Electronic Arts doesn't plan to stop with adding more features to The Sims 4 Marketplace, according to the latest message posted by Vice President of EAX.
The Sims 4 Marketplace was first launched as a game-only portal for buying in-game content - available first on PC and Mac. Then the Marketplace extended for Xbox and Playstation players just a few weeks after that, and this week we got the introduction of The Sims 4 Marketplace on the Web. Allowing players to purchase content directly from their browsers (for PC / Mac) and access an updated look and feel of The Sims 4 Store.

The Message
In yesterday's message posted by EAX Vice President Joseph Traverso there was a section talking about the evolution of The Sims 4 Marketplace. Joseph mentioned all the ways The Sims 4 Marketplace is flexible, connected and "just works" - but also mentioned something in the Evolution part of the section. Saying that "We have some amazing plans for the future to evolve The Sims 4 Marketplace alongside the game and the emerging needs of our players".

Yesterday we launched the latest chapter on this journey by bringing The Sims 4's in-game marketplace to the web. We're excited about this new experience for a few key reasons:
Flexibility - We know our players value choice when it comes to the platforms on which they play their games, but with choice can often come complexity. When you buy The Sims 4 content for PC from The Sims 4 Marketplace, it "just works" - regardless of whether you play on EA App (which we hope!), Steam, or Epic Games Store!
Connection - It's our mission to help Makers amplify the amazing products they are creating for The Sims 4 Marketplace - and previously our Maker content was limited to in-game purchasing only. With the new The Sims 4 Marketplace on the web, PC players can now purchase all this amazing Maker content without first having to launch the game!
Evolution - We have some amazing plans for the future to evolve The Sims 4 Marketplace alongside the game and the emerging needs of our players. We are incredibly excited about what the future holds and are excited to share what we're working on with you in the near future!
The part that's 100% true is that EA plans to evolve The Sims 4 Marketplace with new features. However, the wording of the first sentence makes it seem like The Sims 4 Marketplace won't be the only thing evolving. The Sims 4 has a planned evolution too.
In case you missed out on the recent Sims insider talks and speculation over the last few months, EA and Maxis plan to forever ditch releasing new Sims 4 Packs in exchange for an improved Base Game release and experience. Currently codenamed The Sims Project X, the next single player Sims experience plans to include new features like Open Neighborhood, improved Graphics and Gameplay among other things. The game is also rumored to get Expansion Pack features like Seasons, Milestones and more fan favorites, marking it as a new entry point for releasing further DLCs and expanding the current offering.
That, or The Marketplace could also have an additional function in the release of The Sims Project Rene and Moola being transferable in the multiplayer Sims world.
EA is not shy from saying that their publicly announced project that is Sims 4 Marketplace is doing well enough for further evolution. But it also seems they're slowly opening up to the talks of other Sims aspects evolving soon.

So what about the bug reports that items from kit bought through the market place don’t work? And what about the cas items that don’t support disabling male and female tags?

The quality of some of the content they let pass on the marketplace is questionable. It’s supposed to replace creator kits, but where’s the quality control, plus the outrageous prices of maker packs. I really hope the community stops getting tricked by this garbage marketplace.

I think I’ll stick with CC, if I ever get the bravery to play Sims 4 again.

I’ve been hoping for sims 4 cars that have the same functionality as sims 2 cars (since both are not open world and they could easily immitate the same system that made sims 2 cars work). So should I stop hoping or expect they’d bring them in the infinite game updates that seem redundant sometimes?
