The Sims Team has released a brand new Update for The Sims 4 on PC and Mac!
To download the latest version of The Sims 4, simply open your Origin program and if the game doesn’t update automatically, right click on The Sims 4 and select ”Update”.
In case you have Mods or Custom Content, the game will automatically disable them for you after first launching The Sims 4 after the update. To re-enable all your Mods and Custom Content, select the Settings option in the Menu and select Settings. Under the”Other” section you’ll find the ”Enable Custom Content and Mods” option. Check it and restart your game in order for it to take effect!

Hey Simmers,
A quick note for a couple of hot issues.
- You should now be able to once again, use speed controls when in cinematic camera (aka tab camera).
- You should now be able to once again have your Sim travel without causing them to become corrupted because they did not get to know Lin-Z.
- You should now be able to once again dance the Samba, assuming you previously knew the Samba.

When I try to launch my game an error message comes up saying, ‘Invalid License. Reason Code = Invalid Cipher (0x0006). I’m not sure what this means nor what to do.
I still can’t change speed with my keyboard keys during gameplay!

Hey! That’s actually not a game bug. It’s a bug with the UI Cheats extension mod. Hope I could help!

For me, even I remove UI Cheats it still doesn’t work : (
after this update, it won’t open my sims game. I don’t have any mods what-so-ever. lol help!

I’m having problems too! My game was lagging so I tried resetting it. That only made it worse and now my game doesn’t show the foundation tool in Build Mode.

same, mine is freezing on the loading screen?!
After this update, my family’s and lots wont properly load! My floor patterns show up as question Mark’s, and my sims are stuck in the floors! I dont have any custom content, so it cant be that.
When arethe Vampire Leveling bug and the Get Famous disappearing gig bugs going to be fixed?
I can’t play my game my sim glitched and I can’t even start a new game this update is crap
After this update my game won’t load. It just loads and loads and loads….forever. I removed the Mod folder and relaunched… the same thing. What.did.you.DO?!?

Did you delet the localthumbcache file? If not that may be your issue because it stores info from removed mods until it’s deleted. The game will regenerate a new one on startup.

Just uninstall Origin and reinstall it (delete both cache folders first) Hit repair, update and play. Sim on!

same. I removed all my mods after they were broken in the previous patch sooooo
Has anyone else experienced the fact that in normal view, when the sim is asleep or at work the speed up will show it’s going fast but actually doesn’t? I don’t use mods or CC, I just find that I can’t skip forward fast. The time stays the same and then just jumps an hour randomly. Turned off my game as it annoyed me too much

I’m having the exact same issue! It’s been driving me nuts!!! And now this update seems to have just made it worse!
I can load my game but then it will randomly freeze and I won’t be able to click on anything or save. I’m forced to close the game and lose all my progress! Also there is a HUGE glitch around the hamster cages! All this update seems to have done is glitch things. Please fix!
Hey SimGurus, there has been a couple build mode issues lately that I haven’t seen anyone address or mention yet. In particular, house trims. House trims disappear if a section of floor is curved (like a balcony) or if stairs are placed on the wall where a trim is. Also, some lots in Oasis Springs have changed direction and are facing odd ways, like Yuma Heights and Desert Bloom.

The sims shoes are missing
This game is always broken. Not only that, it’s almost impossible to make it better with Mods & CC because then Maxis makes sure your game ends up destroyed.
I paid all this money for this game with packs, etc. only to begin hating The Sims 4.
I do more programming and fixing and uninstalling and re-installing than actually playing the game and enjoying it.
It would be so great if you guys would support Mods & CC for us.
All we want is to customize our gameplay is that too much to ask?

They do support mods in the sense that you’re able to easily mod the game and help modders who have questions. They however do not take responsibility if a simmer wants to use mods as that simmer is responsible for what mods they use and to keep them updated. It’s unrealistic and a waste of time for he gurus (or of any game) to be responsible for mods and maintaining them. If a save becomes corrupt because of mods or cc that’s not the gurus fault. Maybe the game is broken for you but obviously not for many others. Again, if your issues are non mod or cc related then report those issues on the official forum but if they’re cc or mod related that’s your burden to keep your extra items up to date and make sure to delete the local thumb cache when removing or updating mods and to make sure you’re not downloading conflicting mods (check their coding).
Sooooo….can we buy the Lin-Z speaker again?
I keep getting stalled out at 85%. Anyone else having this issue???
