level.
Overall, the update brings some nice changes but it can be difficult and expensive some times. The prizes are not really that worth the effort since they were just for decoration purposes and give no gameplay of sort, but players can still expect more Sweet Treat Showdown in the future as the gurus confirmed this event is here to stay. A teaser for the next update also have dropped and we’re hoping to see some more changes, more Sweet Treat Showdown, Wumples Wishlist Quest and the long waited Moschino Capsule Collection for The Sims Mobile.
Let us know your opinion about the new update and changes you really hope to see in the game!
The Sims Mobile has just launched a brand new update for The Sims Mobile! This update sees the addition of the Moschino Collaboration and some updates for the Sweet Treats and Modelling Careers. You’ll also find a selection of fixes for any bugs and issues that some players have experienced in the game.

Sweet Treat Showdown and Modelling Career Details
A new quest has been added to this updates’ Sweet Treat Showdown! You’ll be put to the test again by creating culinary delights in the special bakery venue in Parkside! In this High Fashion update, players can unlock brand new apartment loft-style items to create the ultimate photography studio space! Prizes include a clothing rack, book case, leather sofa, funky decor, fashion magazines, and more!
Bake your way through the Sweet Treat Showdown Challenge to unlock the ultimate grand prize: a modeling career for the Fashion Studio location! Launch your Sim’s career and take the fashion industry by storm! Your Sim will be able to show off their moves on the runway and work their way up to becoming a supermodel!
We’ve also made a number of improvements, based on your feedback. Here are some notes from our developers:
A new quest has been added to the Sweet Treat Showdown. This quest will award additional Sweet Treat Tokens and Royal Treat Tokens.
The 5 round challenges have been removed, with the exception of a ‘tutorial baker’ who only appears once, during your first challenge. After that, you will only see the 7, 9, and 10 round bakers now (the 9 and 10 round bakers will become more frequent later in the event).
“The value of the 5 round challenges was so low that it didn’t feel worth using an attempt on. With the 7 round challenges appearing straight away, followed by the 9 and 10 round challenges, players should be able to start earning more tokens earlier in the event.”
The 7 round challenge now has better preparation tasks, which should be more appropriate for each round’s success chance.
“The 7 round challenge felt far too hard for the rewards it gave. Part of this was due to the fact that the preparation tasks offered were not powerful enough to compensate for the success chance. Upgrading these tasks should make these challenges feel more beatable.”
The 6 hour and 12 hour events have been reduced to 4 and 8 hours respectively, with slightly longer cooldowns.
“These events aren’t intended to be the main focus of the Sweet Treat Challenge, so the goal of this change is to free up your Sims a bit more so that they can spend their time on other tasks.”

The Sims 4 Realm of Magic has gifted us with many new features and one of these is the option to partake in duels with other Spellcasters.
Now, your Spellcaster can duel anywhere and with pretty much all Spellcasters but, you can also visit the Dueling Grounds in The Magic Realm too if you really want to add to the atmosphere.
Dueling Grounds
You will find the Dueling Grounds via a portal that is located behind the Magic HQ. Once you enter the portal you will be taken over to one of the other islands.
Once you have made your way to the Dueling Grounds, you can start your Duel with another Spellcaster.
Simply click on the Sim you wish to challenge to a duel, go to the Magic menu and then select the type of duel you wish to start.
Types of Duels
There are several different kinds of duels you can have between Spellcasters.
Heated Duel
Friendly Duel
Duel for Knowledge – Your Sim has a chance of learning new Spells.
Duel for Ingredients – Your Sim could win some potion ingredients.
Duel for Artifacts – Your Sim could win some Wands or Brooms.

You can find out more about becoming a Spellcaster, Familiars, spells & potions, the world of Glimmerbrook and much more here!
While The Sims 4 Realm of Magic doesn’t come with any new traits for your Sims, there are several new reward traits that you can unlock.
The Magical Bloodline trait comes in three different variations. The more generations of a family you have, the stronger the trait will become.
Weak Bloodline
This Sim’s parents had no Bloodline traits. Sims with the Weak Bloodline trait gain an additional talent point at each Spellcaster rank to spend towards perks. They also gain Spellcaster experience faster and reduce the chance of overloading by 10%.
Strong Bloodline
At least one of this Sim’s parents had a Weak Bloodline trait. Sims with a Strong Bloodline trait gain an additional talent point for each Spellcaster rank to spend towards perks. They also gain Spellcaster experience faster and reduce the chance of overloading by 20%
Ancient Bloodline
At least one of this Sim’s parents had a Strong or Ancient Bloodline trait. Sims with the Ancient Bloodline trait gain an additional talent point at each Spellcaster rank to spend towards perks. They also gain Spellcaster experience faster and reduce the chance of overloading by 50%.
The Magical Bloodline traits are a lovely rewarding addition to the pack and we’re sure it will come in handy for Legacy players too!
The Sims 4 Realm of Magic sees the return of the perks panel with twenty-four perks your Spellcaster Sims can choose from. Of course, this all depends on the kind of magic you want you Sim to learn.
The Spellcaster Perks will really allow your Sims to harness their Magic and become the greatest Spellcaster in Glimmerbrook.
As your Sim practices magic, learns new spells & potions or by taking part in Duels against other Spellcasters, your Sim will earn Spellcaster experience points. Once your Sim maxes out the rank bar they will be awarded Talent Points and progress up to the next rank.
Spellcaster Ranks
There are a total of six Spellcaster Ranks and when you first become a Spellcaster, your Sim will be ranked as an apprentice.
The other five Spellcaster Ranks are as followed:
Neophyte
Acolyte
Adept
Master
Virtuoso
Every time you level up your Spellcaster Rank, you will be rewarded with Talent Points to spend on Perks.
Spellcaster Perks
“Perks contain a variety of helpful ways to increase magical prowess. As one gains more experiences and titles they also gain Talent Points. Invest wisely. Your Spellcaster rank determines what perks are available. Perks attached with a line must be purchased in order from the bottom.”
When you first start as a Spellcaster, you will not have any perks selected and your perk screen will resemble the one above.
As you begin to master more and more you are able to choose which perks fit your Spellcaster. While the perks on the left-hand side need to be purchased in order from the bottom the perks on the right-hand side can be purchased in any order providing you are of the right Spellcaster Rank.
Once your Spellcaster Sim has earnt their fair share of Talent Points, your Spellcaster Perks panel could look a little like this. However, there are numerous perk combinations that you can have too.
Remember: If you are not happy with the Spellcaster Perks you have chosen, you can use a Potion of Perk Purging to reset them and select the ones you want again.
Track One – Represented by the spellbook
Knowledge Is Magic – Sim reads and does computer research at a faster rate. These interactions also provide Magical experience over time.
Mote Hound – Sim can now always see Magical Motes and collect them. Motes can be consumed for experience and minor, random motive boosts.

Mix Master – Extra servings will be in the Cauldron each time a potion is successfully created.
Potent Potables – Effects on all potions are increased and/or last significantly longer. Sim can now Hex their potions to have them always fail.
Track Three – Represented by the hand
Discharge – This Sim can now cast Discharge which empties Spellcaster Charge.
Power Shunt – Casting a spell now adds significantly less Spellcaster Charge.
Spectral Reach – Sim can now cast long distances (without having to move closer to the target). Also, Sims no longer know who cast the spell on them so they won’t react negatively to you.

Master Duelist – This Sim has significantly increased chances of winning a duel and reaps better rewards from them.
While the above perks are progressive and tailored towards a specific aspect of Spellcasting, the perks from the right-hand side of the Perks panel can be added in any order.

All Spellcaster Perks cost one Talent Point.
The Spellcaster Perks really give you the opportunity to fine-tune your Spellcasters magic and focus on a particular aspect. Of course, if you really want your Sim could master everything a Spellcaster can possible master!

The stream is set to begin at 3PM CET / 7AM PT / 2PM BT.
The Sims 4 Realm of Magic adds a new collection to the game called Magical Artifacts. It also adds two new plants to the Gardening collection.
Magical Artifacts
The Magical Artifacts collection is comprised of wands, broomsticks, and familiars. Unlike most other collections in the game, every item in this collection is functional as well as decorative. Spellcasters can fly on their broomsticks, use their wands to cast spells, and name and summon their familiars to help protect them. When not in use, these items can be displayed as decorative pieces around your Sim’s home.
There are a total of 10 wands, 11 familiars, and 5 broomsticks to make a total of 26 items in the collection. Wands and broomsticks have multiple colour variants so your Sims can continue collecting artifacts of differing colours even after completing the collection. Additional colour variants will add themselves to the collection panel as your Sim obtains them.
Magical Artifacts can be purchased in Caster’s Alley or won through dueling.

Gardening
Mandrake and Valerian Root are the two new plants added to the existing Gardening collection. They come in a new magical seed packet and can be used as potion ingredients.
Please note that prices listed below are for perfect quality plants, but prices do vary depending on plant quality.
During the Realm of Magic deep dive Livestream, SimGuruNinja & SimGuruRomeo revealed that the new game pack would allow players the chance to create a magical new club if you have The Sims 4 Get Together expansion pack.
Setting up a Club is easy. Simply head over to the Clubs panel on the right-hand side of the user interface and you’ll have the option to join a Club.
The Club Manager will then appear with a list of currently established Clubs but you will want to select Create a Club at the bottom of the pop up instead.
From there you can start to customize different aspects of your Club. From the Club name, the Club Hangout, members, requirements and club activities.
For requirements, you can set it so only Spellcasters can join your Club instead of just anyone.
Club Activities is where you will be able to assign the Cast Spells as an approved or banned activity. You can find the activity under the Mischief and Mayhem category.
You will also be able to add the activity Use Cauldron from the Hobbies section too.
Once you have customized your Club you are all ready to go. You can keep track of Club members and activities in the Club interface as well as start/end a gathering, modify Club outfits and buy Club Perks.
Once you’ve done that, you can enjoy casting spells with other Spellcasters during Club Gatherings.
Just be careful the Spellcaster’s don’t set too much on fire!
You can find out more about the Clubs feature in The Sims 4 Get Together here.
The Sims 4 Realm of Magic allows your Sims to gain almost unlimited power as a Spellcaster, but beware! If your Spellcaster isn’t careful, they could wind up cursed!
About Curses
Curses are negative effects that will afflict your Sim in a variety of detrimental ways. Anytime your Spellcaster fails to cast a spell or brew a potion correctly, there’s a chance it could backfire and leave your Spellcaster cursed. Spellcasters can have up to three curses on them at one time.
Curses are not timed buffs! They are permanent status effects that will plague your Spellcaster for the rest of their lives unless you get rid of it via a spell or potion. Curses cannot kill your Spellcaster, but you will want to remove curses as quickly as possible because they can be quite a nuisance. It will be difficult to do just about anything with a cursed Spellcaster.
Spellcasters cannot cast curses on other Sims. They will only affect Spellcasters after some kind of magical mishap. They are an unfortunate random event, although your Spellcaster’s rank and abilities will influence the likelihood of failing a spell or potion.
Avoiding Curses
The best offense is a good defense! Avoiding curses in the first place is the best way to ensure your Spellcaster’s journey to greatness doesn’t get slowed down. There are a number of things your Spellcaster can do to reduce the likelihood of being afflicted by a curse. Of course, being a high ranking Spellcaster always helps, but perks and traits can further aid in avoiding curses.
The Hexproof perk will make your Spellcaster immune to curses all together. All perks that help Spellcasters manage their charge level will reduce the chance of spell failure and thereby reduce the chance of being cursed as well.
Spellcasters with one of the magical bloodline traits will also see reduced chances of spell failure. The more powerful the trait, the greater the reduction.
Removing Curses
Sometimes, despite our best effort, things blow up in our faces. It may not always be possible to avoid being cursed. Luckily, there are two ways your Spellcaster can remove a pesky curse.
The Potion of Curse Cleansing will remove all curses from your Spellcaster.
The Decursify spell will also remove curses from your Spellcaster,
Curse List
There are a total of ten possible curses your Spellcasters could be slammed with if they fail to cast a spell or brew a potion.
Curse of Awkward Embraces
You’re just really into hugging and touching others now. It’s too hard to resist. Awkward.
Curse of Infectious Laughter
Sometimes you just can’t stop laughing, even in inappropriate situations and often times spread it to others.
Curse of Repulsiveness
What a horrifying visage! This will cause terror and disgust in all nearby Sims. Socializing will be much harder.
Curse of Scrambled Spells
You’re losing control of your magic. Casting will sometimes have random powerful results.
Curse of Uncleansable Stench
You are eternally drenched in the smelliest of gym sweat constantly. Showering does nothing!
Curse of Uncontrollable Charge
You now draw too much Magical Energy. All gains are increased.
Curse of Unwarranted Hostility
For some reason everyone just wants to be mean to you and even start fights with you.
Curse of the Duelist
Be prepared to get into more duels! It’s going to be a lot harder to win, and rewards won’t be as good.
Curse of the Night Wraith
A Spectral Stalker is hunting you. But where are they now?! Good luck trying to sleep!
The Sims 4 Realm of Magic Game Pack comes with two different worlds: Glimmerbrook (which is a residental world) and The Magic Realm for your Sims to showcase their magical talents!
In the video down below we went through both worlds, introduced you to the new pre-made households, showcased the lots and more! Check it out down below:

We’ve went through both categories, checked out all the items and their presets and even tested out the portal functionality in the overview video down below. Check it out!
One of the many new features coming with The Sims 4 Realm of Magic is the option for your Sim to have a Familiar. The easiest way for your Sim to obtain familiars in The Sims 4 is by visiting Juan’s Wonderful One-Stop Wand Warehouse in Caster Alley where you will find a selection of familiars that you can buy there and then. You will usually find three different ones in stock and they can vary from day to day as to which ones are available, so keep checking back to find your perfect magical companion.
There are also a couple of other ways that you can obtain a magical companion. This can be done by searching for Tomes or by winning certain Duels as well.
Binding Familiars
Once you locate your desired Familiar in your Sims’ inventory, you will simply be able to click on it and chose the option ‘Bind Familiar’. Once you have done this you will be asked to name the Sims 4 familiars. You can either keep the default name that it is given or chose your own name.
If you are unhappy with your Sims 4 Familiars’ names once you have initially named them or just fancy something different, you can change their names simply by going into the Familiar menu and selecting ‘Rename Familiar.’
Summoning Your New Magical Companion
Of course, summoning Sims 4 familiars is incredibly easy! Simply click on your Sim, select the Magic sub-menu followed by the Familiar menu. You will then be presented with a pop-up box allowing you to select any of the Familiars your Sim has bound to them.
If for whatever reason you wish to unbind from your Sims 4 familiars, you can simply go to the Familiar menu and select unbind. That Familiar will then return to your Sims inventory where you can bind with the familiar again or place it in the world.
Types of Sims 4 Familiars
In total there are eleven different types of magical companion that your Sim can have but you can have more than one of the same kind too.
Common Familiars
The following familiars in The Sims 4 are common finds in The Magic Realm.
Fairy – $100

Also, if you happen to own The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs, you are able to bind your Cat or Dog as Sims 4 familiars too! Of course, all you have to do is click on your pet, head to the Magic menu and you will be given the option to ‘Bind Pet as Familiar.’
Once you have done that, you can summon your cat or dog the same way you would with any other magical companion. You will notice that your Cat or Dog will have a slight sparkle/glow to them now and you will also be able to send them on special forages to help gather magical items which, is something you can’t do normally. What a helpful magical companion!
When you send your cat and dog Sims 4 familiars out on a foraging adventure they will leave your home lot for several hours before returning with what they have discovered.
Of course, being able to be bound to your own Cat or Dog as a magical companion means there are numerous possibilities of the kinds of familiars you can have. Also, if you are stuck for ideas, why not take some inspiration from some other well-known magical creatures!
