New Food & Merch Stalls
In the opening moments of the reveal trailer, we can see several stalls. While it’s unclear at the moment, these stalls are likely to be places for Sims to tuck into some of Nordhaven’s delicacies and pick up some local merchandise.

While at the front of the screenshot, we can see Sims selling their creations using the same market table we’ve seen in game before.

Before making them permanent, why not sketch out those ideas and client requests on the drawing tablet first.

This could also open up conversation options with potential clients when it comes to discussing their tattoos.
Get Creative with Tattoo Mode
At first glance, there seems to be a lot going on when you look at Tattoo Mode. However, did you notice just how much detail you can put into tattoos using not only the pre-designed tattoos but also in Tattoo Paint Mode? It will certainly lead to some interesting tattoo designs for our Sims!

That colour wheel though!

I saw someone on the Sims Discord shared a couple of photos related to a sketchy sim in the background and a stolen ATM in one of the windows — might be a big hint at burglars!
I’m thinking the trenchcoat guy is either a shoplifter or some kind of black market merchant. I’d say burglars are more likely to be added in a update (2/25?), or their own pack focused on crime.
Tattoo paint mode… I can’t see how things can get out of hands here
I can picture it now……poor bloke goes on his stag night, gets drunk. Next day, turns up for his vows with a pen+s tattoo on his forehead!
lmfaoooo i cannot wait to see what callmekevin does w this pack considering what he already does w the similar pet coat paint system xD
Can we stop treating food stalls like they’re gameplay? It’s set dressing, all food costs a negligible fee and fills hunger by the same amount.
Saw this on another site:
“And as for the type of small business players can run, that’ll depend on the Sims 4 expansions and game packs they own. With just Businesses & Hobbies installed, players can build business around either the new tattoo skill (which introduces a Tattoo Paint Mode to create custom designs using a growing collection of stamps and stencils) or the new pottery skill. The latter adds a pottery wheel and kiln for Sims to utilise, with players able to make either decorative or functional pieces, and glaze them for the finishing touch.
However, if the idea of running a tattoo parlour or pottery shop doesn’t appeal, Cats and Dogs expansion owners can open pet cafes, while the Get Together expansion unlocks the ability to run dance clubs and game arcades. City Living unlocks karaoke bars, Get Famous unlocks acting classes, Laundry Day makes it possible to run a laundrette, and Bowling Night is for those that want to open their own bowling alley. And finally, Spa Day is the game pack you’ll need if you want to wring your customers dry in the name of relaxation.”
TL/DR:
Packs owned = unlocked Business. Examples:
Business & Hobbies = Tattoo Parlour, Pottery, Gallery.
Cats & Dogs = Cat Cafe, Dog cafe.
Get Together = Dance Clubs, Game Arcades.
City Living = Karaoke Bars.
Get Famous = Acting Classes.
Laundry Day = Laundrette.
Bowling Night = Bowling Alley.
Spa Day = Spas.
I suspect that there will be more as the supplied Business Logos & Business Activity selector in the Trailer also showed Knitting or sewing, swimming pools, Bakery, Sweet shop, cooked food, Fixing things (Repair shop?), Telling jokes (Comedy Club?), so lots to look forward too.
I bet the modders expand this like crazy!!
I’m dying to know the cross pack compatibility with for rent… I’m not optimistic but I’m hoping you can have multiple shops with multiple apartments on top
it’s been confirmed no, but that’s fair and expected tbh since this seems like a spiritual successor to TS2: Open for Business, which followed a similar limit outline of no home businesses in an apartment complex from TS2: Apartments.
so we can finally run a restaurant on our residential lot? fuck you ea, take my wallet already
I think the whole moving from one house to another hasn’t been in previous pack teasers. Moving into a new place at the start of a trailer, sure, but not being in one lot and then moving to another. I also thought it interesting that the building they moved into looked pretty much empty, and had construction signs and tape. I haven’t seen that before. The EA built unoccupied houses that come with an expansion usually have at least the minimum in furnishings, and no signs or tape. Additionally, they showed that being totally renovated like a Simmer would with a shell house or “fixer-upper” off the gallery. I don’t remember ever seeing that before. Finally, we have a “restoration” kit coming in May, and one of the type of business icons showed the sledgehammer from build buy with a nail.
I see fixer-uppers, maybe even house flipping, in the future.
I kind of think that was for storytelling purposes, like yk how at the bottom of the trailers, there’s a disclaimer that not all that is shown will appear in game. I think they just had a filler lot to look like a potential business lot that was previously abandoned but turned into the perfect family home business lot. But it would be pretty cool to actually have something like that in game!
