Presented by EA Game Changers

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle adds a total of five new lot traits to the game, as well as a complete overhaul of the base game Off-the-Grid lot trait that was added in the free June 2019 game update. As you might imagine, the new lot traits add more eco-friendly options to your Sims’ homes.

Eco Lot

This lot moves toward eco-friendliness faster than others.

Geothermal

Natural heating lowers utility bills by generating power, and keeps any pools warm.

Natural Well

Spring water runs under this lot, reducing utility bills and offering fresh, clean water from the tap.

Reduce and Recycle

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Lot Traits Overview

This lot generates Compostable and Recyclable Trash, and outdoor cans are no longer bottomless. Actively managing the trash output is a must!

Landfill Lot

This place is a dump! Trash accumulates on this lot.

This lot trait is not available for Residential, Tiny Home Residential, University Housing, or Restaurant lots.

Off-the-Grid

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle: Lot Traits Overview

This lot is not connected to the utility grid, and most objects that use Power and Water will not function as expected. Can your Sims survive without the comforts of plumbing and electricity? Natural living does have its advantages—such as no utility bills!

Please note that the Off-the-Grid lot trait does NOT come with Eco Lifestyle. It is a base game lot trait that was added with the free June 2019 game update; however, Eco Lifestyle has such a heavy influence on this trait that we felt it was worth including in this article.

Really liked how they added more to off the grid including making it easier to find items that work using that lot trait. Really plan to use most of this pack a lot in Sulani too.

But watch out, even if you have solar panels and dew collector, it will not make your stuff work if the lot is off the grid…

I think you’d have to make your own energy for them to work off the grid.
