Considering there have been so many tweets added to our first SimGuru Q&A post, I’ve decided to write up a second part instead of updating the original one. Plus, we’re getting a whole new batch of information about the parenting system next week.
@MidnightASims @Lucas_Stonem94 Oh you can pack just about anything into a sack lunch. (I like to pack slices of cake for their lunch, because I’m cool Dad!)

@TheSimmerAbby @AgentNyx @EnglishSimmer Teen mood things are indeed a thing. (And their associated walk style is pretty funny)

@Minifrites @To7mBenfell @FabulousSimmer It’s true we could have gone a few different ways with it. We chose what we think is the most versatile…
— Dave Miotke (@SimGuruNinja) May 18, 2017
@Minifrites @To7mBenfell @FabulousSimmer You choose when to place them on and to what degree and the game doesn’t try to tell you it’s a bad or unclean thing or anything like that..
— Dave Miotke (@SimGuruNinja) May 18, 2017
@Minifrites @To7mBenfell @FabulousSimmer So an adult can have acne in the game and it’s not something gameplay considers negative in any way.

@MarianaF53 Not a skill per se, but part of playing with the Doctor Set
— Dave Miotke (@SimGuruNinja) May 18, 2017
@storyteller93 @MarianaF53 yeah – they’ll run through a variety of animations.

@davimachaado I really like it. The details on the door change depending on which variant you select from the build/buy catalog.

@davimachaado We included a surprising number of placemat options too!
Really wanted choices to fit the styles of almost any table/kitchen.— Dave Miotke (@SimGuruNinja) May 19, 2017

Love that we can now ‘set the table’ <3
‘This ain’t no party pack!!!!!!!!!!! (hee hee hee)’
You know, the gurus could try to be less obvious with their heavy-handed hints.
Also, I’m glad they’re giving us more walk styles!
I wonder what type of Parties are they thinking of?
Maybe new mechanics for Birthday Parties?Like Sims giving gifts or something else?
Everyone’s raring for The Sims 4 seasons… maybe it’ll follow TS3’s tracks in terms of holidays?
teen parties like we had in the sims 3?
The game didn’t have to treat acne as bad or unclean. They could have just made a few interactions for it, like “Pop zit” when you click on a mirror, then you could get different moodlets from that (embarrassed if you failed at popping it, uncomfortable if it hurt, confident if you were successful) or an interaction with a fellow teen or parent could have been “Ask about acne”, or it could have been a notification! Like the way children freak out about monsters under the bed, they could have done this with teens. The teen could touch their face, run to a mirror, see the acne and then start screaming about their new spots because they don’t know what they are. Then they could run to their parents who would calm them down and reassure them. After the event, a moodlet could pop up based on how the sim feels, i.e. happy or sad that they’re growing up, angry or embarrassed about the acne. Yes, no one should promote making fun of people with acne or treat them with disgust or anything like that, but teens have insecurities and are sensitive, it’s part of growing up. Almost everyone at some point in life has been annoyed or embarrassed about a pimple, it’s something that happens in real life! Since this is a Parenthood pack, they could have added this in order for Sims to teach their children about not caring what other people think and that there’s no need to be embarrassed about a couple of spots. They could have even made it so if you don’t teach your children about how awesome they are, your teen will do crazy stuff trying to get rid of the spots. I’m really excited for this pack, but this is already a red flag for me. It’s annoying how much they cut corners on things (like the way we’re not allowed to make our own apartments in City Living) and I really want this pack to be good. I hope this is the only problem I’ll have with this pack.
I think is more about being politically correct. They even made a set table interaction for the GP, I think the pimples would have been easier than setting table interaction since they have it already in CAS.
Political correctness can be annoying sometimes
I was so hoping the acne was something that just appeared on your sims. I hope the mood swings are spontaneous.
it’s sad that people are so sensitive that the guru’s had to make pimples a cas item, not something that shows up and gives you a negative moodlet. I would LOVE for my sims to wake up with zits and the “uncomfortable’ moodlet, because that’s what happens in real life.
It might be legitimate that they were worried about people’s feelings so they made them a cas item but I don’t fully believe that. I think it probably has more to do with them trying To cut corners . How is it things that people want always end up being ignored or handled incorrectly. It must be they do no research. As was mentioned above they did apartments oddly, now acne , and I’m sure there are more examples.
Folks, let’s not forget that the sims 4 is a separate game than the previous version (s). The developers are going to want to do things differently than previous times. That may be all they’re guilty of – setting the bar too high previously that now when they try to shake things up it disappoints people.
Hi. Will the sim have pension when they are living with only one of their parents? And will we get inheritance from dead relatives?
