Hey guys,
I don’t know when this happen or how but after the last patch, Origin is once again enabled online for TS4. This is a massive cause of lag for me personally and I had it disabled.
You might want to check yours!

The above screen is how my game looked this morning when I was checking the settings.
NOTE: Disabling Origin in game will remove your ability to access the gallery while in-game. You can still access it out of the game and you can always turn it back on if you need to have it in game for some reason.
The Sims Team released a new clip for The Sims 4 Vintage Glamour Stuff Pack!
When “The Sims” was released in 2000, anyone who played it was blown away about the complexity of the game. Many people, including myself, didn’t think the game could get any better then it was at the time.
Then “The Sims 2” Happened.

Let’s travel back in time, over 12 years ago… to September 14th, 2004.
The Sims 2 took the original game and made it 100 times better than what it was. Which, back in 2004, no one ever thought it was possible.
For the first time on PC, all graphics were in 3-D. Yeah, we had 3-D graphics in the console versions of the game. But never before were we able to fully immerse ourselves in the game like we could in The Sims 2.
We had 3 distinct neighborhoods, all of which had their own story line.
Pleasantview was set 25 years AFTER “The Sims”.

Strangetown was modeled after the mysterious disappearance of Bella Goth,

Veronaville was a play on Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”.

For the first time, our sims had wants and fears, which was HUGE Part of this installment of the series. The wants and fears were dictated by your Sim’s aspiration. Which could be one of the following:
Those wants and fears were based upon one of those 5 aspirations you chose in Create a Sim.
Oh and speaking of Create A Sim…

The details in CAS were now beyond comprehension. You could change almost everything about your Sims, down to the eye size, by just a simple slide of a mouse. You can just pick more than their “everyday” wear now. You could pick sleepwear, PJ’s, Formal outfits. You could even change their underwear in CAS. Something that was never done in “The Sims”.
The Sims in The Sims 2 were smarter now. They had memories. They remembered if they had a burglar come in. They will remember when they had roaches and you will see them sob about it. If they got into a fight with a Sim, the will be mad at that sim and make an angry face if they see them again. The memory system was something that brought so much depth to the game.
But the main thing in The Sims 2 was this: AGING and TIME!
Your sims now had a lifespan. One where you had to pay careful attention to. You had to balance their goals with the forever ticking of the lifetime clock. Your sims were not immortal, they now can die of old age. This added a complexity to the game. A time limit, in a sense, to make sure you can get your sims goals achieved before they aged up and passed on.
The game added so many features to the series that make it a major milestone in Simming History.
Join me next week as I go into the first expansion pack for the Sims 2. University!
In today’s Livestream, we had Sim Guru Graham joined by Thomas who is a tech designer for the pack. They introduced the pack to us, including CAS, Build Mode Objects and the new Butler NPC. Below is an overview of what they covered!
Female:
2 Dresses, 2 Tops, 1 Long Skirt, 2 Watches, 1 New pair of shoes, 2 Hairstyles, 2 Sets of earrings, 1 Pair of glasses (but also for males) and 2 Necklaces
Men:
2 Tops, 2 Full outfits, 2 Pairs of shoes, 1 Hairstyle and 1 Pair of glasses
Kids:
Male- 1 Jacket and 1 Hairstyle
Female- 1 Dress and 1 Hairstyle

We have new wallpapers and gameplay objects with the vanity table and bar plus more.
Below are some pre-made rooms for the live stream featuring the new objects. We have 2 new beds, 2 chairs, 1 sofa and futon. Also, 2 side tables which have mirrors on the top, 1 coffee table and dining table. Then 2 new vanity tables plus 1 new globe bar. Along with 1 new flower plant, 1 pop art poster and the new full-length wall mirrors. For curtains, there are 4 new types and also a wall divider as seen below. For clutter, there is a new dragon piece with some makeup to decorate the house with plus 2 rugs. 2 new lamps, one in the design of a giraffe (A personal favourite) and a fireplace.

The butler NPC is exclusive to the stuff pack and can be hired for 12 simoleans an hour via the phone. You can only have 1 Butler per household and they will need a bed to sleep in. The Butler can clean, repair, garden and tend to babies plus cook for you or the family. But, say you wanted to Garden or Repair things, for example, you can order the Butler to not do those things. They can also play an instrument for you, as long as there is one on the lot. Butlers do only have so much patience though and will quit if you have a too negative relationship with them. Also, they will sabotage objects to spite your bad relationship. They can also deny all visitors, welcome them in or just ignore the door. You can praise your Butler to help them feel better and work better.

The new vanity table is a gameplay object that can be used to apply makeup to your sim via over 50 pre-made makeup looks. These looks are under various categories and have descriptions for the looks. But, the makeup isn’t permanent and will wash off when the sim showers, baths or goes to sleep. Kids can also play with Makeup on the vanity table with various outcomes of ok and disaster.

The new bar contains 5 recipes that unlock as your mixology skills advance. You can make a single drink or a platter of 4 drinks. Kids can also study the globe by spinning it and having a look around it.

If you want to catch up on the Livestream head over to Twitch. So are you excited for the pack? I can’t wait to have a Butler and play with the vanity tables makeup looks.
The Sims Team will be playing The Sims 4 Vintage Glamour Stuff Pack live on Twitch!
The broadcast begins on December 2nd at 1PM PT / 10PM CET . You can watch it live down below and in case you miss the broadcast, we’ll update this post with a replay after the broadcast is over.
The latest patch for The Sims 4, released today (1st December), has made updates related to aliens.
1. You can now set your alien Sims’ disguise in CAS without having to go into Live Mode and choosing the “Alter Disguise” interaction.

2. There is a new icon alongside your Sims’ traits to indicate they are an alien.

3. There is a new plumbob in Live Mode specially for aliens.

With the December first update, we were treated with a little Holiday gift in the form of some new Holiday Celebration Pack items!
First, we have the new ‘Cracker’ object and this is intractable:

When you open the cracker you have a chance to get some sweets for your sims, causing them to have a happy, energised or playful moodlet or some scrap which will make your sim gain a sad moodlet.

Or, if you’re even luckier you can get a collectable plushie plus a joke! A few of the plushies represent different holidays with Thanksgiving, Valentines Day, St Patrick’s day and Halloween being some of them. In total, there are 8 to collect.

For the other items we have a new festive Fireplace:

And also a new centrepiece which are candles in some leaves:

We also have a new table to host some Holiday celebrations on:

Last of all are the new nutcrackers:

Hey guys!
I just wanted to give you a little heads up that today’s patch has destroyed the club system. EA is aware of it and working on it. In the meantime, make sure you have your save copy/pasted somewhere outside the TS4 folder because updating will mess up your clubs.
Clubs that have over 6 members will lose their two extra members. You cannot add them back. If you get enough points to do so, as soon as you save/exit and go back then you will lose those two members. Also, clubs are not meeting where they should meet. As you can see in the screens below, my club is set to meet at any bar. Does that house look like any bar? When I clicked on “start gathering”, the game took them to a vacant house.
I think this is just the tip of the iceberg! Since the patch just went live a few hours ago and people are just starting to find things.
Today’s patch also appears to have messed up mods that deal with occult states (think aliens for now) and CAS.
Link to the official forum where SimGuruNick has posted that he is aware of the issue. Keep an eye on that thread to see when this gets fixed.
Screens from my save showing the issue (the club had 8 members prior to the patch):

UPDATE #2: More Vampire-related icons have been found!
UPDATE: It seems that this is all related to an upcoming GAME PACK! The Sims Team added placeholder box arts for Game Packs, meaning that GP04 is very near…
Back in September, it was teased that we would be getting “Scary New Packs” soon. Some new information has surfaced inside the code with the new patch, released today.
The “tag” XML contains some new tags that were not there previously:

<T ev=”40988″>EyeColor_RESERVED_03</T>
<T ev=”40989″>Buff_RESERVED_01</T>
It’s impossible to tell exactly what these “reserved” tags are referring to, but at least one of them mentions a new occult, and it would make complete sense to introduce new eye colors along with it. Anything else is a matter of speculation. Although a few of the tags have low IDs, they weren’t in the list before the patch. It could be that they were created a long time ago, but weren’t activated until now.
Note: “Style_” tags refer to additional filter tags in CAS, such as Rocket, Preppy, etc.
