Nicki Yee, one of the animators who has worked on both The Sims 4 and The Sims Mobile has published an animations reel of some of her work she’s done for The Sims Mobile.
In the reel video down below you’ll see some of the animations which are currently included in the game and some that yet have to see the light of day, such as a Sim flying on a broomstick.
A short reel showcasing some of my favorite animations I made while working on The Sims Mobile team at EA/Maxis.
All animations are hand keyed with the exception of some experimental animations where we toyed with the idea of using Mo-cap for the blocking stage (Last 2 shots in Bonus Material). Thanks for taking a look!
3 months ago we reported on the previous Quarter for Fiscal Year 2019 where Andrew Wilson, EA’s CEO has stated that The Sims Franchise would be getting over 20 content drops in Fiscal Year 2020. In case you don’t know, EA’s Fiscal Year 2020 begins in April 2019 and ends in April 2020.
However, their latest report for their Fourth Quarter of Fiscal Year 2019 includes an interesting statement, saying that, not only will they be delivering active content for BOTH Console, Mobile and PC but that The Sims 4 alone will be getting those 20 content drops over the next 12 months! This could include pack releases, big content updates and pack releases for console.
Here’s everything they’ve stated regarding The Sims Franchise and The Sims 4 in general:
As we wrap up FY19, I also want to highlight the continued success of The Sims 4, which has grown every year since we launched. We launched three new content packs and multiple game updates for our Sims 4 community throughout the year, all of which contributed to a 35% year over-year increase in active players and our strongest year of engagement yet for this ongoing live service. The passion of our Sims community is incredible, and we look forward to bringing them many more great experiences in the year ahead.
We expect live services to grow 10% to 15%, led by Apex Legends, FIFA Ultimate Team and The Sims 4.
We will add over 20 different content drops for The Sims 4.
Fans of Battlefield V, The Sims 4, and Anthem will have more great content and new ways to play in the year ahead.
Electronic Arts has just published their Q4 report for Fiscal Year 2019, including some statistics regarding The Sims 4!
They’ve reported that The Sims 4’s number of active playerse has increased for 35% year-over-year, taking in consideration the entire Fiscal Year of 2019 which lasted from April 2018 to April 2019 and comparing it to Fiscal Year of 2018.
They’ve also shared a statement that they’ll actively continue to grow The Sims 4 with new content over the next fiscal year!
In FY19, active players in The Sims 4 increased by 35% year-over-year.
“We ended our fiscal year with strong growth, driven by our live services business which continued toprovide a very large, stable and profitable source of net bookings,” said COO and CFO Blake Jorgensen. “Looking ahead, we will bring games to an extraordinary variety of players in fiscal 2020 and deliver on our commitment to players with deep live services content for Ultimate Team, Apex Legends, The Sims 4, Anthem and Battlefield V.”

His latest attempt is to try and speed up the loading time process that occurs when loading different lots when playing The Sims 4. That includes loading up your current household, visiting other lots and venues and visiting other households (basically anything that will put a spinning plumbob inbetween).
He’s stated that his latest work isn’t really a mod but more of a tool that will use up more of your computer’s potential, saying:
It’s actually less of a mod and more of a tool. It converts the games files to be read faster. It works for both TS3 and TS4 too!
I’m still in the middle of programming the tool for complete compatibility, and for optimization purposes. At one point, it reached 5 gigs of ram just to convert one 1 gb file lol.
He’s planning to publish this tool to the public eventually. Until then you can watch the video where he travel between a few different lots in The Sims 4 and see the drastic difference in loading times!

EA Play 2019 is a huge gaming event held by Electronic Arts in Hollywood, Los Angeles this June where players will be able to get their hands on new experiences, participate in Dev Talks and various Interactive Experiences and more!
EA has also released their brand new EA Play app where you can keep track of all of the events that will happen during EA Play.

IMG 6991
Among all of that they’ve also included gaming franchises that will be present during EA Play 2019. Among other video games that they’ve listed The Sims 4 is also going to be one of the games that you’ll be able to get your hands on in the Fan Fest area:
The game is going to be playable from 10:30AM to 6:30PM PT, both June 8th and June 9th. You’re currently not able to reserve your gameplay time but considering that the app has just been released.
What’s interesting is that the app hasn’t specified if The Sims 4 will have any new experiences or packs present during the Fan Fest as they’re keeping it all under wraps with a very short description of The Sims 4’s essence.
However, considering that they’re offering Gameplay Reservations for The Sims 4 booth it’s almost certain that there’s going to be something new offered on the event. Last year The Sims Team has also kept The Sims 4 under wraps before they announced the game in late May and stated that it’s going to be playable during EA Play 2018.
SimGuruLyndsay has also reassured players that The Sims 4 will be present at the event:
We also have a speculation post regarding that a new Expansion Pack for The Sims 4 could be released sometime in June – just when EA Play is taking place! Mix that with an official confirmation that a brand new Expansion Pack, Game Pack and Stuff Pack is coming to The Sims 4 in the following months and we’re almost completely assured that a new experience will be presented at EA Play 2019!
Although it’s definitely not the most brilliant TV Show out there, Riverdale still manages to captivate a huge audience, myself included. The cast playing in this show are talented when it comes to acting, but are they good at playing The Sims 4? Ok, sure, that’s not something that you could count as a talent but after you watch the following video you’re definitely going to appreciate all the simming skills you’ve got.
One of the main Riverdale actresses Madelaine Petsch has given The Sims 4 a try for her very first time. The video is rather interesting and definitely shows what introducing a whole new person to a Sims game looks like. However, if you know all about The Sims and its possibilities you may want to brace yourself as Madelaine embraces her beginner adventure in The Sims 4!

Many players have just started reporting that their Origin Program reports that it’s in “Offline Mode”. This issue is caused by connectivity problems within the Origin’s Client which has also been confirmed by EA.
During this period players won’t be able to access The Sims 4’s Online Gallery which relies on Origin’s servers. We’ll make sure to update this post as soon as Origin is back up and running!
