New official logos for Jungle Adventure, Snowy Escape and My Wedding Stories have surfaced online.

The Sims Franchise is one of the world’s most beloved and long-standing simulation game series. According to rumors, it is going to be undergoing a significant change. Over the past few weeks, The Sims Rebrand speculation has taken over social media, noting subtle changes being noticed across platforms and updates hinted at by artists and Simmers. With creative agency COLLINS reportedly behind the rebrand, fans are becoming eager to see what the future holds for the branding of The Sims 4

COLLINS and Nick Ace Lead the Rebrand

One of the most concrete pieces of information fueling The Sims/The Sims 4 rebrand speculation comes from Nick Ace, the Chief Creative Officer at COLLINS. As shared by user @etozheden on X (Formerly known as Twitter), Ace has posted that there is a complete brand rollout for the Sims, which is expected to come in “about a month or so.”

The official X account for Collins also stated that Ace will present the new branding, sparking excitement and questions throughout the Sims community.

Sneak Peaks: Visual Changes Already Rolling Out

In addition to the following social media posts, some branding changes are already quietly rolling out. According to @_etzoheden, The Sims 4 homepage recently updated its banner to feature a new font. So, I took matters into my own hands and checked the website, and I can confirm.

This small but significant design tweak supports the theory that a rebrand could be coming. In addition, the twitter user also shared a preview from the branding event where they showcased the early version of The Sims Franchise timeline. Before the Collins rebranding.

The updated code names for The Sims Lotus is now The Sims Project Rene. Additional aspects like The Sims Store have been merged into the upcoming The Sims Hub project. Plus, more spin-offs and MySims games are expected to come out soon compared to the older roadmap of The Sims Franchise products.

A History of Rebranding: Not the First Identity Shift

It’s important to note that The Sims 4 has already undergone multiple rebranding changes since its original launch in 2014. From logo design changes to UI color palettes and box art style updates, the game has evolved visually multiple times to align with new content, base game updates, or expansion pack releases. These shifts have often marked new creative directions of marketing strategies. However, This rumored current rebrand appears to be the most significant due to its rumors of potentially shaping the franchise’s identity as a whole.

It’s interesting that they’re dropping the “4” from the pack titles. So now it’s just “The Sims Jungle Adventure” or “The Sims Snowy Escape” I believe this is the biggest hint that the game is here to stay and there won’t be a traditional “Sims 5” release. 🥲

Potentially Dropping The “4”: A New Naming Strategy?

Perhaps the most surprising twist (at least in my opinion) in the Sims Rebrand speculation is the decision to drop the “4” from The Sims 4 potentially. A post via Bluesky by Pixelsims notes new names to packs such as “The Sims: Jungle Adventures,” removing the numerical title entirely. While this might hint at a long-term branding strategy, this sparked a lot of confusion among The Sims 4 players.

Why Now?

The timing of the rebrand could potentially be more than just cosmetic. With Project Rene, the next title of The Sims franchise, this rebrand could serve as the bridge between generations. Refreshing The Sims 4 branding may be EA’s strategy to modernize the game’s appearance and strengthen brand cohesion ahead of its next big release. It also could open the door to expanding The Sims as a platform, especially for new players to become more engaged with the franchise.

Conclusion: What’s Next for The Sims?

To conclude, while there are plenty of questions that remain unanswered, The Sims rebrand speculation continues to grow. With an official reveal on the horizon, all eyes are on EA to deliver the correct vision that honors the past and makes an exciting new future. Whether the rebrand involved changes or just simple design, one thing is clear: A new era for The Sims could be coming.

This is terrible for the ones who still play the sims 3,2,1 and try to differentiate the games from the 4th one… How would we know if they’re streaming the sims 1 or the sims 4?

I mean it shouldn’t be hard to know that they are playing a game from back in the day compared to TS4. Plus if you’re streaming on twitch that should even be a confusing thing. I’m all for dropping the 4 and rebranding it under one name since that IS what people know. People think of TS4 as The Sims anyways.

They’ll do anything but fix the game.

This for investors, they don’t care about bug fixing

I’ve been trying to reinstall The Sims 3 since the January update, but it’s been impossible. My screen freezes as soon as I arrive in town, with awful graphics, even though everything was fine before.

So I don’t care about this rebranding; EA breaks all its games.

They’re welcome to drop the 4 but that Jungle Adventure typography is terrible.

I thought so too. It looks very 1970’s to me. I was there, I know. 🙂

Why should we care about logos when the game is unplayable??

I thought that you should’ve known that there are MULTIPLE teams working on Sims, right?

And they should at least be concentrating on not making the game less playable.

This relates to an allocation of resources. A rebrand of any sort is only going to lead to disappointment. Marketing should be professional enough to stand behind not marketing content that is unplayable or broken while another team work to resolve major issues and not doing a rebrand to mask several unplayable or broken packs.

Not unplayable. I don’t much trouble since I started restricting the amount of mods I keep to just those recently updated and actually stuff I use frequently. When I run the game without mods or CC it seldom has any real trouble, the odd freeze when a Sim just stands there. But, that’s almost entertaining too.

Those look painfully “My passion is graphic design” amateurish. Not surprising the alleged creators still post on twitter.

Always interesting to see new logos (Despite these being very ugly).

I’m old and probably slightly bitter and certainly a luddite when it comes to cell phones. This rebranding just seems like a complete waste of time. Why not put time into something practical, like fixing things that cause the game to lag, crash, or self destruct? Surely, those who know more about the backend of the game could come up with a good to-do list for EA if they have all this time to spend on something trivial (to me). I hope they do not ever make a Sims 5/ Project Rene/ whatever they want to call it. I’ve bought almost every pack and most of the kits for Sims 4. There is almost not part of me feeling keen to start over again with a new version of the game. Unless it will all work with what I have. Which doesn’t seem likely as a business money making plan. Urghh! I think every generation knows that word. 🙂

The new game is coming out, and thankfully you have no say in it. For someone who grew up with new fresh exciting Sims sequels every few years, your comment makes no sense. Why wouldn’t a fan want the franchise to move forward? Is 100 DLCs not enough for you? This is a sickness (like hoarding), seek help.

This feels like a long time in coming. And honestly, me personally I’m not mad about it. A billion players have invested in this game, and the fact that EA is planning to drop the “4” feels like a sign that the game will only see more improvement, support and updates in the long term. Reminds me of Minecraft’s rebrand years ago to differentiate java from bedrock (which ended up moving in a more universal and standard direction with years and years of future content). I think this is a good thing: for players and maybe begrudgingly, the company. The interests of these two groups don’t need to be disparate. There is a world in which player demand and wishes can function consistent with EA’s goals and planning

I am VERY excited to see the new next-gen Sims game. The HUB will apparently convert creations from TS4 to the new Sims game, so we’ll have plenty of creations on day 1.
