The official patch notes skipped out on a rocking makeover!
It seems there's been a lot of attention lately on refreshes and makeovers in The Sims 4. Eight Base Game Houses got a Refresh, the Main Menu got a revamp, and something that's completely been overlooked in the patch notes - the Grim Reaper got a Makeover!
That's correct - this dark sillhouette of an NPC got carved out with better, scarier details. And we have the before and after photos to show you!
Grim Reaper Pre-Makeover
Before this secret makeover, Grim Reaper had his chest area fully covered with his dark cloth. Take a look in the screenshot below, and don't mind me trying to turn the Grim Reaper into a Vampire...

Grim Reaper Post-Makeover
The secret January 16th Makeover of the Grim Reaper in The Sims 4 includes visual changes to the book, changes the flow of the dark veil flowing, as well as opens up the chest area to be fully transparent:

This change can be fully visible when you zoom into the Grim Reaper:

The way he talks, acts, and collects souls in The Sims 4 still remains intact. Plus, his hoodie reveals are as pixelated as ever in The Sims 4 Life & Death. Don't worry!
Early Designs of the Grim Reaper
In some of the early Concept Art designs for the Grim Reaper in The Sims 4, the artists suggested a darker, more revealing sillhouette around the waist. With different explorations for visual effects:

I dislike the fact that their hands have changed as well. The original ones looked way creepier. But everything else looks great!

I’m with you on that one I really dislike his new hands. He felt more undead before.
